Overly sweet and sappy, yes. But it is nice to see a book focusing on close-knit relationships between fathers and daughters going about their day together while the mom is at work. The illustrations glow. The repeating phrase, "On days like today, when mommies are away, daddies and daughters stick together!" It is great to see a father participating in the normal home routines that books usually reserve for women. The simplicity and ease of the story and illustration are sure to make this a perfect baby shower gift.

A much needed book in the parent-child relationship canon.

Wow, what an incredibly moving read. Aissatou Balde and Diariatou Sow wrote a story based on the unconventional narrative of a stay at home dad whose love for his daughters is so clearly shown through his cooking, his teaching, their daily affirmations and more. It was so eye opening and refreshing to read a book that changes the way we look at a ‘typical’ family dynamic. The story was so touching, I had tears in my eyes by the end. The illustrations are bright and beautiful and connect to the story perfectly. This is a book that should be in every home and every classroom.
