This YA take on Groundhog Day is a winner! I loved Barrett and Miles' journey figuring out the time loops. The romance had some very sweet moments, and the ending was satisfying. Recommend for those looking for a fun escape for a couple of hours!

I never know how I feel about time travel stories, yet I continue to read them. At first, I found the continuous loop repetitive and too implausible (I was not a fan of the movie Groundhog Day to begin with). I had NO idea how Solomon would keep the plot going for an entire book and was hoping the premise was similar to In a Holidaze where the time travel ends midway. While that was not the case, the plot definitely evolves, and I grew to love the story.

What won me over was Solomon’s quirky characters, diverse representation, body and sex positive messages, and the beautifully written love story. I was given an early ARC as a Jewish reviewer, and I wanted to highlight how well she integratedJewish culture and religion into the story and emphasized how there is not one way to be Jewish. In terms of the romance, this was a slow-burn, and I appreciated how a deep emotional connection and friendship was developed before any physical intimacy. Barrett and Miles got to know each other by simply asking questions about their family, friends, interests and life experiences. These conversation also paved a pathway to talk about the more difficult and sensitive topics, such as high school bullying, their own anxieties and family pressures. I didn't care for the conflict between the two main characters but fortunately, it didn't play a huge piece in the story.

I don't think I liked this one as much as Today Tonight Tomorrow, but it was still enjoyable for the most part. I'm also not a fan of Groundhog Day trope to begin with--I feel like it starts getting really repetitive at one point, which is obviously intentional, and the same happened here where some of the ways Miles and Barrett spent their days felt like plot fillers. I also wish there was a stronger hate-to-lovers arc here (I feel like Barrett barely hated Miles before they became friends) but they were still very cute!

I feel like this review makes it seem like it I didn't like the book, but that's not true, I did enjoy it a lot. I think I'm just comparing it a lot to Today Tonight Tomorrow, which isn't totally fair cause it's truly so hard to top that book.

Where do I start?! I loved this novel. The older I get (ha), the more picky I am about YA and THIS BOOK is some true-blue brilliant YA. It takes on "Groundhog Day" with gusto and representation! Kudos on weaving in real characters in a natural way, you know like real life!

Barrett is not size 6, Jewish, and a badass/relatable female character with a bisexual mom and Japanese American,Jewish, male enemy turns lovers counterpart. Phew! Amazing!

This book is fun, charming, and offers the slow build romance that I live for. I highly recommend "See You Yesterday" by Rachel Lynn Solomon!

Rachel Lynn Solomon is undoubtedly an autobuy author now. I absolutely loved Today Tonight Tomorrow (yes I'm a half Jewish gifted kid with an academic rival, shut up), so I had high hopes for See You Yesterday, and it really delivered on those.
First up, our lovely cast of characters! One of the benefits of a time loop is that everyone has ample time for development. It was really interesting seeing how different circumstances affected the different characters, especially Lucie. Everyone certainly had time to get to know each other, even the people who weren't involved in the loop. One thing I really loved about these characters was how imperfect they were. I feel like a lot of 18-year-old characters or just general YA characters have to be incredibly traditionally attractive. but Solomon wrote characters with insecurities and people who didn't love them any less because of those.
Next as always, relationships! Like I said above, a time loop is certainly great for getting to know people. The main characters learned a lot about each other's lives and it wasn't at all insta love, which made everything flow really well. Miles and Barrett were so good for each other, but you also had people like Lucie that Barrett became closer with the more she learned. They weren't afraid to communicate, which can be all too rare sometimes.
Lastly, plot and the book itself. One thing I know about time loops is that they make me anxious. Not the whole thing, just that specific "it's going to reset anyways so why bother" moment. Because of the rules of this "Groundhog Day" situation in particular, I couldn't always be stress-free. However, I did really enjoy the book. There was a lot of Science Stuff (TM) surrounding the loop, but it was dumbed-down enough for me to understand for the most part. This book was definitely unique in a really good way.
I'd definitely recommend this book to those who already like Solomon, but also people who want a romance that sits on the more NA scale of NA and YA with characters you know you'll love. I have no regrets about this book.

Imagine it's your first day of college and everything goes wrong- your high school nemesis is your new roommate, you tank the interview for a position you’ve dreamed off on the school newspaper, and you set a frat house on fire. When you wake up the next morning, it’s the same day- a do over of the first day. At first, Barrett is confused in this take on the movie Groundhog Day, especially when she realizes the annoying guy from physics, Miles, is also repeating the day like her. But there are so many possibilities…. I absolutely loved this book. I loved how the relationship develops between Barrett and Miles. Also, I really appreciate that this book is almost completely redoing the day over and over. This was my first YA by Rachel Lynn Solomon but it’s not my last. She’s an auto-read author for me now!

Thank you so much to Simon and Schuster for the eARC of this book! Once again, Rachel Lynn Solomon has stolen my heart with another incredible book. I really will read ANYTHING that she writes! This was a unique romance with a Groundhog Day premise, when two strangers realize they’ve both been stuck in a time loop.

Barrett is a plus sized, Jewish female MC (and who’s mom is a bisexual, single mom) who has some serious trauma in her path that she’s never really faced. Miles is a Japanese American, Jewish male MC who has always held himself to a very safe and sheltered lifestyle, not wanting to take any risks that might add stress to his family dynamic. I love the ups and downs of their relationship progression, from being snarky strangers, to going on adventures as friends, to realizing they may have romantic feelings for each other.

There’s many emotional and raw moments as both Barrett and Miles are forced to finally face some of the hardest parts of their pasts. As a reader, it definitely made me think about how every choice you make influences the path you’re on, no matter how inconsequential it may seem. And the possibility of parallel universes… it just makes my mind hurt to think about, but in a good way 🤯 😂

RLS does a fabulous job of making the most ordinary things so romantic—like watching someone engage the parking brake—and let’s be honest, we’ve all been there and she just makes it so RELATABLE. There’s a good amount of spice that doesn’t detract from the character’s journeys. If you’re looking for a quick smutty read—this isn’t it—but my favorite types of romances are always ones where the plot and emotional connection is developed first, with spicy moments being included as an important (and fun to read 😜) secondary focus.

As with everything she writes, I love the representation RLS included in this book. Both the main and the side characters are diverse and have a variety of backgrounds, which is so refreshing to read. This may be my favorite RLS book yet. It’s seriously that good!

A fresh take on the time loop! Solomon's romantic comedies continue to be all-time favorites of mine. The characters are dynamic and lovable (especially the main character, Barrett), and I so desperately want to be transported into this never-ending day with them.

This is the first book I've read of author Rachel Lynn Solomon's, and as far as YA goes, it was thoroughly enjoyable and well written. There's just enough body for the more cliché (and sometimes pandering) bits to remain palatable. I personally love when books include science and technology in a way that is relevant and feels authentic, but also remains accessible to those of us who may struggle with the mechanics of the subjects discussed. Here, physics is a major piece of the book-- both in the time travel sense and in that Barrett and Miles meet in Physics class and continue to return to said class each day-- but it's dealt with well, explaining what we need to know without diving too deeply and getting bogged down with the details. Both main characters are lovable outcasts, because YA, but they're both so well developed and their relationship with one another makes them truly endearing. They remind me a bit of Hazel and Augustus from The Fault in Our Stars, as they struggle with internal and external obstacles and butt up against each other, until they realize there are mutual romantic feelings budding.

rachel you have done it again!!! this story is PHENOMENAL! i had so much fun reading it! you know the feeling of getting giddy and kicking your feet like a school girl? that’s exactly what i was doing during the moments with barrett and miles! i absolutely adored barrett and felt for her as we got to know her backstory and what happened to her her senior year. and miles ugh my heart couldn’t take it! i liked how we saw him come out of his shell and release some of that uptightness he was holding. as the story progresses we get more and more of what makes these characters who they are and it was done seamlessly! the plot and the story flowed really well and i thoroughly enjoyed this book! from the little quirks and everything in between, it was well worth it and i recommend this book to anyone who will listen!

I was so excited and nervous to try this new arc from Rachel Lynn Solomon. I have had the pleasure of reading two of her adult romance novels (The Ex Talk and Weather Girl) and really loved both, but this was my first YA read of hers. Lucky for me, Rachel brought her perfect brand of wit, romance and representation for another wonderful love story!

The story was charming, sweet, and had this perfect balance of enemies to lovers / slow burn romance going. I was nervous because it was a Groundhog Day style story line – but this is by far the best of that trope I have come across. I loved Barrett and Miles – they were both such wonderful, rich characters with different experiences and they each felt very real to me. I was rooting for them, and just adored a certain scene that I was anticipating so eagerly throughout my read.

I read this entire book over the course of a day, and it was a wonderful way to spend my snowy Saturday – getting swept away and wrapped up in all the feels and nostalgia the book gave me for college…(Fair warning – get ready to also have a serious craving for mozzarella sticks). There were so many things I loved about this read, but some highlights for me:
• The representation – a curvy heroine, different cultural backgrounds, mental health
• Enemies to Lovers story line with a slow burn romance element
• Time Travel / Time Loop trope – done so well! (I also loved the ‘science’, exploration of plausibility bits)
• The getting to know you / “dates” adventures for Miles and Barrett

I was very worried at the end, but I loved how this one turned out and I honestly cannot wait for my driveway to be clear – I need to head to the bookstore and grab another RLS YA book right away!

i honestly want to cry because of how amazing this book is😭 it’s one of those books where you don’t ever want to put it down because you want to see what happens next. it was so cute and wholesome and really exciting to read! i’m so grateful for the arc!

miss barrett bloom🥺 truly the cutest girl ever! i swear i wanted to give her the biggest hug! how anyone could hurt her i’ll never understand. she’s so full of light and care for others and is just the sweetest soul. she’s the kind of girl you’d definitely want to be best friends because you know she wouldn’t let you down. even after everything that’s happened in high school she still tried to make things right with lucie multiple times and i find that really admirable. there would never be a dull moment with barrett bloom💗 (even though she might want some now after everything her and miles have been through lol)

and miles🥺 he’s so freaking wholesome i can’t handle it. definitely on my list of top book boyfriends now😂 the way he cared for barrett was so special and beautiful! he’s another person that would definitely want to have in your corner because he’s such a good guy. the way he loved his brother even after everything that happened with so beloved and it made me cry. he’s been a lot too and is still such an amazing person. i want to give him the biggest hug too! i’m speechless when it comes to miles because he’s just so good. (guys, read this book and you’ll know what i mean i swear he’ll be one of your best book boyfriends lol)

i 100000% recommend this book! i love the whole groundhog day storyline and this book did it flawlessly! if you enjoy physics and some fluffy romances, then you’ll definitely enjoy this book! happy reading!💗

THIS REVIEW IS A STRUGGLE!! Why? You might ask? Because I loved this book oh so much! The story, the characters- I laughed and smiled and swooned and cringed and maybe even cried. It was long and it was worth it.
BUT I was so disappointed in the language. It’s listed as YA. YA! It has a sex on paper, tons of F bombs, and the thing that bothered me the most- the use of Jesus as a curse. If the latter had happened at the beginning of the book, before I was engrossed in the story, I would have put it down. It was offensive and didn’t add to the book in any way.

See You Yesterday is the perfect example of how to take a popular trope and flip it to make it even better. In this Groundhog Day-inspired tale, we meet Barrett, a college freshman hoping that escaping high school will mean a fresh start. After a truly horrible first day, she wakes up to realize that it is September 21st…again. Then she finds out that Miles, a guy from her physics class that made her first day even worse, has also been stuck in the same day…for months. Together, the two must figure out a way to escape the time loop (while they banter and flirt).

By far the best take on the Groundhog Day trope that I have read. No one can write a lovable, snarky teen like Rachel Lynn Solomon. I adored Barrett and Miles. Their romance was such a well done slow burn and their banter deserved an award. I cannot express how much I loved this one. Every time I think I have found my all-time favorite Solomon romcom, she just releases another and makes me swoon away. Will be incessantly recommending this one to other readers.

Damn. The YA genre has massively improved since I was a YA. Where was RLS when I was a teen camping out at my local library?!

See You Yesterday is a modern Groundhog Day/time loop romcom about a college freshman, determined to reinvent herself after a treacherous high school experience, being forced to repeat her hellish first day over and over and discovers the rude guy from her Physics class has been stuck in this time loop for months.

I know I have a flair for the dramatic with my reviews, but y'all, this blew me away. The time loop concept is tricky to nail - it may seem simple, but the story can get too caught up in repetition or plot holes and lose the reader's attention. Plus, the scientific basis can be difficult to explain and execute without landing awkwardly or minimizing its importance.

There's no issue here. SYY is engaging and fresh with lovable, relatable characters who all have redeeming character arcs. (Even the supporting characters!) The pacing is on point, the writing flows so beautifully, the themes were heartfelt and not preachy, and the conflict. Oh, the conflict! *chef's kiss* Yes, yes, the time loop factor poses innate problems, but! The conflict here felt like RLS sat back and let the complex characters take the reins. In short, it's character driven conflict and nothing feels forced or manufactured.

So yeah, I couldn't find a single thing I didn't like. Brownie points for the unintentional nostalgia for my college years. (Ahh yes, those awkward days... I'm so glad they're over 😂)

I highly recommend this if you want a well-balanced story (re: light, fun tone with an earnest look at human nature), need a good book to get out of a reading slump, or just want to find your next favorite book.

I absolutely ADORED this book! It was such a fun time from start to finish. The romance was slow burn, swoon worthy, and absolutely adorable. Oh.. and it’s enemies to lovers😍🥵

Plot:
The plot was so much fun! Who doesn’t love a good time loop?! I am a sucker for slightly magical romances and this one did not disappoint! It added a unique and fun element to the story that I wasn’t expecting!

The Characters:
OMG I LOVE BARRETT BLOOM. She is a chaotic, yet lovable heroine who is SO relatable. Reading from her perspective was just so much fun. I also adored Miles, the hero in the story! He was such a SWEETHEART. The character development in this story was fantastic. Not only is this a romance, but it’s also a story of self discovery and acceptance for both main characters which I really appreciated. Both Barrett and Miles grew so much throughout the story and it was beautiful to read!

Final Thoughts:
See You Yesterday is yet another hit from @rlynn_solomon ! The time loop/magical elements kept the plot moving forward and added such a fun twist! Both Barrett and Miles are relatable, real, and well developed characters who you can’t help rooting for! I can’t wait for everyone to read it on May 3rd!

One of Rachel Lynn Solomon's best!! I truly loved this book and am obsessed with Barrett Bloom. She is a badass and I want to be her friend. This was such a fun time-travel story that never got old or boring. I was hooked on every scene and the repeating days never felt stale. I truly didn't know how it was going to end and was rooting for Barrett and Miles the whole way.

Barrett, who had a rather unpleasant experience in high school, is hoping college will be different. Her first day doesn’t exactly go as planned, but when she wakes up on what should be her second day, she realizes she is actually living September 21st all over again. Enter Miles who she met on her first September 21st and then again on her second, who has been stuck on the same day for months. Will they ever be able to move on to September 22nd?

Rachel Lynn Solomon does it again with this one. This ground hogs day like story is so unique, and filled with Miles and Barrett are super likable characters you can’t help but root for, both separately and together.

What I loved most about this book is the strong Jewish representation. Not only are there Jewish characters, but insights to Jewish culture - bagels and all!

I love RLS and I love a good time loop… and oh my goodness THIS. BOOK! Wow, it brought me right back to college and every single emotion that comes along with it. See You Yesterday made me just as wistful for college as it made me glad those years are behind me.

This is a new take on the groundhogs day theme and I did enjoy that element of the story even when wishing some of the earlier chapters were snappier and quicker. Barrett and Miles are flawed but ultimately good kids. I was rooting for them! And the ending is just so sweet and will make you text your best girlfriend just to tell her you love her.

This is a quick fun read that is probably best for older teens and YA (and of course us old millennials).

This book is so smart, funny, and pulls at all the heartstrings. There's nothing like having the existential angst of starting college and adding being in a time loop! I appreciate that they approached the time loop from all the ways we see it resolved in tv and movies.

I am so grateful for this book because many parts of it rang true for me and spoke to me, as I thought back on starting college and trying to find my place in a new environment. When Barrett shares about her first time having sex and wanting to feel wanted, I understand how that affects her whole worldview and experience with men in every encounter afterward.

Rachel Lynn Solomon really knows how to do Jewish representation well. It's not heavy-handed, it's just part of who they are. I love that there's a joke about them both being in the time loop because they're Jewish and being "Chosen." I understand how Barrett feels when she's sad and anxious about not reaching Friday and Shabbat and going to Hillel, especially since Hillel was a huge part of my college experience.

The one place where I got confused is on the timeline of the tennis story incident. For a lot of the book I thought it happened later in high school (junior or senior year), but it was actually very early in her high school career.
