I have read many of this author’s books and always enjoy them. This book is no different. As a “who done it” type of novel, it had me wondering just that up until the end. I enjoyed the characters and the plot was intriguing. It seems written in a way to prepare for a series of books following the main character into new mysteries. I highly recommend.

I would like to thank NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book. David Baldacci is one of my favorite authors. I have read many of his books. The 6:20 Man was quite enjoyable. I was hooked from the beginning. The character of Travis Devine was a wonderful lead character. I have to say my favorite character from the book was his roommate Valentine. I wanted more from him since he was so funny. I was a little lost with all the talk about the financial world, but it didn’t take away from my enjoyment of this book. I thought I had figured out who the killer was, but I was wrong. I could definitely see more books in a series of Travis Devine.

A disappointing Baldacci thriller to say the least. Protagonist Travis Devine quits his successful
Army career under mysterious circumstances to join the high pressure investment firm of Cowel & Comely. What appears to be a simple suicide of his co-worker Sara Ewes turns out to be much more than that and Devine becomes the primary suspect.

Baldacci can really write fun fast paced action stories, but The 6:20 Man it becomes so convoluted with implausibilties that it is difficult to suspend disbelief. As a reader I can sometimes be fine with that but I kept getting impatient and muttered ugh in frustration of the ridiculousness of it all. Too many incidences come out of nowhere, but not in a good way.

The backstory on the characters goes out the window to keep the pace going and simply added a few tidbits for convenient purposes. I tend to like Baldacci novels as fun little quick mindless reads, but this just felt like a disservice to his readers.

Baldacci proves once again why he's at the top of every thriller fan's 'Must Read' list. The 6:20 Man is an engaging, surprising, and surprisingly emotional action thriller. Fantastic pacing, interesting characters, and a unique plot will keep readers flipping through the pages.

The 6:20 Man is a new stand-alone novel from David Baldacci.

"Every morning Travis gets on the 6:20 commuter train to Manhattan where he works as a low-level analyst at a prestigious investment firm. 'Til one morning he gets an anonymous email that a colleague is dead by suicide...in the building. Travis gets pulled into looking into a conspiracy where it's impossible to tell the good guys from the bad guys. And it looks like a killer has their eye on Travis..."

This book has the feel of the Camel Club series. People in power that want more money and more power. And their not worried about getting rid of some people to get their way.
Travis is a new character from Baldacci. He's similar to previous characters but still has enough of his own personality to feel different and fresh.
Baldacci keeps you guessing on whose an enemy and whose a friend. This is an interesting look at Wall St and big money and the rat race that people puts them in for a chance at a certain lifestyle.

There is resolution but the ending sets up for more stories with this character. It's the same fast-paced narrative that readers have come to expect from DB. Fans of Baldacci should enjoy this or any reader looking for soem conspiracy fiction.

Bestselling author David Baldacci never disappoints, and comes up with new storylines that keep readers on the edges of their seats. The 6:30 Man is no exception. After a successful career in the military, Travis Devine quits and trains as a financial analyst. He takes the 6:20 train daily to his entry-level job and from the window of the train during the daily stop, he sees the mega rich – the owner and founder of the company he works for - the different lifestyle they lead. A woman Travis dated is found murdered at his place of work, and he is pressured to investigate his company. Unfortunately, there are a few more murders, and someone is setting him up as the prime suspect.

Although Baldacci is an excellent storyteller, the novel seems to get off to a slow start. However, as the suspense builds and the story begins to unfold, it gets more and more interesting; once a few chapters which give background and a foundation for the plot, are read, the book becomes unputdownable. The characters are well-developed as is typical of Baldacci, and the storyline flows easily with plenty of surprising twists and turns. Travis Devine is an excellent protagonist that readers will appreciate. Although Travis is a good, upstanding guy, he has issues from his past that make him vulnerable and feel guilt. The dénouement is definitely a surprise and readers will not see it coming. As usual, books by David Baldacci are highly recommended.

This book is somewhat like a train ride - it starts of slow and then quickly ramps up and speeds along taking you on an adventure! Travis Devine rides the 6:20 am train everyday to a job that he hates. We find out about his roommates and the people that he works with along with a girl that he watches everyday from the train. When bodies start turning up, the former Army man is called in to do some detective work putting him in danger. There are many twists, turns and overlapping stories that were all excellent and really kept me guessing. Another great read by an awesome storyteller! Special thanks to NetGalley and Grand Central Publishing for giving me an ACR of this book.

Upfront: David Baldacci's new novel, The 6:20 Main, is a terrific read. It has a perfect blend pf interesting characters, and an intriguing plot,, faced-paced plot.

Travis Devine, a former soldier turned neophyte financial analyst, leads an admittedly boring life. He is up early, does a strenuous workout, returns to his shared apartment, dresses, packs a lunch, and is out in time to catch the 6:20 am train into New York City, to join 200 other entry-level analysts doing mind-numbing sludge work at a prestigious investment company. This routine is repeated six days per week, with hopes of being one of the lucky few to reach the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Every tedious day is the same, until it's not.

Devine's ex-girlfriend and co-worker is found dead, hanging in an office storeroom presumably a suicide. A visit by the police is followed by disturbing visits by federal agents, who blackmail Travis into working with them to discover the dark secrets of his uber-wealthy employer.

I read this book courtesy of NetGalley and rand Central Publishing, the book's publisher, in exchange for a honest review.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It had a complex, well-paced plot full of surprises; well-rounded characters; a fresh (for me) setting in the world of high-stakes finance; and was enjoyable to read. Baldacci kept the stakes high for his characters, resulting in ever increasing tension, as Travis sets out to discover what is truly going on before more people are murdered.

As I said earlier, I enjoyed reading this book and recommend it to mystery/thriller fans who seek a quick read.

Travis Devine takes the 6:20am commuter train into the city every day for his job at a Wall Street financial firm. One day, he receives a cryptic email at his computer saying only She is Dead. The “she” refers to a former girlfriend and coworker. And Travis, who is much more than just a stockbroker, is plunged into a deadly conspiracy. This is a typical Baldacci fare, with lots of plot lines and shady characters and quite a few dots to connect. The dialogue seems a little underwhelming and banal, with too many cliched scenes and a convoluted storyline. But it’s still an entertaining, if average story, and the book does hold your interest, and there seems to be a series in the making. I received an ARC of this book from the publisher through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Travis works his tail off in the financial world. He is a bit of an outsider, a former Army Ranger with special skills that don't quite fit his role now as a newbie at a major financial house. Every morning on the 6:20 train he gets a glimpse of the boss's house and the boss's girl posing it seems for the train. Every night he returns to the townhouse that is shared by four, including him, diverse personalities. A young woman he was close to ends up dead, hanging in a storage closet at work. It is just the beginning as the body count mounts and he becomes a prime suspect and part of an insider look at what is going on at his workplace. Using both his financial skills and Army Ranger skills Travis must find answers quickly.
I have been a Baldacci fan for years. This book was one of my favorites. Travis Devine is a great lead character and the book is chocked full of other interesting secondary characters. The settings and plot are fun and well described and intertwined. I hope that the author will continue with the story of Travis Devine. I definitely want to read more. Thanks to #NetGalley#The 6:20 Man for the opportunity to read and review this book.

This was a great read from a master storyteller. Cannot recommend enough. Baldacci waited characters so well that you feel a part of the main characters world and this book is no exception. So many twists and turns will keep you engaged until the end. This book is a standalone but could definitely lead to a series...here's hoping!
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC!

The 6:20 Man by David Baldacci. An engrossing start that drew me in immediately. Travis Devine, the hero, commutes to work every morning at 6:20 a.m. on the train. In this intricate plot of corruption, homicide, betrayals, and bank crimes, the pace is steady. I highly, highly recommend that people go out and purchase a copy when it comes out. Thank you to NetGalley and Grand Central Publishing for this advanced copy.

Riding the train into New York City everyday do you notice if something changes? This book has so many twists and turns, you don’t know from one minute to the next who is a good person and who is a bad person. I highly recommend you read this book!

In David Baldacci's The 6:20 Man (Grand Central Publishing 2022), we meet Travis Devine, a standout West Point graduate, extraordinarily talented Army Ranger who quits the Army for some reason he says has to do with 'paying his debts'. Every day, Devine takes the 6:20 train to a Wall Street firm where he works as an analyst in a tiny cubicle, his personal punishment for mistakes he made while serving. There is no reward or satisfaction for him or hope for a future. It's just work. The train takes him past the mansion of the owner of his firm which often features a beautiful woman sitting out by the pool. He and every male on the train can't help but ogle her, and then the train continues on its way downtown. When a former girlfriend commits suicide, Travis is compelled to find out why and reawakens his considerable intellectual skills in an effort to untangle the mystery. But things get a lot more complicated when the suicide becomes murder. Travis is a suspect and to keep himself a free man, agrees to help the Feds find out what dark secrets his current employer hides. The two plots merge and Devine finds himself involved in something a lot more complicated than he'd ever intended.

When I started reading, the book was reminiscent of Girl on a Train. Travis takes the 6:20 to work every day, passes a house with a woman who always seems to be where the train sees her and Devine begins to imagine a storyline of her life, but it isn't long before it becomes clear that this plot is immensely different.

I don't always like Baldacci books, but this one is excellent with a satisfying ending. Recommended to those who love good thrillers that never slow down.

David Baldacci has written more than his share of page turners. His latest -- "The 6:20 Man," is another one. The 6:20 man, in the title, refers to the starting time for a train the book's main character, Travis Devine, takes each day to a high-paying but stressful job in finance, that he hates.

Much of the book delves into the reasons Devine, a WestPoint grad and former decorated Army Ranger takes the job. The reasons he left his former career lead him on a chase to find the murderer of a fellow employee on a separate search for wrongdoing by the head of his company and the effort to find a possible link between them.

My biggest disappointment was with the book's ending. While many complicated potboilers require a certain suspension of disbelief, I found the author's attempt to tie up loose ends to be a little strained. But all in all, I found book comfortably entertaining.

From the moment that I’ve seen that cover and read the description, I knew I must read this book.

The whole premise of an ex-military man changing his life for a financial adviser is really interesting. As I did not know how these two different fields can join the interest of the same person, I was intrigued by how the author will flesh out the main character.

I loved how he interweaved the past and present of Travis. He really grew out on me throughout the story. From being presented as a normal working character that has big dreams and just lives a life somewhere in between his past and his future, this was interesting to see how it will evolve and if he will ever reach his goals.

There's nothing so simple in life, and Travis has to find a way out from this web of greediness and political groups that will step on dead bodies to get away with their plan.

The author has done an amazing job of depicting all these suspenseful scenes.

I honestly didn't know who to believe and where this story is taking me in the end. So many unexpected twists and trials.

Addictive and suspenseful, The 6:20 Man is an unmissable read!

This is an exciting thrilling mystery with plenty of plot twists that I never anticipated! All is not that it appears to be for any of the characters. The central character, Travis DeVine, is an ex-Army Ranger, now in a humdrum job in the world of financial trading, or so he thinks. He soon finds himself in the midst of treachery, espionage, cryptic, untraceable emails, and death. Travis is a flawed hero, with a past of his own, determined to uncover the perpetrators as he delves into a constantly changing investigation that could cost him his life. This is definitely a riveting book that kept me guessing right until the end. This is a standalone book but would love to see it developed into a new series by David Baldacci. I did receive a complimentary copy from the publisher and Netgalley and I am very glad I did! (and my mother-in-law would have loved it! David Baldacci was her favorite!)

Although I consider David Baldacci one of the most readable authors who I enjoy, The 6:20 Man isn't one of his best works. Although I thought the main character Travis had great possibilities, the plot had so many storylines it was easy to get bogged down. Yes, I didn't figure out the "bad guy" until the very end; but it was a long time coming. Maybe I'm spoiled by the Memory Man series - one of the best I've read.

This book was absolutely ridiculous! It reminded me of a murder on the orient express type of story. There was just too many coincidences and crazy awful people to really dig in. However, I really liked it, it held my interest to the end and that is really all i'm looking for in an entertaining book. I always judge a book by how late it kept me up at night reading and while I didn't miss too much sleep, I did stay up later than I normally would. I received an advance copy and honestly would not have been disappointed if I had purchased it on my own. I enjoy Baldacci's writing and consistently read his work. 4 stars / lost a little sleep staying late reading and would have purchased on my own. If you want to be entertained on the beach this summer......Look no further.
