What a wonderful story! I loved Nate and Sydney. They both had broken hearts and learned how to move on after loss. Watching Nate fight with himself over his feelings had me wanting to just hold him LOL

We find out who is behind Scepter in here. Or did we? We definitely learned why Scepter is trying to start a revolution. The person they arrested - I don't want to give anything away - denied being Scepter, but admitted to being with Scepter. So that is why I wonder if we really have the mastermind behind it. Add to the fact that Clayton Elliott does not have a book and he NEEDS a story, I just wonder if this is the last we will see of the Lords of the Armory.

A Remarkable Rogue was addictive, exciting, and I couldn't turn the pages fast enough to sate my need to know what would happen next. And yet, I was desperate to savor this book, to enjoy every meeting of Nate and Sydney, from their first, banter-filled tête-à-tête to their first kiss to the suspenseful, heart-pounding ending. Thankfully, by setting work, kids, and all other responsibilities to the side to read—a smart decision on my part—I was able to do exactly that.

I devoured and relished every moving part of this story, entranced not only by the chemistry and growing relationship between Nate and Sydney but also by Nate's developing relationship with his extended if unwanted family and the advances made in revealing and bringing down Scepter. Which, if you've read the rest of the series, will be welcome news. If, however, you're new to this series, you can jump in and follow along, although I strongly suggest taking it all the way back to An Inconvenient Duke and the start of this intriguing saga simply for the enjoyment of it.

If you're looking for intelligent writing, a fast-paced plot, strong characters who complement and bring out the best in one another, and who you can root for, then I truly cannot recommend A Remarkable Rogue—or the Lords of the Armory series—enough. It's must-read historical romantic suspense from an author who has me on tenterhooks waiting for the next book . . .

I have read all of the books of this series and this one is my favorite. Bastard son of an earl and a Baroness find happily ever after. I was a bit put off by Sydney’s reluctance to claim her son, but happily Nate convinced her. And by the way, Nate was not a rogue at all so the title is a bit misleading. 5 stars.

Anna Harrington is such a delicious historical fiction writer and I've fallen in love with all the heroes in this series! A Remarkable Rogue is the fifth book in the Lords of the Armory series. Works well as a stand alone. All the novels in the series include danger and mystery with a secret organization. A Remarkable Rogue doesn't miss the mark in the action adventure department. The romance is steamy too. Our title characters have quite a bit of backstory with trust issues and it overwhelmed the story in parts. I loved the chemistry between Nate and Sydney. It is a quick, fun read that you will devour in a couple sittings!

Thank you to #Netgalley for the early read. All opinions are my own.

Will they find in the other reasons to break their own oaths …

After reading this book, I do wonder about the title, Nate, the hero, is no rogue, even more he is the direct opposite of a rogue. A man so damaged by his wife’s death he never touched another woman since to only throwing himself into dangerous impossible missions. A true Hero.
Now about the background plot, each book has seen the resolution of one piece of the whole scheme so this book can be seen as a standalone. After, if you want more of the main characters’ backstory, they were introduced in the previous book.

Sydney is once again caught in the web of another’s making. Which reinforces her will to never again find herself under the thumb of someone else. So to sum up, if she survives her present ordeal, to never marry again.
She is a woman who has lost so much, even more, she was robbed of the most precious thing, her child. So it is understandable she is cautious and refuses to share this with a near stranger, whomever he proves to be.

This tale is fast paced, it mirrors Sydney and Nate’s instant chemistry, what was at the beginning mere lust turns to admiration for one another as the events progress. After, they have both a biased vision of life, Nate’s illegitimacy pushes him to urge Sydney toward a path she is not ready to follow while she wants him physically, to comfort her but rejects the idea of more between them

This was a very compelling read. I really enjoyed the dynamic between Nate and Sydney. And their chemistry was off the charts! I was also very intrigued by the Sceptor mystery. It kept me intrigued up until the big reveal at the end!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing an ARC for an honest review.

Scepter has reared its ugly head again. We found out that Sydney was being targeted and Nate sent to arrest her in the last book. The adventure begins. Is she or isn’t she an agent of Scepter? Besides all of the suspense, which I love, this story has side storylines which I found very interesting and refreshing. I love how both Sydney and Nate had previous loves and cherished those loves. No hating of their previous loves. Like I said, refreshing. The love story is so sweet that you will root for their HEA. Seeing all of the guys from The Armory is always a pleasure. Is this the end of Scepter or is there another story? Not telling.

The Lords of the Armory series have been consistently enjoyable reads, and A Remarkable Rogue is no different. Like its predecessors, this book does a great job ratcheting up the tension in the group's pursuit of Scepter while telling an equally solid love story.

I was drawn in by Sydney and Nate and the way that they were both able to navigate past the traumas of their pasts, both separately and together. If anything, I would have been happy to spend more time getting to know both characters - at times, their backstories felt rushed, an odd choice since the secrets of the past were the main things keeping them apart. Still, the intentional way they both chose each other - and a future together - was lovely, and the inclusion of Sydney's son in all of that gave the ending even more emotional weight.

The backbone of this series is the hunt for Scepter, and Remarkable Rogue picked up the torch seamlessly from the previous installment. As with the love story, though, parts of the hunt for Scepter felt a bit rushed or sudden, lacking in the intrigue of some of the earlier books. It's clear that things are about to come to a head, and I would have loved to marinate a bit more in the tension.

Overall, while this book did feel a bit hurried at times, I truly enjoyed it and can't wait to see where things go next!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A Remarkable Rogue exceeded all my expectations, becoming my favorite book in the Lords Of The Armory series. There is action and intrigue, but the story's heart is character driven. Nate and Sydney have both been in love and suffered a tragedy. This is a second chance romance for both of them. Nate and Sydney have pain and guilt in their past that they struggle with. Nate and Sydney’s journey is one of healing and trust.

This is the fifth book in the Lords Of The Armory series. The series has a continuing theme of an anti-government organization called Scepter. Scepter is trying to overthrow the monarchy. Nate and Sydney are thrown together due to Scepter’s plotting. I love how this story had espionage and peril, yet Nate’s honor and strength and Sydney’s determination and resilience were showcased. The characters were allowed to breathe. The attraction and passion between the couple were sensual and riveting.

I think this might be the last of the Lords Of The Armory series, as everything is wrapped up nicely. I enjoyed each of these novels. However, Nate and Sydney resonated with me on a personal level. Anna Harrington has the uncanny ability to create a mysterious, sensual, romantic adventure that keeps the reader eagerly turning the page. This is the crown jewel in the series. I recommend reading all five books – each is excellent. Nate and Sydney’s happily-ever-after was hard won but so worth the journey! I look forward to wherever Anna Harrington takes us next!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book through Netgalley and the publisher. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

The relationships to the characters of the other books are not established enough; at this point I can't remember how they're even connected to the initial trio. It's like they produce a new character at the end of every book for the sole purpose of having another book. It should have ended after three, or used more side characters along the way so the new main characters could have some history.

The first 15% at least of the plotline relies entirely on the previous book in the series. Since I somehow missed that one, I'm at a loss for who these people are and that takes away from my enjoyment.

Once it got some traction it started to get a little better, though still relying too much on the overarching scheme from the previous books.

Overall, the female main character was a little pushy with her attentions. Coming from a man everyone would be crying serial harassment. I appreciate a confident sexuality in a woman but she veers too far over the line. The author falls into the current popular trap of overdoing the female empowerment issue, which creates and unbalanced dynamic in the relationship. She also chooses inopportune moments to push her attentions, even in the middle of a moment of what she claims is the most important thing in her life.

This is the 5tb book in the Lord's of the Armory series. It can be read as a stand alone but since both of these main characters were introduced in book 4, it might help to read that first.
This series from the start is trying to track down the leaders of the group Septre. This group is looking to overthrow the government and the monarchy. Each book has its own mystery and leads to a different culprit.
This is the story of Nate and Sydney. Each has had a great love and lost it. Each has secrets. These secrets are blackmailing Sydney into doing things that are wrong. Nate is try to find out why Sydney is involved and what would cause her to commit possible treason.
They work together and become very close, leading to a beautiful budding romance. A second chance for both of them to begin life again.
I enjoyed reading this book. Anna Harrington knows how to tell a good story. There's mystery, action and romance.

The fifth book in the Lords of the Armory series by Anna Harrington is “A Remarkable Rogue”. The search for the Scepter continues with Lady Sydney being black mailed into playing her part. Captain Nathaniel Reed and Lady Sydney Rowland have both experienced love and loss while sacrificing parts of themselves in the process. While one has been able to move forward, the other still struggles with guilt over the loss. Even though some of the story transitions felt a bit abrupt to me this is an overall solid and entertaining read. If you enjoy swoon worthy romance, danger, drama, mystery and intrigue, look no further as it’s all right here!

I was provided an ARC from Sourcebooks Casablanca and the author via Net Galley, and this is my honest review.

Anna Harrington is one of my favorite authors and this book is another superb offering from her. It neatly wraps up the series by adding another superb, steamy romance as well as providing the identity (and punishment) of the villain that has run through the entire series. I quickly came to love the characters, but that was easy because we’d already met them.

Scepter is an organization determined to murder England’s leadership and bring down the monarchy. They’ve made several attempts on the Prime Minister’s life and the Regents. The Lords of the Armory have managed to thwart the group so far, but they know Scepter will just keep trying until they succeed – unless they are stopped. Their best clue so far is Sydney Rowland. Is she a member of Scepter – perhaps even the leader – or is she being blackmailed into helping as so many others have been? It is up to Captain Nathaniel Reed to figure that out and, either way, extract all of the information she has.

Baroness Sydney Rowland avoids love in whatever form it might appear. Everyone she’s ever loved has been taken away from her, betrayed her, or despised her – so it is just simpler not to love anyone at all. Now, as a widow, her life is finally safe. She has money, no emotional encumberments, and one huge secret she must protect at all costs.

Captain Nathaniel Reed is the illegitimate half-brother to Alexander Sinclair, Earl of St. James. Nathaniel has no use for the legitimate side of his family, but he has to work closely with Alexander on this mission, so he’d better suck it up and get on with it. His part of the mission is to determine if Sydney Rowland is a friend or foe and to extract all of the information she has – whether she knows it or not. She’s definitely hiding something. Is she the leader of Scepter? If so, how can he be so drawn to her?

Excitement and romance abound in this delightful story. I love that the leader of Scepter is identified and gets adequately punished. But, we are left wondering if that is the last we’re going to hear from Scepter – after all – it seems more like a Hydra with multiple heads and multiple directions. Can’t wait to see if we hear from them again.

One of my favorite things about this series is that each romance is steamy and unique and it is accompanied by an equally unique mystery to go along with it. I like that so much better than just a plain ‘no frills’ romance.

I can definitely recommend this book – and this series – and I hope you will enjoy it as much as I did.

This story about Baroness Sydney Rowland and Nate Reed was enjoyable. Nate was a soldier and is now working with the Home Office to determine who is behind the plot to take down the government. This is the Scepter Organization and they know the Baroness has secrets she is determined to keep. Scepter blackmails her to help with their scheme. Nate is tasked with trying to find out who is behind the organization and if the Baroness is involved. Originally, he believes she is guilty of assisting them. When he learns more about the situation, he will then do anything to protect her. This was an enjoyable read with lots of intrigue and somewhat mysterious with all that went on. Throughout, they each try to deny the attraction between them. Both Nate and Sydney have some personal issues to overcome before we get to the HEA. Couldn’t wait to finish to see how it turned out. I would like to thank NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for the opportunity to review this ARC. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

My main issue with A Remarkable Rogue is that our hero isn’t a rogue by any stretch of the imagination. Captain Nate Reed is loyal, upstanding, compassionate, and undeniably sexy – but a rogue he is not. That isn’t a criticism of him or the book. I loved both. But the title might a bit of false advertising. And if that’s my big issue, it’s obviously a great book.

Anna Harrington once again hits it out of the park with the fifth installment of her Lords of the Armory series. I’m not always a fan of historical romance with a big suspenseful plot because I think the authors tend to lean too much in one direction – mystery or romance. But she consistently finds a great balance between the two, enough so that even five books in, I’m still invested in finding out who is behind the revolutionary, treasonous organization Sceptor.

It should come as no surprise by this point that I love an historical romance heroine who can hold her own – and Lady Sydney Rowland is as clever, tough, and determined as I’ve come to expect from the women in this series. She’s the perfect match for Nate because neither one of them lets the other have an inch. They’re constantly flipping who has the upper hand, all while trying to pretend they’re not attracted to each other. It’s the best kind of dynamic. They have great romantic chemistry, but they also work together really well to unravel the mystery, and he learns early on he can’t expect her to sit at home and stay safe like a proper lady.

We get pretty close to the top of Sceptor in this novel, but I wouldn’t be surprised if there was still more to uncover and another installment. Clayton Elliott, who has featured in every novel so far helping the Lords of the Armory, hasn’t had his starring turn yet, and I’d be more than happy to read that book!

✨I have a math question for you: If you have one (1) half-naked man, one (1) pail of water he pours over his head, and two (2) hands he combs through his dripping hair, how many wet things are in the room???✨

I can’t get the image of Nate pouring a bucket of water over his hard, hard body while making direct eye contact with Sydney out of my head. I really can’t. That was the tipping point for me when I absolutely lost my mind for this book.

I’ve read three books in about a three day period that followed this same plot and by far A Remarkable Rogue was my favorite of the bunch! It had steam, chemistry, and a devastatingly ravishing hero, while the mystery and action kept had an energy about them. I read it super fast and I didn’t see the villain reveal coming!

I want to go back and read the first few in the series to see if I can’t find another favorite. The writing was sharp and I really just can’t get over Nate!!! Ugh he was just so good. A good person and even better in bed! Both main characters had a lot of personal issues they were dealing with, so I can see where this would be a heavy book for some! However, I thought the relationship just worked so well and contrasted the darker elements nicely. The angry yearning really did its work here.

Just like another books from this series, A Remarkable Rouge also full of mystery, action, and of course the sweet romance. I prefer this book to the previous one, A Relentless Rake. I think it is darker and the romantic scenes are more make sense. In A Relentless Rake, I found the romance scenes are rather odd. Alec and Olivia kept being intimate in the unappropriate places and times. And for me, that ruined the nuance. But in this book...I love it! The connection between Nate and Sydney feels natural. I can feel their chemistry. I love this couple. They are my favorite.

The subplot of this series is about Scepter, a secret organization that has intent of overthrowing the monarch. Like I said, this book feels darker, and also has more action than the previous one. Because, I think this book is going to be the last book. The mystery of Scepter is fully revealed here and not like the previous books where they have a cliffhanger ending, this time, it has an "ending".

Baroness Sydney Rowland—widow—possible traitor to the Crown. Captain Nate Reed—widower—works for the Crown—suspects Lady Rowland is a traitor. This is my first book by Anna Harrington and I am pleased to say that it was enjoyable. There are very descriptive details of war and murder but it adds to the authenticity of the story. There are of course secrets held by both H and h, and yes they each annoyed me by keeping them but again it added to the flow of the story. I did not like Sydney until well into the book LOL. I was surprised because it is alway rare to find celibacy in a man (at least in the books I read), women yes but men are usually man-whores. There are funny parts as well as some scary ones. The love scenes were descriptive but I didn’t think they were overly explicit. Overall, I would recommend this book to a fellow reader.

I recieved a free copy from netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
I liked the last book in rhe but this was even better.
Nate is investigating the attempted murder of the Prime Minister and the prince regent. His investigation leads to Sydney, a widowed baroness with a secret.
I liked the mystery behind Sceptor but loved the relationship between Nate and Sydney more.
Both have loved and lost and cannot imagine moving on with someone else.
Great mystery and romance.
