This was great for my 9 year old, who often gets intimidated by chapter books that are just text but is a lot more likely to start (and finish) an illustrated book. He just got a laptop for his birthday and is a self-proclaimed gamer, so he really enjoyed the characters and plot of this book, and asked for book 2.
