This is another book by Gerritsen that is a quick read...enjoyable and intriguing. Jane, the protagonist, a police woman has her hands full with murder, mayhem, and mom. She juggles her career with her homelife, including a child. However, the biggest and most significance "matter" seems to be keeping her mom out of trouble. I chuckled when I read how her mom gets into so much trouble. Always coming out almost unscathed. When this series was on television, I did not watch it, as I was involved in my own career. I have since watched on Hulu or Netflix and loved it. I wish they would revive this series. In the meantime, I will continue to enjoy the stories that this author weaves for us...red herrings...but always coming full circle. This is a good one. Book sent to me electronically for review by Netgalley.

Great book! I read a very weird review about this book so I was Leary ?! But I guess I have no idea what that person meant or got out of this book because I thought it was a great story! This book had a bit of everything! It had suspense, intrigue, action, so many twists and turns , A great surprising who done it and great police work! The characters were very interesting I loved the mom! She got in everyone's business but I loved her! I highly recommend reading this book! It was very enjoyable and highly entertaining! Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me! Identity politics?! I just don't see it?!

Oh, Tess... Can you possibly get more Woke/PC?? The story was so polluted with identity politics that I found I just couldn't continue reading at the 20% mark. This used to be a great series, but no more. I won't be back.
