I have to say that I tried finishing this, but I had a real hard time getting into the characters. This book was just not for me.

I actually really enjoyed this book despite it being my first dip into the D/S BDSM book world. I thought that Alyssa did a really great job of building the main character to have a believable transition into this new world.

The book is about Samantha, a young woman who is in college for a law degree that she isn’t sure she even wants to do. She has a medically diagnosed issue with her amygdala that makes her unable to feel fear. This book explores her discovering how to navigate a world where she doesn’t have boundaries and stumbling into the world of Dom / submissive (D/S) BDSM. She meets Oleg, a hunky man who, along with his 4 “brothers” run a BDSM club. There is an immediate connection between Oleg and Samantha, with Samantha also forming relationships with 3 of Oleg’s close friends he considered brothers.

It’s a semi-dark (think, soft mafia romance with BDSM), moody, spicy, reverse harem romance.

Overall, it was well written and enjoyable. It was just a smutty steamy book with one very interesting plot development. I definitely think that there was room for a more exciting plot to be added around Oleg and his uncle though. I kept expecting there to be a bit more but it all just resolved itself super quickly and easily.

In summary, it's a good smutty book that I would recommend people who are interested in this type of genre read. It was a really great palate cleanser between some other fantasy romance I've been reading recently.

Overall rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ 3.5 stars, rounded to a generous 4 as it was exactly what I was expecting and what I needed when I read it.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is a more intense BDSM book than others I have read. More than a blindfold and a spanking, this may be an uncomfortable read for some.
It took a little while for me to get into this book, mainly because Samantha was a spoilt rich American. It is only once you find out more about her background, do you gain some more perspective and perhaps empathy for her character.
Oleg was a compelling character. Despite being bound by familial obligations, he was able to manipulate the situation to his benefit. The dynamic he had with his friends was also intriguing although I didn’t feel he was the obvious “head of the group”.
I liked reading on how Samantha fit into the group of Oleg and his friends since she wasn’t a typical submissive but I didn’t really feel the emotional connection between her and Oleg.
An interesting read but it didn’t enthrall me.

I received this book from the publisher through netgalley.com in exchange for an honest review.

This is not your average BDSM romance. Samantha is not your average sub. She has a medical condition that keeps her from feeling fear. In truth she gets excited by it instead. The 4 kings who own the most prestigious BDSM club in Paris soon learn that this is a dangerous combination. With no fear there is no boundary, no line that can be crossed before Samantha will safe word. It is up to them to control themselves, putting her more in charge than a sub should be. As they struggle to figure out how to handle Samantha and themselves Oleg, one of the kings finds himself struggling with his feelings, as he falls deeper into his relationship with Sam but his family mafia connections may put her in danger.

I really enjoyed this book, it is definitely different than most of the other bdsm books out there. I think it may be more intense in some ways due to Samantha's condition. One thing that did bother me is that the Taylor they all used for their Fetish gear, Maurice was often referred to by the pronouns she/her which it was stated she preferred but then halfway through it was switched to referring Maurice as he. I applaud the author wanting to show inclusion but it needed to be carried throughout the book.

I tried to read this and get into it but at 25% it just wasnt for me. I felt that the two main characters were flat and i was not interested in seeing where their relationship developed at all. I was getting fifty shades of grey vibes and i didnt enjoy that series

This was a fun read with so much action! The character development was strong and I definitely got a sense of everyone's personality and how they all tied together. The storyline had a good pace and I was eager to pick up the book and keep reading and sad to see it end. This book ended on a cliffhanger I didn't see coming and I'm already looking forward to the next in the series!

hmm how to rate this..
I wanted there to be MORE of a RH vibe instead of the many MF MF MF MF MF MF moments and the ONE RH moment or menage. I think it would have taken the build up of the story to a better place. I loved the concept and the characters and the intrigues but it seemed each bit was missing something so the book felt disconnected all over the place. I am sure if book 2 was part of this it would make sense.. or I am hoping?
This was a slow build up and easillyy out down.. however i picked it up again a day later and read the entire bit in a sitting.. I wanted more violence, crime, intrigue, drama, sex (all of the scenes were steamy but felt disconnected)

arrg how to rate this..... 4.5 Lionceau Stars

I received an arc from NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.

Brothers, not by blood, find Samantha is just what they need. She pushes them to be a better form of themselves but one brother in particular finds himself having more feelings for her than he intended.

Can they figure out their roles with her before she breaks and runs away?

Alyssa Turner masterfully wove the emotion here is this story!
It was filled with action and adventure right from the start.
Oleg and Samantha's relationship was amazing. Like steamy, dreamy amazing!
This was sexy as hell, intriguing, interesting and wonderfully well written.
It will leave your head spinning. Most of all it will leave you begging for more.
The intimate scenes were hot... but also showed the love and respect for each other that built through the book.
I hope this author writes more books such as this one.
I can't wait for book two!
