A Line In The Sand is the second book in the Turtle Beach series. It starts out with a bang when mermaid Molly Prince saves marine biologist Max Miller. Molly isn't really a mermaid but, she pretends to be one for her job at the local marine museum. This is the same museum that Max recently inherited from his uncle. There are immediate sparks between Molly and Max but, these sparks quickly turn to flames when Max decides that Molly's position at the museum is not necessary.

When Max inherits the museum he finds out that it is in financial distress and in real danger of closing. It becomes his responsibility to save the museum and that involves cutting out the programs he believes are not needed. As adorable as he finds Molly in her mermaid costume, he does not see the endeavor as profitable. He also does not think that it it proper her dog Ursula is also at the museum dressed as a lobster. By firing her he quickly makes an enemy of not only Molly but of the whole town.

When Max fires Molly, he does not know of the various things she has done to try and revive the museum. He is so goal oriented that he is not seeing the bigger picture of what the museum means to the community. Truth be told he is way too wrapped up in his work and has forgotten how to be easy and carefree. Visiting Turtle Beach was a favorite part of his childhood but, he has long forgotten that feeling. Well that is until a certain mermaid keeps entering his space.

Throughout A Line In The Sand, Molly and Max were honestly cute and hysterical together. They fit the grumpy/sunshine troupe perfectly. Ursula just adds to this dynamic by driving Max crazy. He has never been a dog person and he really doesn't like this dog constantly digging holes on his beach property. It turns out that Ursula is digging for a reason … and this reason may just save the museum. Spending time with Molly and Ursula is also a good distraction for Max. For Molly, it allows her to just be herself with someone without fear of judgement. She has been judged all her life especially by her parents. Together, these characters help balance each other out.

Of course, Max and Molly wouldn't be spending so much time with each other if it wasn't for the well intentioned meddling elderly residents of Turtle Beach. They are the eyes and ears of the little down, and therefore know how to get the two squabbling characters in the same area. They really are matchmakers at heart. I enjoyed their antics and the way the town supported Molly when Max first fired her. Overall, this romance is a little bit of a slow burn which honestly did get a little tedious at times. I really just wanted them to cross that line in the sand.

I'm posting an honest review after reading an advanced reader copy of this story.

I'm a big Teri Wilson fan, ever since Unleashing Mr. Darcy. BTW, the book is excellent & Hallmark made many, many changes for the movie but both are super.

A Line in the Sand is such a cute read I'm on a sugar overdose. I loved it from start to finish. The main characters are interesting but what's really great are the old ladies, OG Charlie Angles. Meddling but in a good way. The setting of an aquarium terrific change from most romances. I read this story in one day, it was that cute, it's a good read.

A Line in The Sand
By Teri Wilson
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I loved it so much. I can always count on Teri Wilson to make me smile and feel very happy! I very much enjoyed this summer read! I’m definitely putting this book in my reread pile!

This was such a cute book! I loved the meet-cute with Molly saving Max’s life. Although these two become enemies, I enjoyed the mutual pining. Ursula really brought these two together in the most unlikely way and I loved that the pup was just as important to this story as ours leads. The Charlie’s Angels didn’t disappoint with their meddling shenanigans and it was nice to see some of the other residents of Turtle Beach. Violet and Sam are going strong with their dogs! I highly recommend this adorable beachy romcom!

Thank you to sourcebooks casablanca for an advanced copy. my thoughts are my own.

I love Teri Wilson's work! All of her books have a definite Hallmark-y feel and leave you feeling happy and optimistic after you finish them. I need these books in my life.

A Line in the Sand is quick and light-hearted. It’s fairly simplistic, and a bit repetitive and predictable, but has a summery setting, a cute cast of characters and animals, and overall is a feel-good story.

A Line in the Sand is the second novel in Teri Wilson’s Turtle Beach Books. According to Molly Prince’s parents she is wasting her education degree working in the aquarium and turtle rescue as a mermaid.

Max Miller, new aquarium director, finds it hard to take her seriously in her mermaid costume, even if she did pull his flailing self out of a turbulent sea. And when he discovers his Uncle Henry had the aquarium working in the red, it seems like cutting a mythical character from the payroll makes perfect sense. However, now the community is up in arms as Max discovers how much of the aquarium only worked because of Molly.

As this fun story unfolds, Max does his best to get Molly back to the aquarium, her small dog does her best to alert them to the beachfront happenings, and Molly does her best to make sense out of her unfolding future. This is a sweet tale with endearing characters and a lovely beach setting. I did enjoy this book and I do recommend it.

Perfectly respectable romantic comedy. A mermaid and a scientist. An adorable puppy. Lots of senior citizen antics. Enemies to lovers. Hallmarkesque and cute.

POSSIBLE SPOILERS
As a major turtle lover I expected to love this book. However I didn’t. It took me awhile to get through this book. I feel like max and Molly didn’t have chemistry. The beginning where Molly saves Max was a great meet cute. I just didn’t care for the main characters much. I also didn’t like how they fell in loved after barely interacting with each other. A few things I did enjoy were the “ Charlie’s angels” trio, turtle talk, and the location. Overall this book was horrible but it wasn’t good.

I truly enjoyed book 1 in this series so you all know I just HAD to read book 2. A book with a mermaid, sea turtles and a cute puppy! How could I say no?

What I loved:
▪️The small town of Turtle Beach and it’s Frozen Milky Way Lattes! I was so happy to be back in this quirky small town.
▪️Another adorable meet cute at dog beach!
▪️Ursula, Molly’s dog. She was just the cutest. I loved the description of her lobster costume 🥹
▪️The Seniors are back, aka the Charles Angels! I Truly enjoyed their meddling and match making. ‘The Golden Girls on Steroids’, lol!
▪️I loved that Violet and Sam played major parts in this. I loved them from book one.

Things I didn’t like:
▪️The Author gives away the plot in the book description. In this book it was that Ursula could sniff out sea turtle eggs. For me that ends up making the book super predictable. I wish the author would have held back that specific plot point and surprised us a bit more.

Otherwise, this was a VERY cute sweet romance. The side characters really make this series what it is. The town of Turtle Beach is magical. I really enjoyed read this and I’m hoping for book three in the future (hopefully with Caroline). I’m not ready to say good bye to this quirky little town just yet.

Molly and Max have a meet-cute to remember in the small town of Turtle Beach, when Molly saves Max from drowning. However, things take a turn the next day when Max, the new director of the aquarium that's financially struggling, fires Molly the mermaid. The pair continue to clash until Max asks Molly to help him save the aquarium.

Let's start with what I did like. I loved the town of Turtle Beach, with its meddling senior citizens, bingo nights, sandcastle building competitions, delicious cupcakes and interesting coffee concoctions from Turtle Books. I also loved the unique setting of the aquarium and how the book primarily focuses on the town's sea turtle population. Finally, who wouldn't love cute little Ursula?

I guess the main thing I didn't love was the underdeveloped romance. I just didn't feel a strong connection between Molly and Max except for their obvious physical attraction to one another. It was basically a slow burn without the chemistry and tension. I also don't think Max treated Molly that well for someone apparently in love.

Molly saves new-in-town marine biologist Max from drowning at the beach. But in his first day at his new job, he's trying to save the aquarium from bankruptcy and his first budget cut is the costumed mermaid, Molly.

This was a sweet and fast read that is perfect summer reading. While the pair gets off on the wrong foot, they're forced to work together to save the beloved aquarium in town. Max and Molly had some cute moments and entertaining bickering, but I wish we got a bit more depth or emotion from them instead of the insta-love connection. The highlight of the book is the dogs, especially Ursula who is perpetually dressed in a lobster costume and has some of her own hidden talents.

If you need a light story for your beach bag, pick this one up! Thank you Sourcebooks Casablanca for my advance copy in exchange for an honest review.

This was a super cute small town romcom and the pace of this story really flowed nicely. I love a good enemies to lovers, neighbors , small town tropes. And really the cute little dog could have been the star of the whole book. lol. This is a perfect quick read during a trip or lounging around the pool while the Summer is coming to an end. I'm really glad I was able to read and review this one.

Thank you Sourcebooks Casablanca for the the gifted copy.

A Line in the Sand was such a cute story! It's the second in the Turtle Bay series, which I didn't know, but it could be read as a stand alone. I found myself wondering about certain events that were referenced from the first book, but it didn't effect my enjoyment of this one.

This is a cute enemies to "lovers" - and I say that loosely because there is basically. no steam other than a kiss or two. To be honest, that's what this book was missing for me, because I didn't buy the chemistry/attraction between them at all. Molly needed to get past whatever "the tourist" did to her, and Max needed to stop being such a jerk to her.

The thing that made this book was the group of senior citizens. (although the word "octogenarians" was WAY overused). The trio of ladies were an absolute hoot, and they were the highlight of the book.

A cute summer read, overall, almost more of a YA feel just with adults.

𝐓𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬💭:
This is my first book by the author and it won’t be my last. Apparently, this is a part of her stand alone series called Turtle Beach, and because I enjoyed this one a lot, I now want to read the first one! Both stories include really cute dogs and that is just the absolute cherry on top.

Thank you to Sourcebooks Casablanca for this gifted e-ARC in exchange for an honest review. This one published 8/2/22 and is OUT NOW!

𝐁𝐥𝐮𝐫𝐛📝:
When Max drowns by the beach, Molly comes to the rescue and saves the day. Little did she know that Max was the upcoming director of the aquarium she works as a mermaid mascot along with her dog. As max learns all of this, he instantly turns into the grumpy boss who will not have it. But as certain events bring them closer, not only do they realize they work well together, they also realize that they are perfect for each other.

𝐑𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5. I thought this was a cute and quick summer read! I loved the setting of Turtle Beach. A quaint and small coastal town where everyone knows everyone. Complete with senior octogenarians who call themselves Charlie’s Angels who will brighten up your day, and small town gatherings that make you want to participate in as well. This cute little rom-com had the grumpy/sunshine trope and the male MC Max was the grump. I was irritated to some extent because he couldn’t make up his mind about what he wants and his push and pull treatment towards Molly was confusing. Pride definitely got in the way a lot, but of course HEA is something you’ll look forward to in this one.

A real life Little Mermaid. I loved these two and the beach/ocean setting made the perfect summer romance. Sweet Ursula was a real one for bringing these two together. Such a fun read.

I received an EArc of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I really loved this book. I am slowly starting to fall more and more in love with small town romances. I loved the characters in this and how different Molly and Max are from each other. Molly is so optimistic and a dreamer, while Max is such a stickler for the rules and logical. They're such opposites, but they work so well together. I loved the dogs in this. Ursula is so adorable and I loved the role that she played in this book. Also, I just love the meddling Charlie Angels in this. They were even more hilarious than the first book.

This was a sweet, feel-good, dual POV, enemies to lovers, small town romance between dog/turtle lover Molly, the aquarium's Mermaid greeter, and Max, the grumpy new director who starts life off in Turtle Beach completely on the wrong foot.

I loved the small town characters, the retiree matchmakers, the turtle rescues and the messily, relatable MCs. Molly has a bit of social anxiety while Max just can't seem to make a good impression on Molly even though he's completely smitten.

Perfect for fans of Sally Thorn's Second first impressions. Much thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early digital copy in exchange for my honest review. I loved this cover AND it was good as an audiobook narrated by Renee Dorian and Justin Price too.

Line in the Sand is a cute, fun, enemies to lovers story with a sunshine and grump in a small island town. This quick read is inspired by The Little mermaid and features Molly, who works at the local aquarium as a mermaid, the new guy in town/Molly’s boss Max, and a memorable pup named Ursula. Ursula and Molly’s meddling senior citizen friends make for funny scenes. Line in the Sand pairs well with puppy kisses, beach days, a big sugary latte from the bookstore cafe, dinglehoppers, and who’s-its and whats-it’s galore.

A Line in the Sand by Teri Wilson is a really cute, summer beach read. It's an enemies to lovers, opposites attract romance with a little fake dating thrown in for good measure. The setting of a North Carolina small town beach is perfect! While this is a series, the book can be read as a standalone. However, I always recommend reading the series as it is worth it!
