I really enjoyed this story. The plot was straightforward with not too much stress and managed to make me grow to love the characters after some trials and tribulations. It’s a very easy read that plays out with a smooth storyline that warms the heart.

Holly had me loving her immediately, her life is really tragic and I couldn't help but feel for her; she has a wonderful heart. I loved the way she tries to help anyone, even people she really shouldn’t. Sam is so sweet and just as big-hearted as Holly. These two get together for mutual gain and things get better and better from there. I loved the majority of his family too. They make this story even more easy to read.

Overall, this is a sweet easy read romance story and one I would recommend

This was a quick read for me. The story had a great premise though I felt it needed more story, it felt rushed and given just enough detail to make it work. Sam was a man who was worried about the town and the way they talked about him from his past relationship. Most men don't care what the small town talk is, they do there thing in life and move on. When his main goal is to marry Holly for gossip control that is very weird for me to read. Holly has a stronger back bone than Sam ever did. They both have been hurt in the past with life but Holly has more reason to be the way she is than Sam, but surprising is normal overall. She just wants help in her life and a family of her own in the long run. I kept thinking Sam would grow up and realize he needed to quit being so juvenile.
This was not what I was expecting when I started the story, it wasn't horrible, just wish the characters were more developed and more story to give me some depth, especially with her secondary characters who I really liked. I am not giving up on Ms. Robinson because her other books are great reads, this one just didn't do anything for me. Honest review in exchange for ARC.

4 Star Review Second Shot Of Whiskey by Sarah Robinson

Sarah Robinson is a new author to me and I am surprised I have not read her books before. This is Sam Wylde and Holly Glen’s story and was an entertaining read that ticked a number of boxes for me.
Both have been burned in the past and have baggage. Sam is in need of an event planner to help him launch his whiskey distillery and that’s where Holly comes in. He wants to take the focus away from the fact that his brother is marrying his ex.
There was heat and humour but so much going on I got a tad confused at times. When Sam offers to help Holly with the care she needs for her sister who is in a coma they come to an agreement to fake a relationship. However what happens when real feelings suddenly come into play?
Will it bring them together or tear them apart?
I received a copy from the publisher through NetGalley.

This was a really enjoyable romance. The lead characters had great chemistry and the storyline was interesting. I raced through this shortish novel. Really great, well written read. Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for giving me to access to a review copy.

This was a very fast past read and I found myself falling in love with Holly and Sam. I loved the voice the author gave each of them and I want to read more about them. The reason for the 3 star rating was due to I felt that there could have been so much for to this book. We could have had more of the relationship between the two and come on ... how the heck did we not get into more of Grady! That dude got away with a huge no NO! I just wanted more layers into this story and not so rushed.
With that all said don't get me wrong I really liked this book because Holly and Sam together and individually were great characters and their story deserves to be read.
Thank you so much for allowing me to read and acr of this book. I will be on the look out for more from this author.

Quick read...LOVED this book. I really didn't want it to end. I enjoyed the characters and do hope that maybe she will make this a series...fingers crossed. Sam and Holly were such a great couple. It makes a younger version of myself think back to the cute, older, popular guy at my school and think that wishing and hoping really can come true with older versions of ourselves! I would LOVE to learn about the other Wylde's! Bring it on!!!!

I received an arc from NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.

This is a story of a scorned brother who finds a new love quite unexpectedly and quite rushed. Even though their relationship started out as quick fix for both of their life’s problems it blossoms into the real deal.

Great read and Holly and Sam are very relatable characters.m3.5 stars

Very nice read. Sam is hot stuff in his small town. He is trying to get over a betrayal by his girlfriend and his brother. Holly is starting her business over in her hometown. She had always had a crush on Sam in high school. This is a fun story with lighthearted banter and episodes of hilarity. When they meet again for the first time it sets sparks off that changes the trajectory of their lives. Sam has to get over his hurts and learn to trust again to achieve his happy ending with Holly.

Their fake acting turns to love and the marriage becomes real and forever.

This is a Small Town Southern Romance Novel and it is Sam and Holly's story. Sam runs a whiskey business with his cousin Noah and there friend Caleb but when disaster strikes and there event planned walks away there Launch Party is in danger so they need to find someone quickly to save there Launch Party. Holly is an event planner but when there is a terrible car accident putting her sister in a coma Holly is trying desperately to help with the expensive medical treatment that she needs. When Sam and Holly meet and he finds out that she is an event planner Sam sees this as a opportunity to save there Launch Party but then he offers Holly a fake marriage proposal and if she except it Sam will pay for all of Holly's sister's medical costs and also have someone to take to his brother's wedding especially as he doesn't want to be there for his own personal reasons. Omg I absolutely loved this book and I couldn't turn the pages fast enough to see what would happen next and I couldn't put it down as it was so good. This is the first time that I have read anything by Sarah Robinson and she definitely didn't disappoint and I look forward to reading more of her books in the future.

I Voluntarily Reviewed a Copy of This Book.

This book was fun, flirty, has family drama, tragedy, forgiveness, and as Holly said on several occasions, the sex was good, really good. It was easy to read, captured my attention, and I didn't put it down until I had finished the book. There are lots to the book that will make you feel many emotions. When I first read what the book was about, I thought I was too old to enjoy it. But I kept thinking about it and requested to read it. No, definitely not too old, so I think any age will enjoy it. I did.
I received an ARC from Author Collective 2022 through NetGalley.

Great story right here! 5 whiskey stars for this one!
Holly is an event planner, so when Sam approaches her about handling the release party for his new whiskey, she jumps at the chance because she needs the money. What happens when these two get together to plan a party, also leads to plans to help Holly out financially, as well as help Sam get his family off his back for his brother's wedding to his ex.
I devoured this book in a day it was so good, make sure you get your copy now and enjoy!

4.25⭐

This is the first book in the 100 Proof Series and was originally called Wylde Fire. But after some intense edits, additional scenes and a fresh (hot) cover 😉 It's been re-released as a Second Shot of Whiskey and it's certainly a story that had me wholly absorbed and entertained throughout. And with a fast-paced, fresh, sexy, sassy, southern, fun, heartfelt and at times emotional storyline, it's one I'd happily recommend to others.

I love the fake marriage line. It draws me in every time. Holly and Sam need each other for different reasons. I love how they upstaged a ceremony. The heat is pulsating between the two. Take a walk on the Wylde side.

So this was a great book. I started to read it several days ago, got sick, had to take care of hubby and then promptly forgot all about it.
Fast forward to last night and I started reading it all over again - from the beginning. 24 hours later, I’m finished. Kinda sad. Wish the story was longer. I’m going to miss Sam and Holly.

Overall, I really enjoyed this one! Great characters! A wonderful start to a new series. And that epilogue sure has me wondering who will have the next book.

ARC provided by NetGalley, thank you.

So even though I hate the taste of whiskey, I sort of love the whiskey empire trope. Unfortunately, this one didn't do it for me. There are some fun scenes, some good lines, but the premise doesn’t make sense and there isn’t enough conflict to make it compelling for me.

We learn about the characters largely through repetitious internal monologue, and when we do see the characters in action, their actions are often inconsistent with whatever has been happening in the monologue. I felt like stock concepts were being thrown at me independent of any relationship to the character perspective they are supposed to come from. Things like:
- anger on pause while hero ogles heroine’s curves
- hero can’t think because…that ass! (“Every coherent thought fled his brain as Sam paused to admire her blue jeans molded to a firm round ass. Damn.”)
- omg his cock isn't little, heck it isn't even normal, it is SO BIG
- gosh I've really tried but I just can't zip my dress
- you saw us kissing but HE kissed ME

The premise was tough to buy into. Brand new whiskey company needs to have a big party to launch their brand because otherwise they can’t be a success, but even though they aren’t selling anything yet they've already got national distribution lined up. So the party isn't really going to make or break your brand, yeah? And, even though this party is supposed to take place in Nashville, there is only one event planner who could possibly pull it off. Because Nashville is some tiny little backwater where nobody knows anything about big events and so there couldn’t possibly be more than one event planner who can handle your whiskey launch. I am not sold on this idea at any level.

The conflict is dead in the water at 25%. All the internal character motivation and conflict that is set up before that point is entirely resolved after a "fifty percent sober, but one hundred percent serious" proposal. Sure, they still need to put on a party, but like, they’ve already got distribution and gobs of money, so it’s going to be fine anyway. There is zero interpersonal tension between the hero and heroine and they’re about to bang, so this is basically the HEA but there’s still 75% of the book left to go.

And then...I really understand that sometimes there are typos, and there are different kinds of editing, and the state of publishing and blah blah blah, and I am by no means perfect in the typo department. But the description for this specifically says, "Formerly titled Wylde Fire and published in 2019. It has since received intense edits, scene additions, and a brand new cover and title!" You’ve just promised me “intense edits”—a very broad promise which could create a lot of different types of expectations in me as a reader. Of course, one of my hopes is usually a typo-free reading experience, though I rarely expect it. But I do really hope in the editing process that there is at least one person who points out that “beat red” is intensely different from “beet red.”

Despite some decent lines and some neat concepts, I couldn't connect with the characters or buy into the premise.

A great book from a great series, and incidentally also a great title! The book is fun, lighthearted and yet has some glimpses into deeper issues and really tangled emotions, a lovely couple with flaws on display that they visibly work through and react to. A fab plot and, as ever, a very sexy hero.

The story of Sam and holly, who start a fake engagement to benefit them both, but will they fall for each other for real along the way?
A fast paced read. I like how it is told from both of their points of view,

This book had a good storyline but there was too much emphasis on the ‘steamy’ details for me. That aspect made it a very quick read as I skipped through those parts and they spoiled the book for me as I’d prefer to have them implied rather than detailed. I do realise that many people like this type of writing and I’m sure they will love the book for that but I did like the developing romance and the underpinning story.
