Thank you Netgalley for giving me an ARC of this book. All opinions are my own.

I was really excited when I saw a Janice Thompson book on Netgalley. I've read a few of her books and I have really enjoyed them. Her writing style is really great so I was looking forward to reading a devotional style book written by her. I'm really glad I did. This is such a sweet book. I think this would be perfect for girls aged 10-14 but I think anyone of any age can enjoy it. Each page offers a prayer and a bible verse. This is especially good for those who feel like they don't know how or what to pray. It gives great examples of prayers that you can say or they can offer you inspiration to come up with new prayers of your own. It shows that talking to God shouldn't be difficult and should be like talking to a friend. The prayers are broken down into multiple categories including friendship, peer pressure, death, and how to have a relationship with Jesus. I highly recommend this book and I look forward to reading more of Janice's books.

This was a really sweet devotional prayer book! I think it would be best for ages 8-12 because it’s more on the younger side with the topics of friends, drama, and popularity, but I still enjoyed it and those a bit older could possibly use it as a companion book to their Bible reading.

There’s a sections with handful of devotionals under each topic (Friends, Family, Relationship with God, Attitude, Beautiful in Him, Peer Pressure, Good Choices, Hard Work, Salvation in Jesus, Growing Up, Tough Stuff, Joy and Thanksgiving, Serving, Big Stuff Ahead!, The World Around Me, Trust, Ups and Downs, & Discoveries).

I have to add that I really liked that the devotional titled “Modesty” didn’t only mention clothing and outward appearance. It also mentioned about not wanting to use bad words or make dirty jokes. The prayer is asking to be pure and spotless in every area of the girl’s life.

A pro and con to this devotional would be that it’s a bit basic as it only has a prayer and Scripture. That’s a pro because there’s no possibility of twisting Scriptures like in other devotionals that expand on one verse for a couple paragraphs, but can also be a con because it’s not a very in-depth devotional, if you’re looking for that. It was still a cute devotional, though, and I liked a lot of the prayers.

This is a great prayer resource to have for young girls. I really enjoyed it and can’t wait to buy a copy to put away for when my daughter is old enough.

I received access to the book via Netgalley, but my opinion is all my own.
This book is broke into many pertinent categories with a small introduction to each category. The prayers and verses are great. I believe this would be very inspiring to girls as well as relatable while helping them grow spiritually. To be honest after only reading and skimming the first third maybe I found myself trying to purchase a copy for my niece before realizing I'm viewing an early copy and couldn't. Therefore I clearly recommend it and will be purchasing a copy or more once it comes out...
