I was immediately drawn to this book by the cover! I am a mermaid fan since I was about 2. I love the ocean and all things mermaids! The cover is absolutely cute and who can resist a cute puppy!

Molly is a Mermaid at the local aquarium with her sidekick puppy named Ursula! Max returns to Turtle Island to take over his uncle's aquarium. Molly and Max of course clashed, but they also had great chemistry! I rated this one a 4/5 stars due to the slow burn of their story. I felt like I was on a rollercoaster of angst and love! I absolutely loved the senior center and the supporting characters that live within the senior center. They are what made this book comical to me! This won't be my last Teri Wilson book!

A Line in the Sand is a sweet story about a marine biologist, a “mermaid” or at least a woman who whose work had her dressing as one, a feisty group of senior citizens determined to play matchmakers, and a precious little dog. There’s also an important message about the preservation of marine life in this book. This is a good lighthearted read. I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book from NetGalley. Highly recommend.

Big thanks to Sourcebooks Casablanca for the e-ARC of this book via NetGalley. This review is being given honestly and all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Overall 3.5 stars rounded up to 4 for enjoyment

Molly is an aquarium mermaid who is still hurt from a previous relationship and very much in love with her puppy, Ursula. Max is the new director of the aquarium who is looking for a fresh start after disappointing news at his last job. The two meet when Max starts to drown at the dog beach and Molly is the one to save him (an AMAZING meet-cute). Tel he very next day, Max, in a rash attempt to save the aquarium, fires Molly which leads to a semi-antagonistic relationship between the two. Over the next few weeks these two are forced to work together for the sake of the aquarium while barely acknowledging the mutual attraction. This is definitely a slow burn romance as the couple doesn’t really get together till the end BUT it doesn’t take 600 pages to get their either, which I was a huge fan of. This is also a no-steam romance, with the most physical action being kissing. This did not detract from the story whatsoever, which is important as a spicy romance lover (me ofc) but I def would have liked to see it (not asking for author to do it just my preference). I thought this was a super sweet and fun romance that also felt like the perfect summer romance/beach read BUT this doesn’t release till August! Would def recommend for anyone looking for something low-angst and no thoughts just feels vibes.

"Mermaids? Little toy spaniels named Ursula? And why so many dogs? An enormous poodle with pink bows on its ears poked at Max with a narrow snout. He felt like Alice, falling down a very deep and uncommonly sandy rabbit hole."

Welcome to Turtle Beach, North Carolina, where there are dogs, senior citizens, and turtles aplenty. This was such a cute read! If you're into the idea of a sweet, enemies-to-lovers love story between a broody marine biologist and a mermaid that works at an aquarium that needs saving, you're in for a treat.

I loved the small town energy between the characters. Meddling senior citizens are some of my favorite characters in any book and they did not disappoint in this one.

"Sometimes Max thought they might be flip sides of the same coin- opposites at face value, but the same in ways that truly mattered."

This is my first book by Teri Wilson, and definitely won't be my last. I can see myself reacheding for Wilson's books if I'm ever in need of a sweet light fluffy read.

Max Miller is new to town and ready to take over the aquarium his uncle handed over, and spend his time observing the turtles by the beach. Life is never that easy though, and Max's first day he's pulled into the water and rescued by a mermaid. This (faux) mermaid is none other than the town's loved Molly Prince, employee at the aquarium.
Despite this adorable meet-cute, these two are instantly at odds with eachother, but need each other to save the aquarium after learning its in financial distress.

This book was so sweet. Its a very mild form of enemies to lovers, and a very low stress book. Molly Prince is a heroine with a heart of gold, and Max Miller is focused on keeping the aquarium alive and thriving to protect his dreams.

I loved this book, and it read much like a Hallmark movie, and you're sure to fall in love with Ursula the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel/ Lobster, Molly the Mermaid, Max the grumy marine biologist, and all the people in this town.

↠ 4 stars

A line in the sand is my new favorite book. I promise this is an honest review even though I requested this because there's a King Charles cavalier spaniel on the cover and I have one myself. The dog's name is Ursula and she was the star of this book for me, but I also really loved the three old ladies in this book as well as our main characters Molly and Max. Max moves back home at his uncle's request to help the Aquarium, which is in need of money. He almost drowns on the first day but Molly in her mermaid costume saves him. She also works at the aquarium with her dog dressed as a lobster, but Max thinks this is stupid and fires her. I hated Max at first and thought he was like a VSCO turtle girl. But he's actually a good guy you will see. This served enemies to lovers, fake dating, slow-burn, and more. I sometimes love romances that aren't super spicy, and this was one, although it still has good banter and tension. It was just such a joy to read I recommend if you like romance, turtles, or dogs!

A Line in the Sand is the second book in the Turtle Beach series. It could very easily be read as a standalone but is much more enjoyable getting to catch up with all the Turtle Beach gossip. Molly loves being a mermaid at the aquarium as her day job. She's still trying to get over a bad breakup and convince her parents that she doesn't need to go back to school to live a fulfilling life. Max is back in Turtle Beach after spending many a childhood summer there. He's now a marine biologist who will take over his uncle's aquarium and get it to be financially sound. His first day back in Turtle Beach ends up in a mermaid encounter that he won't easily forget.

This book starts out with a pretty funny meet cute! Just like the first book in the series, I find it to be more of a romcom. There is very low steam. Max and Molly have a enemies to lovers vibe except he's also her boss. I have to say though that I related to Max a lot. I also would have been annoyed if my employee was constantly bringing her naughty dog to work. The stars of these books really are the cast of town characters. I was glad to see the "Charlie's Angels" again along with Cinder and Sprinkles. They are all up to just as much mischief as before. Reading about the specialty cupcakes at bingo made me laugh out loud.

This is a very light hearted fluffy romcom that is meant to put a smile on your face. I didn't like the leads as much as the previous book but they were cute none the less. I'll definitely be picking up the next in the series to check in with my favorite Turtle Beach residents.

Max is returning to the place of his childhood summers, Turtle Beach North Carolina. Now he is coming to take over as director of the aquarium his uncle founded and finds it almost bankrupt. He’s quite the hunk, a Cary Grant look alike who is said to have a PhD instead of a sense of humor but he sure seemed to have one to me. Not so much with Molly and the Turtle Beach contingent, though. On his first day he fires the aquarium mermaid, Molly and her sidekick dog/lobster. Molly is so much more than just a mermaid at the aquarium; she knows how to fix the old decrepit building and machinery, take care of the fishes, she organizes the volunteers, fundraises and so much more.

And Max and Molly are really attracted to one another, quite inappropriately they both feel. Can their attraction possibly win over some of their animosity?

Molly is wonderfully quirky and her dog Ursula is sweet as pie and a genius at finding turtle holes and turtles in distress. Max, as mentioned before is meltingly gorgeous and how in the world did a scientist get abs like that, she wonders. The cast of secondary characters are wacky as well. My favorite activity at the senior center was wheelchair volleyball: the balls are balloons and the seniors in wheelchairs can’t let them touch the floor. I’m sure this is something activity directors do in real senior centers but it was new and, yes, wacky, to me.

This is part of a series of books set in Turtle Beach so it was nice to get glimpses of some of the characters from previous books. But this one can easily be read as a standalone. It is sometimes laugh out loud funny as well as sweetly romantic… with emphasis on the ‘antic.”

I look forward to recommending it to my patrons. A rom-com with no explicit sex but a hell of a lot of fun.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC in return for an honest review.

This book is cute and funny and sweet and there is not a single thing about it that I didn't completely adore. I loved seeing Violet and Sam from the last book, and I loved watching Molly and Max fall in love themselves. This delicious romantic comedy has become an immediate favourite, and is the perfect pick me up for anybody with a heart!

I received a copy from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

It was okay i think. The writing was sort of stilted and could use a bit more oomf than what the simplciity gave, but overall cute romance!
