I really enjoyed the first book in the series. The second book was enjoyable, but I found myself a little disappointed. I had hopes for the third installment but found myself more irritated with Nina’s decisions than engaged in the story. I did end up skimming a few parts as I found some of Nina’s behaviors unrealistic for an FBI agent.

I found Bianca more interesting in this installment and hope to continue to see her character develop. It wasn’t a bad book, just not as wonderful as the first, or good as the second. I will continue to read the series in the hope that the magic of the first book can be revisited.

Thank you to Thomas and Mercer for access to a digital ARC via NetGalley.

Thanks to Thomas & Mercer and the author for an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

I’ve loved every book in this series so far and The Falcon did not disappoint. I love Nina and her team and, whilst some plot elements are perhaps a bit predictable, there’s enough going on to keep you guessing and keep you turning pages. I flew through this in a day and a half and will definitely continue this series!

What an explosive thriller this book was! I absolutely loved the twist and turns. I even enjoyed the unexpected turn of the events in the end. Also, who would have thought that a budding romance would blossom within the tunnels. Bianca I have to give high hands props to her character. The writer did a wonderful job with writing her in. Her intelligence and ability to think under pressure was awesome. I liked that the writer did a thorough research on all the detailed information that was supplied in the book, from the military aspect to the archeological research . The book was a bit long winded for me, but for the people who love deciphering all the little details of a thriller book, then this book is for you.

This is the the third book in this series. I did not read the first two books so I have no idea what I might have missed. If you like books set in Egypt then you will like this one. Serial killing, ancient embalming practices, and strong characters

This has become one of my favorite detective mystery series! Just like the first two books I flew through this book! Isabella Maldonado is a fabulous writer! I have come to know and enjoy the team that Special Agent Nina Guerrera works with and every book I have been able to get to know them even better! But also seeing the changes that Nina's character is going through. I absolutely can't wait to see what will happen in the next book!

Young, pretty, and talented girls are disappearing from a university campus without a trace until their corpses are found in an old mine. There is still one victim to be found, all the others are being studied by the coroner as there seems to be some kind of ancient ritual involved in their deaths. At the same time, Nina is working in this case, she is getting acquainted with her newly found family, and is able to picture what life would have been like if she had had a family. Everything goes havoc when Nina's "sister", Bianca goes missing. The Falcon is a very good mystery thriller story, full of action, and insights into relationships and familial ties. A must-read for those who love this genre.
I downloaded a free copy of this book through NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.

The Falcon is the latest book by Isabella Maldonado. I didn't realize until well into the story that this is the 3rd in a series about FBI agent Nina Guerrera, but I had no problems following along. The Falcon is well written and enjoyable even though some of it is very predictable. I want to thank NetGalley and Thomas & Mercer for an early copy to review.

This is the third book in the series. I haven’t read the others yet but they’re on my list to read. You won’t be able to put the book down. If you like mysteries with a strong protagonist, you will like this one.

Spellbinding from the beginning! Pulls you in with the gritty characters and strong woman in the lead character. Never saw the ending at all, was totally surprised! Couldn't put it down, 5 stars for me!

Fantastic wrap up of the Nina Guerrera series. Book 3 in this series did not disappoint with yet another case for Nina and her FBI team to solve. A bit gritty with the details at times, but for those of us who like those kinds of stories, this was perfect! I always find it fascinating when FBI profilers can get into the mind of a killer and seek out patterns to help identify and capture "unsubs".

This book is due out June 28, 2022. This can be read as a standalone but is more satisfying when read as a series. Thank you to #netgalley and #thomas&mercerpublishing for my advanced copy.

I was so excited to see this book available. As a lover of this series so far I couldn't wait to read it.

Unfortunately, my excitement ended there. The magic of the first book in the series was just missing from this one.

It didn't hold my attention at all. I found my mind wandering and found myself skimming the book just waiting for it to end.

It makes me sad that a book series with so much promise didn't deliver with the third book.

I really enjoyed this book. Its the third book of the series and I liked getting to know the characters better. I'm hoping there is a fourth book in the series that dives deeper into their personal lives. I like that the main character is a female badass who can hold her own. I did not predict the ending so that was good too. Overall, I would rate it as 4.4/5.

I had little idea that the Amazon First novel I’d recently read would lead to the 3rd book in the series. I had not read the second and made sure to read A Different Dawn first as I like to read in order so I understand characters and their place in a story. Special Agent Nina Guerra, Warrior Girl, and the team of FBI agents are up against a cunning and nasty villain who is kidnapping and killing young coeds from a Phoenix tech college and they can’t figure out how. I enjoy the way Maldonado writes her characters so you can understand the process of analyzing, researching, and brainstorming through every clue and idea showing it’s not easy to solve a crime. The team will spend hours to be sure they get the guy but only at the risk of their own and other’s lives, coming dangerously close to a bad ending. I am glad we once again see Nina interacting with her newly discovered family. It further develops her personality, she sees herself flawed while we watch her grow. Nina’s character development based on her past gives reason to her determination to save the victim. At the same time character development of the flawed killer by introducing his past and how it relates to “The Falcon, provides a foundation to solving a crime and capturing evil. I highly recommend the novel and hope to see more in the series in the future.

4 Stars

I was a big fan of "Mindhunter" on Netflix, so when I read the synopsis of this series, I was drawn in by some of the similarities. Admittedly, the first book in this series has been in my Kindle queue for a few months (so many books, so little time!) The character development is strong, the storyline is intriguing and there are enough thrills to hold the readers attention.

I am currently reading the first two books in the series and will re-read this to see how everything ties together. My initial impression was that this book was sufficient as a stand alone.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Thomas & Mercer for the digital ARC!

The Falcon is the third book in the Nina Guerrero series and I couldn't wait to get my hands on a copy (Thanks NetGalley for an ARC, this will not change my views in any way, shape or form. I will be purchasing this on release still!). I have a kinship with Nina since the first book and in The Falcon we see her grow more, learn more about basic emotions (Something she struggles with due to her past) and see possibilities in her future for things she has never had.

As this is the third book I will say you need to read the others before taking this one up. Although each book does hash over things that had happened in the previous books you don't get the depth or character development.

I never give spoilers with any of my books, nor tell you what the synopsis says. I will say the mystery of The Falcon is clever with plenty of red herrings to keep you guessing and enough mystery to wet most appetites. The University setting was perfect and I enjoyed (As always) the chapters by The Falcon as they are a real insight with the story.

A solid 4 stars for The Falcon (And maybe another Kindle unlimited read once released). I would recommend the whole series too!

Nina Guerrero returns in The Falcon, along with her FBI teammates, to investigate the disappearance of several young girls from a prestigious technical college in Phoenix. We also see Nina have some interactions with her biological family, as well as see a little bit more of the delightful Bianca who is touring the same tech university where Nina's team is working.

There is much to enjoy in the Falcon but for some reason it didn't have the excitement of the last 2 entries in the series. I think I would have liked to have seen Nina act on a more personal level with her family, Bianca and certain members of her team but this was still a solid read which I would recommend.

Thanks to Thomas & Mercer and NetGalley for this ARC.

This third book in the Nina Guerrera series, Nina and her FBI Team are investigating a series of disappearances of female students on a university campus.
Nina and the team had me captivated from the beginning and did not disappoint! This a great continuation of the series & I hope it continues! I highly recommend this book and hope the series continues.

Thank you to Netgalley and publisher Thomas & Mercer for the ARC for an honest review.

Much more than the hyped psychological thriller reads, this book surprised me. It's such a page turner!

Now I am planning to add every book by the author and read them all!

I didn't expect to become a great fan our female protagonist in the series. And now I am!

She's smart, comforting and so like the imperfect perfect adult who I would love to inow more about. She's the FBI agent Nina Guerrera.

Again, I didn't expect to love a detective story this much!

Plot: Six female undergraduates disappeared. Things become more chaotic with the media and the concerned families demanding action to solve the issue. We are dealing with a calculative, master mind of a serial killer here. Nina wants to do something before the killer strikes their next hunt.

It's such a fast paced read. The entire team working with the main character is very convincing. Never have I read such an action packed detective/FBI crime read this page turning in the past few months.

Get ready for a good twist!

Thank you, Thomas & Mercer, for the advance reading copy.
