Perfect historical romance. Great chemistry between the leads, hot sexy time and a great story to wrap the whole thing up in a perfect little bow. Will definitely recommend.

This is book #5 in the Lords of Armory and like the last four book in this series it doesn’t disappoint. It is the story of Baroness Sydney Roland and Captain Nathaniel Reed. It is filled with suspense, danger, romance and finally answers the ultimate question, “Who is behind the organization Scepter and how can it be destroyed?” I loved all the other Books in this series, but this book was my favorite. I highly recommend reading the complete series, but this book could be read as a stand alone.

I voluntarily read and received an advance copy of this book provided by NetGalley. This review is my honest opinion.

This is currently my favorite series. It's packed full of action, who's the bad guys, strong independent women and steamy romance. The overarching mystery is who is in Scepter and bringing them to justice. Scepter is a secret organization working to over throw the monarchy. The investigation team are former war heroes secretly working for the Home Office. This book is a continuation of the previous one that centers around two half brothers, Nathanial Reed, Earl of St. James, and Alexander Sinclair. This is Nate's story investigating the widow Baroness Sidney Rowland. She's been used by Scepter but it's unknown if she was a willing participant. Scepter is very adept at blackmailing people for their purpose.

Nathaniel is the illegitimate son of the former Earl St. James. His mother was a maid in his household. They grew up poor and scratched out a living. When an unexpected gift of money came to them they purchased him a commission in the Horse Guards and he ended up a war hero. Now he's helping Clayton Elliott, under sectary in the Home Office ferret out Scepter. His lead is Sydney. She was the one who bought up all of mathematician Henry Everett to force him to help Scepter. She's being blackmailed into cooperating to protect her secret son to keep him safe. The intrigue in this story is deep and the romance that builds between her and Nate is delicious.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Anna Harrington brings all the riveting intrigue, suspense and love readers have come to expect in book 5 of her Lords of the Armory series, A Remarkable Rogue, for a great read!

Quiet and solitary Captain Nathaniel Reed kept to himself cloaked in mystery and bound by his tragic past. Filled with pain he got through life but did not live it. Lady Sydney Rowland found solace in her escape from a painful past even while she isolated herself and kept her emotions well contained in an effort not to be hurt.

Both Nate and Sydney longed for love even as they cut themselves off from receiving it. This writer did a great job of conveying how well suited this couple were for each other in spite of their reluctance to take a chance with each other. Between their shared stubbornness and deadly secrets Nate and Sydney were their own worse enemies in an arena full of formidable ones. This pair's fears were ones that most readers would be able to relate to, both the real ones and the imagined ones, making this couple extremely interesting and accessible. Nate and Sydney's steamy attraction was unmistakable and often poignant adding another element to this pair being a good fit.

The overarching plot of Scepter's dark machinations to overthrow the English monarchy was done expertly and with no shortage of action and suspense. Ms. Harrington's storytelling shines in her Lords of the Armory series. Filled with memorable heroes and villains every installment in this series is well written and intriguing.

There are authors you follow and there are authors you love, Anna Harrington is an author to love. With a keen sense of history and an intuitive understanding of the human heart Ms. Harrington presents a combination impossible to resist to her readers. It cannot be emphasized enough that this writer is able to effortlessly bring history to her modern readers without compromising the integrity of the period she is depicting with current sensibilities. She portrays strong women even while showing the confines and trials of the time they lived in for realistic stories while still managing to display all the charm and tingles readers would expect from a romance. A Remarkable Rogue is just what every romance lover craves told in Anna Harrington's signature fabulous storytelling!

Sydney is being blackmailed by Scepter, a group of revolutionaries determined to overthrow the British government. They know she has a secret illegitimate son and will kill him if she doesn't cooperate. In book four, she is ordered to buy the debts of mathematician Henry Everett and then call them in, making him desperate enough to help Scepter in their plot. Now, soldier Nate is assigned to determine her connection to Scepter's assassination attempt on the prime minister and prince regent. Is she a traitor? This is a second chance at love story. Sydney, at seventeen, was in love with Michael who died before they were married. Her parents took the baby from her and forced her to marry a Baron. She is now happily widowed, determined to never marry again and give up her independence, having found her son, keeping him hidden in the country. Nate is a widower who will never forgive himself for not being with his wife and baby when they died in childbirth. Reckless and not wanting to live, he took risks in war that made him a hero. Regrets, family drama, blackmail, murder, and treason make for an emotional and exciting book.

A Remarkable Rogue is a fantastic story about a widowed Baroness, Sydney and a Captain of the army, Nate. While Sydney is a member of the aristocracy, Nate is the illegitimate son of an earl and a maid who meet while Nate is clandestinely investigating Sydney. The story is well written and provides the reader a front seat view of the relationship as if develops between Nate and Sydney as they are continuously thrown together during his investigation. It contains intrigue, murder and just the right amount of spice to keep the reader hooked until the plot is revealed.,It is part of a series and contains characters from other books in the series but can be read as a standalone. I received the book as an ARC from Netgalley and I am voluntarily leaving a review

Thanks #NetGalley for the advanced copy of #ARemarkableRogue by Anna Harrington in exchange for an honest review of the book.

This book has a lot working for it. I enjoyed the hero and the heroine both as individuals and as a couple. The plot was exciting (it did kind of drag at the end of the book and I wish it had wrapped up a little quicker but it wasn't awful by any means) and interesting. Harrington's writing style was easy to read and still meaningful and enjoyable. I look forward to reading other books in this series and by this author.

Sydney has no idea who's blackmailing her. She only knows she has to do what they say—it's the only way to protect her loved ones. Nathaniel is investigating her for treason, but he suspects she's just a pawn. Can he keep her safe without falling in love?

This adventure romance is full of lust and danger. Thanks, NetGalley, for the ARC I received. This is my honest and voluntary review.

This book by Anna Harrington was such a fun Regency intrigue with Lady Sydney Rowland trying to keep secrets and Captain Nathaniel Reed the one who’s tasked with finding them out.

Harrington’s writing is beautiful and reminded me in the best way possible of Celeste Bradley’s The Liar’s Club series.

Sydney and Nate had both been burned by life and as a result they were cautious around each other, but when they committed to being truthful it was so beautiful to read.

I cannot recommend this book enough if you love Regency era books, intrigue and female characters saving the day!

4.5/5 ⭐️

Thank you to @netgalley for giving me a copy in exchange for an honest review.

This was an entertaining, well-written book. It was steamy, action-packed and fast-paced. It held my interest and I wanted to find out what would happen. This book can be read as a standalone story, though it is #5 in the Lords of the Armory series. I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more books by this author.

What a wonderful story about a widowed Baroness, Sydney Rowland and a widower Army Captain, Nate Reed. Nate has been sent to spy on Sydney and find out her involvement with Scepter. They both have secrets but keeping those secrets from each other could cause one or both of them fatal consequences.

The chemistry between the two of them was instant and just sizzled on the page. Yet their relationship was more than just wanting each other. Once they put their trust into each other, it became apparent how much they needed each other forever. The author did a great job with character development, the mystery surrounding Scepter and the relationship between Sydney and Nate. Looking forward to the author’s next book.

England 1817

Lady Rowland. "..Sydney Rowland was certainly striking. Undeniably regal. Graceful. Beautiful... And most likely a traitor." Nate was on her trail and determined to find out.

Wow... adventure, suspense, secrets, a criminal organization trying to take down the government and two people with pasts that make them both cautious.

Nate is the ultimate hero and determined to find out if Sydney is involved with Scepter and the recent attempt on the life of the Prime Minister and Prince Regent.

Sydney has secrets and Nate is determined to find out. Anna always totally pulls me into her stories and this has to be one of my favorites!!

Pawns and captains.

I thought this was the best of the series (and the last). Sydney has been used as a pawn by Scepter. She was married to a bad guy but has a secret son (why she had to marry). Nate is a captain and a spy and his latest mission is Sydney. I liked Nate quite a lot. He was determined to be faithful to his deceased wife. He's a widower and Sydney is a widow. Their first marriages were vastly different. Sydney lacks trust in men (I don't blame her), she's been used by men, and has been a pawn. As such, she doesn't want to give control over to a man again (so with you there,).
Recommend.

I've really enjoyed all the books in the Lords of the Armory series - unfortunately this is the last one! And it was really worth the wait. We FINALLY find out who is behind Scepter! But many twists and turns happened before getting there. Baroness Rowland, Sydney, is the object of Captain Nathaniel Reed's latest mission in his pursuit of Scepter. He believes that Lady Rowland has become involved with Scepter, and when he he meets and talks with Sydney, he realizes he was correct about her involvement, but to what level? Is she one of the masterminds behind it, and if so, why? For Sydney's part, she is both fascinated by and terrified of Nathaniel, as someone has learned of what could be a ruinous secret about her and is threatening to expose her (and worse) if she does not cooperate. Whose side is Nathaniel on, anyway? She eventually begins to see what a brave, noble - and handsome! - man he is, and wouldn't mind a dalliance but refuses to allow another man to have complete power over her the way her dead husband did. Nathaniel vowed long ago that he would remain faithful to his deceased wife, but he is drawn to Sydney like no other woman, and he struggles with his resolve. Nate starts to realize that Sydney is no political revolutionary, but he is determined to learn more about how she is being blackmailed by Scepter. Sydney does not trust easily, though. Will she feel she can trust him enough to share her secret? Will he change his mind about celibacy - and realize how important Sydney is becoming in his life? Read to find out! While this can be read as a stand-alone, it will probably be more enjoyable to read the books in order. I highly recommend this book!

This book offered the perfect blend of steam and emotion and action and suspense to get me out of my own head and have me deeply immersed and invested in this one. I really liked Sydney and Nate. Their chemistry was solid, and I thought they worked really well as a couple. The author skillfully blends excitement and adventure with romance and heart to create a thrilling and swoony read that is fun and induces plenty of feels.

This is the fifth book in the “Lords of the Armory” series by Anna Harrington. This is one of these series that have to be read in order as there is a murder mystery and treason plot that links each book to the next. I have read all of the books and I’m enjoying that plot of the secret organization that wants the United Kingdom have their own (French) Revolution and silly me I thought that this was going to be the final book, the time when everything would be revealed. But oh boy was I so wrong, there’s more to come!

Now the main plot of this book in particular, as they all have their own stories that begin and end, is the love story between an army Captain who is a renowned hero and the woman who is used as pawn by the secret organization. She had a son with a former fiancé who died and she was made to marry a very cruel man by her parents, interchanging the man’s title and position for her baby. Sydney is now a widow and she could find her son who is now six and whom he keeps hidden in the country. But little Robert would be in danger if she didn’t comply to the orders she’s given.

Nate is the half brother of the hero in the previous novel. As an illegitimate son he has no love lost for his half relatives yet the Armory, the spy organization that are working to the treason plot, force them to work together and soon they learn that the women in the family want to make amends and acknowledge Nate’s existence. But before that happens Nate needs to let go of his anger and his reluctance to let them love him.

Both Nate and Sydney learn to let go of the past and the heavy burdens they’ve been carrying. Nate needs to forgive himself for the things he couldn’t control and Sydney needs to learn that not all men want to control her. Together they find common ground and love each other as equals, they go on with their lives and understand that even if they still love people from their pasts that are gone, they have a second chance at having a happy life and a real family together, that they are capable of taking care of each other, protect and fight for each other and little Robert and find their happy ending.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, it was incredibly beautiful as a love story. Nate and Sydney both stole my heart and they are my favorite couple of the series so far. Also the mystery plot is so engaging that I can’t wait to read the next book, who will be the hero? Will the heroine be Elizabeth, Nate’s half sister? I do hope so because she’s so sweet!

So...Nate's character definitely singlehandedly made me like this book!
I don't know if it was the hot romance or just his good stand up guy personality.

I always like characters that have to get through their past, but somehow Nate and Sydney brought out the emotional side through their romance(and to me as a reader).

Typically I really like more plot driven romances, but in this case the romance really was the shining star. The Specter plot was there about blackmail and worry of danger, but that part was just OK and really just fueled the romance.

I ended up liking this book more than the previous one in the series purely based on the fantastic connections between the characters. Captain Nate for the win!

Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for providing a copy of this ARC for my honest review.

A Remarkable Rogue was the second ever book I've read by Anna Harrington. If the first hadn't turned me into a fan, this one would! The enthralling plots of Sceptor come second only to the captivating romance between Captain Reed and Sydney. Yet again, we get the chance to read about a worldly heroine with life experiences. The twists and turns in Sydney's back story make my heart ache.

Is this truly the end of Sceptor? I hope not! Surely I am not alone in my wish for Clayton Elliot to get his own story--he deserves it, doesn't he? Whatever Anna Harrington publishes next, I know I'll be reading it.

I received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Thanks to Net Galley, SOURCEBOOKS Casablanca, and Anna Harrington for the ARC!
