I devoured this book! I love a twisty thriller. This book is not to be missed. I was on the edge of my seat and could not stop reading Never Go Home. Christopher Swann never disappoints. I recommend this one.
Many thanks to the author, Crooked Lane Press and NetGalley for a complimentary copy of this book. My opinions are my own.

"Never Go Home" delivers an exhilarating ride through the Faulkner family saga. Suzy takes center stage, injecting vibrant life and drama into the series. From compelling characters to gripping plot twists, this unputdownable thriller is a must-read for suspense enthusiasts. Each installment surpasses the last, making it a captivating journey through the Faulkners' world. Highly recommended for thriller/suspense aficionados!

While this book is action packed and full of twists, I felt it was too over the top at times and not believable. It took me a bit to get into it since it's the 2nd in the series, but that is 100% on me and not the author. I think this book was just trying to do too much.

Immersive and entertaining. A recommended purchase for collections where crime and thrillers are popular.

So I didn’t realize until after I received this ARC that this was part of a series. I hadn’t read the previous book before reading this one so it took me a little while to catch on. I would like to reread this book after reading the previous book. Regardless, I liked this book a lot.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the review copy.

This is the second book in this series, and I liked it just as much as the first. I feel like it was more action packed because of the switch to Susannah's point of view. It was less of the please don't do this coming from me as a read it. I would continue with the series. If you liked the first one you will like this one too.

Rating 3/5

This book grabs the read from the first page, taking you on a roller coaster ride, and certainly doesn't let go until the end. The book was full of twists and turns, and I will read more by Mr Swann in future!

I couldn’t put this book down. Intriguing characters that drew me into their story. Kept trying to figure out what could possibly happen next. Don’t miss out.

I read this without reading the first book and it was the perfect series standalone. I didn’t feel like I was lost and I still felt like I got to know the characters backstory. It has a good mix of thriller and mystery aspects. I loved how Susannah is able to take little information and use it to gain the knowledge she needs. It kept me on my toes and was face paced. I look forward to continuing with this series.

Interesting and well written I just personally couldn’t get into the story. Just a little slow and unbelievable at some points. Ending predictable and also way too drawn out. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Sorry. I had to pass and give this a low rating. That was just unpleasant.

Thanks to Netgalley! Hoping for a better read next time!

Captivating writing from Swann, as always. His ability to narrow ones focus on the fundamentals of storytelling is phenomenal. Never Go Home needs to be used as the blueprint for thriller novels. Action packed from beginning to end. The twists, while some obvious, left me wanting more of the same. We gravitate towards that which reminds us of our love for writing and reading, which Swann nailed in this book.

Never Go Home is now the second installment of the Faulkner Family series, and though it took me a while to get into this one, I ended up absolutely loving the middle all the way to the end. It was full of action at that point, and in my opinion, had a much darker storyline than Never Turn Back did. It also ended on a bit of a cliffhanger, so I am happy that I already have an advanced copy of Never Back Down on my NetGalley shelf! It was fine as a standalone, but I think you should start with the first book to get a better idea of who these characters are and what motivates them, especially Susannah. I'm not sure if I fully believe the transformation into a vigilante and all-around badass for her, but it reminded me a bit of Alice Vega, so I am here for it. Plus, Susannah riding a motorcycle was a nice touch.

While the first book focused on Susannah's brother, this installment was all about her, and I loved that Joshilyn Jackson narrated the audiobook. I first listened to her narration because she reads her own books, and it makes me happy that she also narrates other books because she is fantastic. I highly recommend picking Never Go Home up on audio, and Jackson's unique voice was perfect for our MC Susannah. She even read the acknowledgments! This installment made me really excited for the next book, especially with the baby cliffhanger. I think this series would be great as movies or a miniseries of some sort, and if you enjoy thrillers, you should enjoy both of the books in the series so far. The mystery was surprising, and I loved not only Christopher Swann's writing, but the twists as well!

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

This book was sent to me electronically for review by Netgalley…mystery and intrigue…however, this book did. Not appeal to me…the language was too rough and too often, taking away from the story…others may not mind this and might enjoy the plot…the author is good at weaving a mystery…

I’m not a big fan of busy-ness or too much crazy and complicated characters . I wasn’t feeling connected to the main character and that is an issue for me though it the book.

This one fell a little flat for me. The main character is impossible to like. For the majority of the book I actually found myself hoping she’d lose. The things she said and did were just so off the wall and unhinged. I know we’re supposed to believe that she’s some super badass, but it was just so unrealistic that I had a hard time believing it.

2.5 stars, rounded down to 2. Thank you to NetGalley for this copy of the book in exchange for my honest review.

Never Go Home by Christopher Swann.
Orphaned at age ten by a violent home invasion, Susannah Faulkner grew up wild, her stubbornness the only thing harder than her heart. Since then, she’s used her skills to put a boot in the faces of those who deserve it. She knows she’s wired wrong and living a dangerous and violent life, but she’s determined to wring something decent from the world before she leaves it. Then she gets word her brother Ethan needs her help and returns home to Atlanta. But in the airport, she finds her Uncle Gavin suffering a heart attack. Before he is rushed to the hospital, Gavin whispers a single word to Suzie: Peaches. She’s determined to uncover the meaning behind the cryptic message, but Ethan is also deep in trouble. An ex-soldier and ex-con named Finn appeared on his doorstep with a disturbing story: fifteen years earlier, Finn served with their father in Iraq, where they stole millions in cash. Now the money is missing, and Finn wants his share—or else.
I really did enjoy this book. Had a great plot. I loved Suzannah. I hope there is more to come. 4*.
