DNF at 25%.

This is bad. Absolutely nothing happens for the first 3-4 chapters. We get to listen to an annoyed inner monolog of the protagonist who thinks she is clever and edgy... but comes across as a bit of an ass. The dialogs are abysmal. Seriously, who talks with an exclamation point after every sentence? Oh, and did I mention that nothing happens?

I wasn't even sure what the story was supposed to be about. We have two maybe angels invited into a house where maybe demons maybe hurt a baby... only nobody talks about anything useful, like getting into details of what actually happened. Why did the parents feel like they needed this particular intervention?

We get lots of "flashing wings", and rainbow sparks, and the protagonist talking about her messy blond hair and rainbow nail polish. Really? Because that's what the reader really wants to know about, instead of, you know, a demon possessed house?

Also, it seems like any other female character in this story is either a mousey sidekick that can't even decide whether she will reveal the truth about her angelic nature to her husband on her own (and needs our protagonists input on this), or a hysterical idiot who decides to question everything the protagonist does and constantly interfere with what little investigation there is.

Thanks, but no thanks. I'm out.

PS: I received an advanced copy from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

DNF...I couldn't get through it. It's a neat concept:demon hunting angels and all, but not very well done. The constant "warrior husband Jesus" talk over and over with no point then phasing through cars while makinf comments about "too bad the engine isn't running" ugh. Come on. Needs a lot of editing and more concise path.
