The Hookup Plan follows London Kelley, a pediatric surgeon, and Drew Sullivan, a former hedge fund manager, as they reconnect at their fifteen-year high school reunion. Former rivals, they now find that they have a spark, which grows even when Drew shows up at London's hospital, leading an audit. Will the two stay rivals, or fall in love?

Ultimately, this was an enjoyable read with fun banter, both between London and Drew, and between London, Samiah, and Taylor. I laughed out loud a lot, and I was rooting for London and Drew to work things out. However, the way the conflict is structured in this novel just didn't work for me. There are all these conflicts swirling, and at certain points it felt like things were about to get really juicy, and then suddenly they were solved without having much of an impact. I was glad that London and Drew weren't forced apart by a silly misunderstanding, but they have so little conflict with each other that their initial animosity just seems ridiculous. Ultimately, I think this book would have benefitted from some tighter editing -- I wouldn't have noticed these issues as much if the story had been faster-paced.

That said, I enjoyed my time with The Hookup Plan, and it's a fun, breezy read!

I enjoyed reading about London and Drew falling in love. It was a sweet and swoony conclusion to this series. But it also touched on some more serious themes related to jobs and family, which added to the depth of their love as they got to know each other. Perfect for fans of ships where the characters already know each other and have to find their back to each other.

The hookup plan was a cute contemporary romance between London, a pediatric surgeon and Drew, a millionaire. Drew gets to decide if her hospital gets to stay open or not. Also, they were enemies in high school. I love a rivals to lovers. The banter and the tropes pulled through. They’re also both really strong characters, something I see a lot of romance books lacking. It’s part of a black romance series and I’ll for sure be checking out the other books! Would recommend to anyone who likes rivals to lovers and wants to see representation in their romance!

We finally get Ali don’s story!!! London has been my favorite from the very beginning of the Craig Johnson fiasco. I’ve waited so patiently and I couldn’t be happier. London is brilliant, witty, and has it all. But once we get to know her deeper, we see she’s just like us all-learning as she goes.
I loved this final chapter and can’t wait to see where Rochon takes us next!

This was the first book I’ve had a chance to read by Farrah Rochon and she is an author I will have on my radar from now on because I really enjoyed this enemies-to-lovers romance between two former old high school nemeses.

London and Drew’s reunion after fifteen years apart brought up old feelings for both of them - London’s annoyance with Drew’s persistence, and Drew’s complete adoration and attraction. There’s something about the history of high school academic rivals that was portrayed so well – the feelings of animosity and competition but also protectiveness and trust. The trust led London to let her guard down and hook up with Drew at their high school reunion, but the protectiveness helped build their relationship from a casual hook up to friends and, eventually, lovers. You could tell that London and Drew both addressed previous demons – relationships with parents, grief and loss – and leaned on each other to get through the tough times. I only wish the ending had more conclusion - it felt like the book could have continued on from the epilogue. However, this book really captivated me from start to finish and I loved Drew & London’s transformation so much. I will be reading the first two books in this series ASAP because I have to know more about the friendship between London, Samiah and Taylor.

A very satisfying conclusion to this trilogy!! London really grated my nerves at first, but Drew kept me interested. I did eventually come around to her and really appreciated the growth and development of her character. It was fun to be back in Austin with these characters!

3.5 stars, rounded up!

I was so excited to read this book because of my own personal connection to Medical Residency Programs. My husband is currently a 2nd-year Pediatric Resident, very similar to our main character London, who is in her 5th and final year of her Pediatric Surgery Residency... so for me, this was just so fun to read! I felt like there were so many accuracies to the real experiences of a Resident.

The first 40% of the book was a tad slow for me. The storyline of London holding a 15 year-long grudge about her co-valedictorian seemed immature, especially for a surgeon, and I just wanted to tell her to "GET OVER IT".

Needless to say, I wasn't sure how it was going to pick up with 60% left, but I was so wrong. I ended up loving how London and her high school archnemesis, Drew, came to become lovers. If you love a good #EnemiesToLovers trope, this one is for you! While their romance and love are a huge part of the story, I SERIOUSLY enjoyed their own individual storylines, successes, and struggles. Both of them are very dynamic and their independent plotlines are complex, dynamic, and engaging. This is more than just a love story - there is growing friendships, family drama, loss of a parent, life stressors, and so much more.

Thank you so much to Forever at Grand Central Publishing for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review!

I love Farrah Rochon’s work! This story was well written and the banter was not as overwhelming as other authors who have attempted a similar tact. The characters are loveable, and I hope there’s more to come from this group of friends.

This ARC was provided to me via Kindle, Forever (Grand Central Publishing) and by #NetGalley. Opinions expressed are completely my own.

The third in a series, the first two are as lovely as the last.

There's a reason I get so excited to see that Farrah Rochon has a new book out. And a reason I typically hop it to the front of my reading queue. In this case, I was not disappointed. I loved London as a doctor in a state hospital wanting to do what is best for her patients going up against the millionaire she hated in high school. Their chemistry leaps off the page. Definitely worth waiting for, and highly recommended.

Having loved the Boyfriend Project and the Dating Playbook, I was so excited for the final book in this trilogy and for London's story.

Looks like I'm in the minority on this one but final book in this series just fell flat for me. I absolutely loved Drew Sullivan (who wouldn't??) but I found the book overall to be slow instead of scorching. The enemies to lovers transition happened lightning fast and a lot of the conflict was missing the tension and suspense you typically get from this trope.

It was great to see the series wrap up with all three women having found happiness in their personal and professional lives, but this one was just missing that little something extra that both the first books had.

Farrah Rochon is still 100% an auto-buy author for me --- can't wait to see what she comes up with next!

The Boyfriend Project Series has been so much fun and I'm so grateful for the amazing opportunity to read The Hookup Plan by Farrah Rochon.

The best book yet in Rochon’s Boyfriend Project trilogy.

Farrah Rochon did it again!
This was so entertaining, sweet, brilliant and flirty. I had so much fun reading it and ate up the entire story.
London Kelley and Drew Sullivan, were sexy, fun, enemies to lovers, engaging characters and I devored them. They made an amazing couple. They had great chemistry. I really wanted this couple together throughout this whole book.
A sweet and swoony romance.
Farrah Rochon is on fire! Her writing is fun and vivid. Her characters feel so alive.
This story consumed my mind and heart. Unique and amazing storytelling.

Also I love the covers of these books! 😍

Dr. London Kelley needed a break. Something to help her relax. She was not expecting that something to come in the form of her high school nemesis, Drew Sullivan. Surmising that she couldn't possibly catch feelings for a man she loathes, she concocts their "Hookup Plan". Said plan unravels splendidly as we follow her journey through letting go of hurts from her past, embracing what she desires for her own future, and stepping forward into a future focused on her own health and happiness. London is a dedicated surgical superstar, Drew is a multi-billionaire, but their personal struggles are surprisingly relatable. The Hookup Plan is a wonderful third installment for three of my favorite literary besties. It leaves us feeling as if they have all come full circle from the point in their stories that led them to be three-timed by a jackass, to confident strong women who are kicking ass and taking names.
I have enjoyed taking this journey with Samiah, Taylor, and now London. I look forward to what Farrah Rochon has next for her readers.

My review is based on the ARC that I received.
This book was everything and more. The friendships and connections are more than enough to keep this story going.

Farrah Rochon's take on the enemies to lovers trope, as well as friends, or enemies, with benefits, was great.
London Kelley is a strong, independent woman who is thriving in her career as a paediatric surgeon. At her high school reunion, which she helped organize, she runs into her old high school rival, Drew Sullivan, who is also very successful in life. Throughout high school, they were always competing to be the best, but were always tied. They start to catch up a bit, in the only way they know how, back and forth with quick little insults and banter.
London had been advised by her friends, Samiah and Taylor, to de-stress in the way of casual hookups, and it just so happens that Drew is in town for a few weeks for business. The perfect hookup; temporary, knows what he's doing, and there is no chance that she'd fall for her rival.
When London's hospital's financial situation threatens to shut down or be sold as a private hospital, she'll have to put her differences aside with Drew and work together to keep the hospital as is.
The character development of both London and Drew individually and together is so well written. They are able to look to each other for support throughout the story, and there is no predictable third-act breakup that occurs in the majority of romance novels. I really appreciated that.
London plays pretty hard to get, determined to keep their relationship only physical, but she just couldn't resist Drew's charm, and ultimately they fall in love as they grow closer and get to know each other, and they make such a sweet couple.
The only things I didn't really enjoy about the book was the banter and how much there was. I felt that London couldn't even have a mature adult conversation with Drew without insulting him in some sort of way. She does eventually get better at this and slowly reduces the insults to a tolerant amount.
This is the third and final book in the series by Farrah Rochon. I have not read the first two books yet, but I definitely will be after reading this one.

This book is the final installment in a trilogy I have been hooked on from the start. I love every character and can’t put into words how much joy this series brings me. Farrah Rachon is an automatic buy for any book!

Farrah Rochon hit it out of the park with this series telling the stories of three incredible Black female characters and the heroes who are worthy of them. This one may be my favorite of the three books, but it’s a tough choice. You don’t need to read the first two books to enjoy this one, but I recommend reading them because they are just great books.

London is a brilliant, rising pediatric surgeon and the book opens at her high school reunion (very entertaining start!), where she’s reunited with her archnemesis Drew, and shortly after they make a deal to satisfy her “needs!”

The strong female friendships, the level of success London has achieved, her struggles with her own health and finding a work/life balance, and the real struggle of being a strong black woman in a competitive environment is beautifully portrayed.

Rochon critiques patriarchy through a couple of characters, uses the hospital setting to make a social commentary on health care and how women/mothers often neglect their own health, and best of all, writes powerful, positive and successful Black representation. It’s all so wonderfully written with just the right balance of humor and authenticity.

Communication between the MC’s is great. Steam level is low but satisfaction is high! There is also an Iyanla reference that made me laugh out loud. I absolutely love love loved this book and highly recommend it and the series!

Thank you to NetGalley and Forever for the ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

London and Drew were enemies in high school, always wanting to up each other. What happens during a chance meeting at their high school reunion and how does London take it when Drew starts showing a different side of himself?

I love a good enemies trope and this did it for me. The banter between London and Drew was fun and sexy. London is a complicated woman. And we love a complicated main character. She stands up for her family (excluding certain people) and wants to help as many people as possible. I loved how she wasn’t always drawn in by the money of her surgeon job or Drew’s millions. Even Drew says it’s, London is a surprising woman.

Rochon is a must-read writer for me after this series. This book was the perfect ending to the series. It wrapped everything up. I loved the friendship between the girls. And it reminded me of my best girlfriends. Female friendship is celebrated in this book and they are always the ones you can count on.

This book was a lovely read. Fun and flirty while also touching on the importance of equitable healthcare (which I loved as a public health student haha) this was a great read and I have already recommended it to friends to pick up when it comes out. I'm looking forward to reading more from this author already!

I enjoyed the first two books of the boyfriend project series but the hookup plan is by far my favorite. I got hooked to the story in the first few pages and I couldn’t put the book down. This is a delightful, fast pace read that follow the journeys of successful mid 30s people that are still figuring life out.
