Loved it. This is going to be a great series if the rest of the books are as interesting as this one. I love the cast of characters and the villain is really good. Lots of great action, romance and drama.

Loved, this is one of those couldn’t put it down books. This writer always keeps you wanting more whatever she writes. This is about a reporter that enters a lab under false pretenses. She’s set out to prove that experiments are being done on supernatural beings. Not by their choice. When she finds a Phoenix being tortured she sets her mind to free him. Can she?

I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own

This was really really really awesome! I have read awesome books from this author before, so I shouldn’t be surprised this book did not disappoint. I loved the characters and the chemistry with these two. I enjoyed how the story kept evolving and turns that I didn’t see coming. I am definitely hooked and will read the next book in this series once it’s released.

OMG!!!! I loved this book!!!! You have it all...a Phoenix, a reporter, wolves, vampires, and crazy scientists (Oh My).

Eve is a reporter who goes undercover to find out about the Genesis Project. Cain is a Phoenix and he rises up from the ashes after he dies. The fire doesn't leave a mark or burn on Eve. When he escapes he takes Eve with him and they are on the run from the nut who experimented on paranormals. When Cain lets lose his beast, it takes longer and longer for his human side comes back.
I'm not very good at writing these but it is an awesome book!! I read it in one day. Plenty of passion, evil men, and fast pace action.

Wow, this book was hot! Eve has quite a road to travel as she tries to stop her boss as he tortures paranormals. Her secret is revealed pretty quickly so it won't be giving away too much when I say that she was a lab assistant just to get a story since she is a reporter. What she doesn't know is that she has another secret and that takes longer to be revealed.

Along the way, Eve and Cain try to stay ahead of those trying to recapture them and we meet others that are on the run and others that are helping them.

There is so much action and passion that it was hard to put the book down and I had to keep reading!! Now, I want the next book so I know what happens with Ryder and also want Trace's story!

Fall in love with Cain all over again in this re-released edition. This is a unique take on the paranormal romance genre. Who doesn't love an amazing shifter story? And if you didn't get enough there are two more books in this series! The chemistry between Cain and Eve may melt your kindle. Sexy romance, steam, suspense, and action will keep you up way past your bedtime.

Four and a half
A welcome return by this author to her older Phoenix series that has been given a slight upgrade. Ironically I hadn't read the first book but do actually own the following two books so I was very keen to find out how it all began.
Whilst trying to uncover evidence of experimentation and corruption reporter Eve finds herself facing danger as she's forced to meet the Phoenix shifter known as prisoner 13. 13 or Cain repeatedly rises no matter what his captors do to him but each time his inner Beast takes a bit more control. He is attracted to Eve but is she telling the truth and can he trust her ? After all Eve isn't exactly a normal human any more than Cain is !
This certainly grabbed hold of my attention and this series is going to be a blast for those who enjoy paranormal romance. The author certainly pulls out all the stops to give readers an exciting, hot romance. I only wish there had been a little more about Eve and her past because it might have added an extra dimension but I cannot complain about how this thrill ride of a story ended.
This voluntary take is of a copy I requested from Netgalley and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair ppl

A great remake on this long time published book. I never read this story the first time around but I’m glad I did this time.

The first time Eve Bradley saw Subject Thirteen, he was in chains.

Eve is a reporter and goes undercover at Genesis. She knows something in this place isn’t right.

Cain O’Connor drew in a deep breath. The air smelled of her. A light, sweet scent. He could almost taste the woman—and he wanted more of her. So much more.

Enemies are everywhere trying to destroy them. His kind are more beast than human. Loaners by choice but some things can’t be denied.

A unique paranormal series. Sexy exciting and full of adventure.

Hot Enough To Burn (Phoenix Fury, #1) by Cynthia Eden
Cain is a phoenix shifter(being held captive) and reporter Eve Bradley knows about paranormals and wants to expose the mysterious Genesis facility. This is where their story starts and their "bond" is formed. There is torture, violence, evil "doctors", angst, mystery, some friends, enemies, frenemies, some laughter, tears and plenty of steam to get us to a very HEA. Since this is book #1 I am looking forward to more books in this series.
Reasons I enjoyed this book:
Tragic Unpredictable Happily Ever After Wonderful characters Tear-jerker Steamy Easy-to-read Haunting Entertaining Action-packed Page-turner Witty Scary Great word building Romantic

Oh my gosh! This book was FIRE!!!

Eve’s character was strong but had a softness to her. She was able to endure but also able to do what was required to help Cain and battle their way to their happy ever after. I loved how she was determined to help Subject Thirteen despite being afraid of him.

Cain was definitely a bit frightful before I got to know him. His abilities were startling and had me flying through the pages to learn everything. The fact that he claimed Eve as his own and was determined to protect her above all else had me swooning with delight. But oh my, when it came to the end…he leaped onto my list of favorite heroes.

This couple shows the reason I read romance. Watching them work around their issues, which included battling some seriously bad, bad guys, kept me enthralled from beginning to end. Add in all the action, drama and danger as well as enough angst to have me tearing up, and this book is perfect!

Even if you are not a fan of paranormal stories, you should read this one. Vampires, Subject Thirteen, Werewolves, Shifters all combine to make this a fun and hot romance. Reporter Eve Bradley is investigating the Genesis Facility for its mistreatment of the “paranormals”. The subjects are supposed to be volunteers, aiding government research, but Subject Thirteen aka Cain O’Connor is chained to a wall. She’s pretty sure he is not volunteering. When she becomes trapped in the facility, Cain escapes and rescues her. He believes he is a monster with no feelings, but she slowly invades every aspect of his being. Cain is hot enough to burn as he can call forth the fire, can die and return to life each time. His fire doesn’t seem to affect Eve leaving her skin unblemished…is she not the human he thought she was? When her friend is adversely affected by the research, she refuses to give up on her efforts to save him, no matter the many threats that she and Cain will face. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (by paytonpuppy)
