A twisty plot and a page turner, I enjoyed this book a lot! I hadn't read anything by this author before and now I definitely want to go back and read his other books. A great read!

Wow this book turned out to be so much more than I thought. This is a deep psychological thriller that immediately sucks you in to the characters and what they are going through. In fact, that was one of my favorite aspects of this story. Learning about the characters and their motiviations. Robin is such a fantastic writer, her descriptions of the characters and what they were going though made them feel like friends. You felt for them, you hurt when they hurt (or atleast I did) and you want to slap when they take those inevitable stupid choices in life. This is one of those stories where you know something is off with one of the couples but you aren't sure which one. It will keep you turning the pages and wanting more. I cant wait to read more by this author!

The setting of this book gives all the spooky vibes and is probably my favorite part of this read!

Our main characters are Jamie and Victoria who are expecting their first child and have decided to go on a last vacation before babys arrival to a remote bed and breakfast. Keep in mind - this place is super remote! There is nothing for miles and even the closest town is teeny, and there is no one else staying at this air bnb aside from the owners, Fiona and Barry. When they wake up the first morning, they're left their alone. The owners are gone, and all the windows and doors are locked from the outside. On top of this, their cell phones and car keys are missing (YIKES!). Victoria goes into labour - and they cannot get out of the house.

The story flips back and forth between her labour in the bed and breakfast and them at home a few months later, unfortunately without their son.

I read this book in a single afternoon - SO deliciously binge worthy. The more I've sat with this one - the more I liked it! The part of the book, the characters choices are definitely infuriating because I couldn't understand why they were making the decisions that they were, but I promise the ending and twists sum it up perfectly!

This was a good psychological thriller! I loved the twists throughout. It was a good locked room mystery. I didn’t expect some of the twists. Overall, definitely an enjoyable thriller to read!

As a mother of young children, the panic and feeling of being a soon to be mom hits home! This was a page turner, a twist I didn't expect and a different plot then I expected thing to turn into!

A unique thriller that will keep readers poring over the pages long into the night.

I would give this 3 stars, just because some things didn’t totally make sense, but that doesn’t mean I didn’t enjoy the read.

Although this story occasionally lapses into implausibility, it's all part of the fun, and I'm giving it four stars for keeping me reading late into the night. Starting out normally enough, a married couple travel to a B&B for a quick respite a few weeks before the birth of their baby. What happens when they get there quickly progresses into a seemingly preposterous situation. As with any well-written psychological thriller, you can bet that twists or turns are going to be good ones -- and they are. Recommended!

So. This book was going along okay, though every single character is immensely unlikeable. Thought we had a decent plot line going- and then the BIG twist happened. And things started not making alot of sense lol. Such a strange book.

“We’re still coming to terms with everything and not really in a state to talk so much about it, but obviously wanted you to be the first to know”There is something so human about this quote. Not to go all psycho analytical on it but there is something so raw about the emotions in this story and the way that most of the time we need people for the support before we need them to actually solve our problems we have yet to come to terms with. I tend to be very careful with the thrillers that I read as they are not my favorite, but this was just GOOD. It was complex, it was hard to read at times, and it was just so thought provoking that sometimes it validated your emotions in a situation you aren't even actually apart of. Totally a unique read.

This book is so hard to talk about without the potential for spoiling anything, so I’m going to try to keep things as vague as possible.

THE GUEST HOUSE is an exciting psychological thriller focused on the lengths that people will go to save those that they love and the effects of trauma. That’s what you need to know. What comes next is a whirlwind of deception, tension, and anxiety. Morgan-Bentley chooses to unfold this story through dual narration from Jamie and Victoria that shifts between present day and what happened at the guest house. I loved getting both sides of the story and feeling the emotional reactions from both characters. Finally everything culminates into a layered and twisty ending that left me thrilled to have picked this book up. While I guessed a few things, I certainly didn’t see everything coming and even the bits I predicted didn’t stop me from enjoying the way they were revealed.

A huge thank you to Poisoned Pen Press for my gifted copy!

The Guest House was a very unique story and because of it had me turning the pages for more and it was all credit to the authors ability to keep you intriqued, however, with that said the plot had several points that were too unrealistic or things didn't quite add up. Overall worth the read but be aware you'll be yelling that the moves the characters make at several points in the story :)

I loved this thriller! It was gripping, well-written and I didn’t expect anything of what happened. I read a lot of thrillers so it’s not easy to surprise me anymore, but “The guest house” definitely did. I will read sonething by Robin Morgan-Bentley again for sure
