This is not a bad book, okay. But it's a whole lot of the same drama and same scenes we've seen in the previous two books and if that's what you're here for then go for it. I just got exhausted by like 25% and kept hoping it would get better. But it didn't - at least for me. I've heard that it gets better after the 50% mark but I can't keep trying to slog through it to get to that point.

At first, I hated this book series for what it did to me at the end of the first - I had a feeling that one of the characters/relationships wasn't going to work out and I was devastated. But, I love the way Katharine McGee writes and when my sadness died down, I knew I wanted to jump back into this world. I loved the way the series wrapped up and I'm glad I read this!

I had been highly anticipating the third installment of American Royals and I'm happy to say that it sure lived up to my expectations! Once I found myself back in the world of the royal Washington family I didn't want to put down the book until it was finished. I enjoyed both the story line and the character development in this one. I'm looking forward to finding out what happens in American Royal IV!

With every book I read in this series I fall more in love with it. I still enjoy Sam’s perspective the most but the other characters have definitely grown on me. But that cliff hanger, that just was not cool. I need answers desperately. Sam you need to pick up the phone okay? I know you and Marshall had plans but things drastically changed.

I love this series and these characters so much. Picking up where Majesty left off, we find that Beatrice has put her wedding to Teddy on hold while she attends a summit for the Kings and Queens. There she meets Louisa from France and learns more about what to expect in her role. Samantha and Marshall dating when his family wouldn't approve. Nina and Daphne on the same aide with a common enemy? I loved catching up with these characters and can't wait until the next installment. Cliffhanger, anyone?!

After reading the first two books, plus the Prequel, I just had to continue the series. Thanks, NetGalley!

The third book in the series takes place after the ending of ‘Majesty’. Beatrice is queen, but her wedding to Teddy has been put on hold. With an upcoming meeting of Kings and Queens from around the world, she meets up with Princess Louise, representing France, and forms a friendship with her. But can she be trusted? Meanwhile, Samantha’s in love with Lord Marshall, but how will his family take to him dating her? Meanwhile, Nina and Daphne form an unlikely alliance in order to take down the manipulative Lady Gabriella, who has her sights set on Jefferson. Will their old rivalries stand in their way?

I am a fan of the American Royals series and I like how each chapter tells about one of the four main characters: Queen Beatrice, Princess Samantha, status chaser Daphne, and commoner Nina. I liked that Daphne and Nina banded together to take down a common enemy. I love the moments where we can see how the characters would be in our world where America doesn't have a royal family.

I didn't like Gabriella, but the character was written well. I liked Louise and all the side characters. There wasn't really anything I didn't enjoy about the book.

American Royals fans, this book is a must on your list. There is some romance in it and characters you'll be rooting for to get together and to separate. Pick this one up.

I wasn't a huge fan of this series, but I read one and two so I figured I'd give three a try, and I just wasn't into it.

The third book in the American Royals series is my fav. Granted there were still some cringey parts as there were in the first two books but overall I enjoyed the story so much more. I mean we are getting a 4th book so I can't wait to see what happens next for these characters.

The cliffhanger ending will leave you desiring the next installment immediately! Full of scandal, intrigue, and romance - McGee continues to shine in this look at America's royal family!

I loved seeing my favorite royals in a more grown-up setting. We also get more world-building in this book. Can't wait for the next book in the series.

This series is the best kind of ridiculous, soapy nonsense presented in a way that makes you want to devour it. I enjoyed continuing on with this story; if you liked the beginning of the series, you won't be disappointed.

I adore trilogies but I always agree that the first one in the series is usually the best! This is my least favorite book in the American Royals series so far, and while I am delighted that the author has found her niche, with a great hook, this one was a miss for me.

Our story continues, and for me, this third installment is much better than the second. The world expands slightly as we see Beatriz and Teddy continuing in their new roles, Nina and Daphne realizing they have a common enemy, and Samantha experiencing more challenges in love. Samantha was my favorite in this one, and I'm definitely rooting for her happy ending.

This series is so fun! It’s wild to imagine what America would be like if George Washington decided to be king. This book ended on a big cliffhanger and I can’t wait for number 4, whenever it comes out!

3.5 stars
This book had allllll the drama. First off, this is not the final book (like I thought) so be prepared for a crazy ending. Secondly I felt like some of the themes of this book were a little repetitive with the whole duty over love and mean girl act. With that being said, I did enjoy this book and I am looking forward to the next one.

I loved this book! Well, I love all books in this series, I hope it never ends, realistically I know that’s not possible but a read/a fan/a girl can dream, right?
There is a whole lot of relationship issues
Obviously rivals and allies
Friends in the oddest places
I don’t want to give too much away because I want you to read it, devour it, and love it as the rest of us have.
Nina, Daphne, Beatrice, Samantha are all out in their glory
I feel like it ended on a cliffhanger, so hopefully a girl can get her wish and get another book in this series!
Thanks to NetGalley for the chance to read and review this title.

⭐️⭐️⭐️ Rivals (American Royals #3) by Katherine McGee

This has been a very surprising series. It seemed like it came from nowhere. But what a very pleasant surprise. The first two books in the series were fabulous. The conclusion of the second book seemed to wrap everything up nicely so I was delighted to find out there was a third book!

It took me a little while to get into this one. It dragged at the beginning, a little bit slow, I put it down, picked it up, put it down, picked it up, which is why it doesn’t get four stars. But when the drama and surprises began they flipping began. The second part of the book was full of so much! There were revelations, friendships, love, and angst - everything you’re looking for in a young adult romance. With the cliffhanger at the end, there will definitely be a fourth book…which I will be reading!

Thank you to NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for providing me with an ARC of this title for review.

This third installment in the American Royals series brings all our favorite characters back together: Nina, Sam, Marshall, Jefferson, Daphne, Teddy, and Beatrice-- and introduces some new characters.... or are they rivals? Gabriella is the just-returned-from-Europe-with-her-father-the-diplomat college freshman who has known Jeff since they were babies. And Louise is the French queen regent who may be the closest thing Beatrice has to a peer,,, until her dementia-riddled father wakes from his coma, and he's just as hard on her as he was when she was growing up, the only child of the king --and a girl to boot. Will these American royals and their polygons of friends and relationships survive the American-hosted Conference of Kings?!

The story is fun for readers who enjoy The Royals and other royalty-centric gossip dramas, but it didn't burn a fire in me to keep reading.
