Just when I needed a sunshine filled escape along comes Mandy to whisk me away to sunny skies at Corfu.
Enchanting and a foodies delight, A Taste of Greek Summer was full of comedy, adventure and of course romance.
A really interesting mix of characters, some wonderful and some really frustrating; Lydia is a little bit lost, after losing her mentor and realising she had a relationship built of lies; she has become disillusioned with her passion. Thanos is skilled and could go far as a chef but has responsibilities. He doesn’t know what to do or believe he is able to achieve his dreams. A meeting of minds in many ways their chemistry is instant and leaps from the page.

A gorgeous summer read that will entertain and bring the sunshine into grey miserable skies!

This book took me back to the sights and smells of the gorgeous Corfu. I was salivating throughout with all the descriptions of the tastes of Greece. A fabulous feel good book of holiday romance and friendship. A must read

This was a perfect escapism light hearted read and would be an ideal summer holiday beach read. I loved the descriptions of Corfu and of them sights and sounds and you could almost taste the Greek food coming off the pages.

This was so much more than just a romantic read and was a journey of discovery for the characters and showed that given time and being in the right place and amongst the right people healing could happen and that life can be fun again.

Lydia Broom is living her second-best life. With her dreams of being a chef left in the dust she instead finds solace writing about the dishes she wished she created. When Lydia's sent to Corfu on an assignment, she's excited to see what culinary delights the island has to offer, but nothing seems to tickle her fancy - until she tastes the creations of local cook, Thanos Nicolaidis.

Nothing is better than being transported to Corfu for a summer read. This is a nice slow burn romance, ideal for relaxing on the beach. After reading Staying Out for the Summer by the same author I didn’t know whether to bother with this book but fortunately it was a vast improvement!

Absolutely loved this story of Lydia and Caroline on the island of Greece. My husbands grandad was Greek so I was able to recognise some of the food mentioned and I’ve even done the Greek dancing at family parties. And who doesn’t want to come across a handsome Greek chef.

Absolutely Delightful, my favourite book this year!

I absolutely loved this book. I literally got to the end and wanted to start again to devour it from the start. There were no parts of this book where I had to plough on. I loved it all.

Lydia was once a top chef and is now a food writer. Her best friend and colleague Caroline knows nothing about food unless it is fried she won’t eat it. Caroline organises a trip to Corfu to creat a Luxe Living special Greek edition.

Thanos is fed up filleting tuna on Tuesdays, following a tragic accident he is his fourteen year old brother Onassis guardian. He has to work but his passion is food. Ismena his elderly neighbour who took both brothers under her wing is a force of nature and has plans for the boys that involve anything but settling.

Lydia and Thanos meet after Thanos helps a friend out and she tastes his cooking. Through fate or chance the two meet again in Thanos’s home town. Thanos helps Lydia rediscover herself and her love of cooking and Thanos begins to open up himself and truly seek what he is passionate about.

The characters in this book are all wonderful. Lydia is kind and warm where Caroline is hilarious and loving. Thanos is handsome and gentle. Ismena is by far my favourite character.p, everyone needs an Ismena in their life. Lydia’s parents defy the norm in terms of stereotypes which is lovely and real.

This book will is heartwarming and hilarious. I would give it six stars if I could!

I feel like rushing off to book a holiday to Corfu after reading this book! The story brought the scenery, sights, smells and tastes of Corfu alive and I’d love to sit and eat the gorgeous food cooked by Thanos and Lydia. The story took a little while to get going with lots of Greek names, which got a little confusing, plus Lydia’s friend and colleague was incredibly annoying and I couldn’t really imagine them being friends, however by the end I understood Caroline a lot more. A cracking beach read - even better if that beach is situated on Corfu! Grab a sun bed, slap on the sunscreen, grab a cool glass of something and relax with this romantic, funny and delicious book!

I can’t put my finger on why I didn’t enjoy this book, I usually enjoy chicklit but found this too much of a drag if I’m honest, I may try another of this author’s books as don’t want to judge them just on this one story

I received an ARC, of A Taste of Greek Summer, by Mandy Baggot. I really did not enjoy this book. I found it too vulgar, the characters too immature.

You have food, travel, romance and laughter all in one. It doesn't get much better than that. I feel like the character progression was lacking but overall the story and feels were there.

This book transported me straight to the island of Corfu in Greece. The descriptions of the food and island were so detailed, and Lydia’s personal journey was so well done. If you’re looking for a vacation romance that will immerse you completely - this one is for you!

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC!

A gorgeous cover and a wonderful story. The corfu setting wax beautiful but even better was the story. I loved Lydia’s emotional journey even more than her romance with Thanos. There was a great cast of characters with Caroline and Onassis and who doesn’t need an ismena in their life? There were moments that made me laugh, moments that bought a tear to my eye and many moments that made me hungry. A perfect beach read.

A quick and easy read that I found myself picking up after a long day to unwind. The characters are beautifully written and I came to love them within the first few pages and was rooting for them all the way to the end. At times I wanted to stop reading because I just wanted the experience to go on for longer.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Find yourself transported to the beautiful Greek island of Corfu with Mandy Baggot’s latest novel, A Taste of Greek Summer. This book has everything you could wish for: romance, comedy and fabulous characters all set against a beautiful Mediterranean backdrop. I found this book impossible to put down. The descriptions of the food and the island have certainly made me want to book another trip to Corfu. I would highly recommend this book and rate it 5 stars. Thank you to NetGalley, Embla Books and the author for the chance to review.

I received an ARC from Netgalley in return for an honest review.

This was a lovely, entertaining story set in the delightful island of Corfu with a delightful hero and heroine in Thanos and Lydia with a cast of characters who add much to the story.

However, I disliked Caroline and almost didn’t progress past the first couple of chapters because of her. She really was an annoying, adolescent character whom I could not imagine anyone wanting to be friends with.
However, I continued and tried to ignore Caroline’s antics and focus on the rest of the story.

This was an enjoyable read (apart from Caroline) and I loved the Corfu references as it’s one of my favourite Greek islands.
