Not much to say about this--it is solid and will surely become a staple for me. I'm not a huge baker, but I am a sucker for cookies and brownies. I love that this book focuses on these sorts of desserts, as I am not super interested in anything else really. I honestly think this is the perfect baking book for someone like me--sometimes I want something beyond a classic brownie, and this book has wonderful ways to mix it up!

Five stars! I love to bake, especially cookies and bars, so this book is such a perfect fit. There are so many amazing choices it's hard to decide what to make first, but trust me -- no matter what you pick, you can’t go wrong. From Churro Cookies to Salted Caramel Ginger Sandwiches, Peanut Butter Stuffed Brownies to Strawberry Shortcake Cups, and even a selection of treats for your furry BFF. Every single one of these recipes looks like a winner!

The recipes are all simple and straightforward, with no ingredients that won’t be found in the average home pantry. Each one is accompanied by a stunning full-color photo, making your decision all the harder! Even as an experienced baker, I appreciate the hacks, rules and explanations in the opening chapter, not to mention tips and variations included along with the recipes. Measurements are given in cups and metric, which is both thoughtful and helpful.

I am so happy to have a copy of this cookbook in my baking arsenal, and wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone who loves baking (and eating!) delicious treats.

I am so grateful to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing group/Harvard Common Press for the opportunity to read and review Crazy for Cookies, Brownies, and Bars.

This is such a fun baking book!

This book is absolutely choked full of fun recipes, delicious looking pictures, and clear instructions! Every recipe has a picture and ingredients listed in both cups and grams to make sure you can get it exactly right. The book itself is so fun to look through, and while it has a lot of the staple cookies and brownie recipes, it also has a lot of unique ones. Some of my favourites are ice cream cookies, orange dream cookies, churro cookies, pb&j sandwich cookies, bacon and caramel brownies, and so, so, so much more.

For anyone looking for a sugar rush and some really fun baking recipes, this book is an amazing one!

Special thanks to the publishers and netgalley for an online copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Thanks to NetGalley and Harvard Common Press for the digital copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

This book is amazing! It includes many different recipes for cookies, brownies and such in many wonderful ways (there's even a chapter dedicated to recipes that require no baking and one for dog cookies!).

Before the recipes per se there's an introduction on ingredients, tools and storing that is pretty useful.

The recipes have clear and easy to follow instructions, beautiful pictures, and info like yielding and prep time and also tips.

I definitely recommend this if you are a baking enthusiast.

It's a winning cookbook for me when photos are included and this book is packed with them. You can drool over the pictures while you wait for the actual product to bake in your oven. I can't wait to try so many of these recipes.

I received this book for free from Netgalley in exchange of an honest review,

Crazy for Cookies, Brownies, and Bars is a mouth watering recipe book for sweet toothed bakers. There is a wide variety of recipes from cookie favourites to dog treats. The instructions are easy to follow and there are lots of lush colour photographs. Lots of additional information is included so the book is suitable for all levels. The only downside is the problem of which delicious recipe to choose each time you open it.

Thank you to Netgalley and Quarto Publishing Group for the chance to read Crazy for Cookies, Brownies and Bars.

This is the ultimate book for any baker and just the average person who enjoys a good cookie, or has a sweet tooth.

Cookies are my weakness, my Kryptonite. One of my favourite things to do, besides reading is baking cookies. So when I saw this book on Netgalley, I had to request it and felt so lucky when I was approved and sent an e copy.

I've never seen more delicious looking cookies and brownies in my life. I'm not just saying that, honestly I was drooling on the first page 🤤😋

There are some very original recipes in the book that I've never seen before. I hate it when you buy a cookbook and it's basically the same recipe as in every other cookbook, with maybe one slight change. All of these recipes are brand new to me and I wanted to try baking them all as soon as possible.

Before I left this review I wanted to try out one of the recipes. I decided to go for the chocolate caramel pecan cookies and I can honestly say they were incredible. I can't wait to get baking the next lot, I'm going to try the pb&j sandwich cookie's 😋

There are even recipes in the book for my fur babies. From pumpkin to ginger biscuits just for them.

I can highly recommend this book and I'm super grateful that I was sent a copy of the e book.

This is a cookie, brownie, and bar recipe book and contains 85 recipes to follow.

It has been divided into 8 main chapters (no of recipes) along with an Introduction:
- Cookie jar favourites (15)
- Brownies (11)
- Blondies and Bars (13)
- Cookie cakes, skillet bakes, and cups (9)
- crazy cookies (15)
- Stuffed and sandwiched (10)
- No-bake cookies and bars (9)
- dog cookies (3)

The Introduction provides details of the key ingredients that are used, alongside tips for frostings, tools required and how to store and freeze your bakes.

This book has both imperial and metric measurements in the ingredient list - hooray! It lets you know how many it will make, how long the prep time is, chill time if required plus how long to bake. Some of the recipes also have tips such as mixing different coloured chocolate chips or leave off some frosting. The recipes also include how long they last in a storage jar, assuming you haven't scoffed them all, or how long in the freezer. There are some American ingredients on the list such as zuchiini and graham cracker crumbs, which are digestive biscuits here in the UK. This book also has a colour photograph next to each recipe, so I can see what really appeals to me and my family.

So what's on the list to try? Well I like the sound of the skillet brownie for two and ice cream cookies (the ice cream goes in the mixture). My daughter and I made stuffed Nutella cookies recently and they were yummy!

Overall this is a delightful book and one I would certainly have in my collection of cookery books.

I received this book from Netgalley in return for a honest review.

A delectable book of treats and tricks! I loved the different recipes and am looking forward to baking some more of them. The pictures were great and really made me hungry. I liked the section on dog treats, but was curious as to why the author never specified if they were also good for human consumption. That was really my only issue with the book. Delicious!

I am a cookie snob. Don't offer me any sub-par cookies (but I don't think that will be a problem here). The recipes all look amazing - and I now have several more in my to-be-baked list!

For my friends who are novice bakers, these recipes all look very straightforward, no fuss, require no special equipment, and no real guesswork. The kids can help. Bake your own cookies - they taste so much better than the ones from the cookie aisle.

I love baking sweet treats, especially cookies, so when I saw a cookbook called, Crazy for Cookies, Brownies, and Bars… well, the deal was sealed!

Dorothy Kern is a new author for me, but when I got a load of some of their other titles, I knew I’d be adding a few to my wish list! I’m particularly tempted by Dessert Mash-ups! Though I digress.

Dorothy Kern also includes fantastic tips and tool recommendations.

Just to tempt you with a few: Banana Nut Cookies, Toffee Chippers, and Peanut Butter Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies. Not only do these recipes sound scrumptious, but the photos will encourage you to make each one!

If ever there were an "ultimate" cookie book, this will be it! It has great variety, including no-bake and specialty cookies such as stuffed and skillet cookies. The photography is stunning--I think I gained 10 pounds just looking at the photos! And, I really enjoyed reading the author's introduction to each recipe. Here are just a few of the unique recipes included in this book: Stuffed Carrot Cake Cookies, Lime in the Coconut Cookies, Mochadoodles, Orange Dream Cookies and Cinnamon Blondies. I will definitely be buying this cookbook for myself and also for friends/relatives who love to bake. Outstanding!
