It's effortless and enticing to sink back into the fraught summers of the Sinclair family, this time through the lens of teenage Carrie in the 1980s. Family of Liars works great as a standalone, but also beautifully provides context and connection to We Were Liars. Lockhart really is a master of this genre and I could read stories about the Sinclairs forever.

I knew this
was a young adult book before I started it but I still had trouble with all of the teenage angst.

I was so excited to see Family Of Liars on NetGalley because I wasn't aware of a prequel to We Were Liars. Oh My Gosh!!!! E. Lockhart did it again I am in love with this story so AMAZING. This book follows Carrie, Penny, and Bess the parents of the teens from the first book. This story grabbed me from the first chapter and I couldn't put it down. If you're a fan of her 2014 book We Were Liars then this is definitely a must-read!!

Wow!! Another outstanding novel by e. lockhart. This follows up on 2014's We Were Liars, but you don't really need to read WWL first before diving into this one. I did borrow WWL from our library while reading Family of Liars, but only for the map and genealogy chart in the front to remind myself who was who- I'm certain the final published copy of Family of Liars will have both.

Once again, the prose, poetry, pacing, and plot were intricately woven together. I stayed up FAR past my bedtime reading this book, and am not afraid to admit I binge read the whole thing in one day. Adult readers may find gripe with the teenage angst and unrealistic plot points, but should remember this isn't an adult book- it's YA, and it's GOOD YA.
