Race for the Escape is a middle grade (3rd-6th grade) adventure. Ami arrives at an Escape room for her birthday. She teams up with 4 other kids to try to find the Answer to solve the puzzle to get out of the game. However everything changes in the first room and becomes more real than what she was expecting. There are many twists and turns in this story to get to the end. The author posses some interesting questions for kids at the end getting them to think of the future. Overall I think this was a fun read that kids will enjoy.

My family and I have been playing escape rooms for over 6 years. We absolutely love the experience, especially the ability to work together as a team, as we each have a very different skill set. When I found this title, I was immediately intrigued.

Five players come together to find the ANSWER to save the world. The five teens do not know each other and have to work as a team to complete the task. As the game progresses, players come to see the game characteristics of each other (Finder, Clever One, and Destroyer).

I enjoyed the book. I think young adult readers (middle school mainly) will enjoy the experiences the characters go through, whether they have or have not experienced an ask room. I think the twist at the end will be an insight as to who THEY are in the world and who they can become.
