Perfect little book to read with my son. Such vibrant colours and easy to read story makes it a great story time together.
I love the story as well, it’ll be one to read as he grows with a lovely message.
Thank You NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me an early copy to review.

Lovely book, with illustrations as bright and colorful as they should be for this age. Highly recommend for pre-school teachers and parents as kids will enjoy reading about trains.

This book has cute illustrations and simple text. Children who are really interested in trains and transportation would probably enjoy it. The message of the story is a common one, small and overlooked characters can often do things that larger ones can’t.

Delmar is a street trolly but he's not very big.
BooksGoSocial and Net Galley let me read this book for review (thank you). It will be published on the 26th of April.

He gets in line to pick up passengers but no one can see him behind the big trollies. How is he going to get noticed?

He goes in between the big ones and gets his passengers. He's happy!

Delmar the Dinky is a children's book about a small streetcar trying to do his job. Although he is able to bring small groups of passengers to the World's Fair in St. Louis, the people waiting cannot hear Delmar over the sound of the big engines. Can the little trolley find his voice and help the people wanting to visit the fair?

Delmar the Dinky is a cute story about a little trolley, though it is not all that original. Children who love trains like Thomas will like Delmar, as his positive spirit and happy attitude will make kids smile. Delmar is well illustrated, with great facial expressions that bring him to life, but his passengers are not as successfully drawn. Although the background story of the 1904 World's Fair in St. Louis is interesting, it is not enough to propel this book forward. For these reasons, I would hesitate to recommend Delmar the Dinky to other readers.

Disclaimer: I was given an Advanced Reader's Copy by NetGalley and the publisher. The decision to read and review Delmar the Dinky was entirely my own.

A nice little book with plenty of colour and a cute character. I think young audiences would enjoy sharing this with an older reader.

This was such a cute little story. I gave a 2 year old son and he absolutely loved the artwork and bright colors. Definitely recommend for small children.

Cute book. I like the drawings. It reminds me of Thomas the Train or The Little Engine That Could. Delmar is on the search for being the best trolley of all, and he meets his dream when the Conductor picks him.

This book helps build kids' self-esteem and self-confidence. It teaches them to understand that their size doesn’t matter to have faith in themselves and what they can do no matter how difficult it may look.

The brief lesson at the beginning was very helpful. There wasn't really a lesson to be learned from this story besides what a dinky was. I would've liked more to the story. The art was cute

Delmar the Dinky is a cute story of a Dinky (a sort-of tram that runs on rail lines). Luckily, the book has the picture of a real Dinky on the first page, and that helped a lot.
Delmar wants to take the passengers to the World Fair (in 1904) but is stuck behind the longer trains. However, being small has its advantages. Delmar switches tracks and takes people to their destination. Delmar is happy to be successful when the bigger trams fail, and so are we. He’s a sweet little thing, after all. 
The illustrations are lovely and bright. The colors create a happy scene for kids, and you can expect them to ask for a Dinky ride or a train ride after reading the book.
I received an ARC from NetGalley and BooksGoSocial and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I am unable to get access to the arc ecopy as only kindle format is given as the only choice. I have tried several times to download there and read it but the copy is all blank.

Please look into this. I am looking forward to read and review the book as soon as it does.

I love the explanation texts at the beginning of the digital copy of the book. You never know when it's a kids first time reading on a kindle, so explaining how to turn pages and enlarge text in a simple and effective manner is genius. They also take the time to explain what a dinky is, and include real life pictures of them. It's obviously important to know as the subject of the book is a dinky, but I appreciate the lesson all the same.

This short book teaches kids a few different, yet important, lessons. First: you may be the smallest, or just 'different' from the other kids, but you can do things that they can't. Second, you need to use your voice and take up space. As a kid, I was taught that kids are meant to "be seen and not heard" but this book teaches kids to announce your presence, use your voice, be heard, be seen. I think that's so important as I have some trauma thanks to the outdated sentiment. Third, look before you walk, which can of course be applied to look both ways before you cross the street.

The illustration is just cute, and I think this is a great beginner book for kids everywhere.

This is a very cute book about a dinky (that resembles a tram). Poor Delmar is pushed to the back of the line by the other, bigger train cars. But he can do something others can't!

He rushes about and completes all the tasks he is supposed to. Delmar is so proud of himself as he should be!

I read it with my nearly 5-year-old and both of us enjoyed the story and the colourful illustrations.

Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC.

DELMAR the DINKY by Pat Danna

I requested this short children's book to read to my grandson aged three. but was too advanced and did not keep his attention. The illustrations are colourful, but not the story. I also thought the people in the illustration appeared ''old-fashioned''. This could be just my interpretation of the book.

I give a 2 star rating

I WANT TO THANK NETGALLEY FOR THE OPPORTUNITY OF READING THIS BOOK FOR AN HONEST REVIEW

A great book, both content wise and visually. The illustrations were fun and bright. Was fun to read aloud with my young readers who love trains.
