I thought this book was a cute, enjoyable read. However, the picture book/board book market is huge and this book doesn't really distinguish itself from the rest. I can see a large library system buying a couple copies, but it's not a must-have.

This book central message about teaching children how deforestation and habit loss affect animals is critical. The artwork is beautiful. However, I believe the book contains too many words for young children to understand. Maybe a different target audience?

This is a children's book on the impact of deforestation and climate change. This would be a great way to start conversations about climate change and taking care of the Earth with little ones!

A touching story that my 2nd grade students loved. Teaches some good lessons of bravery and kindness. A great book for any classroom!

The forest is home to many animals, including Aasha and her tiger friends.
Slowly, changes were taking place (climate change) until Aasha’s natural habitat was inhabitable. Animals left or disappeared until Aasha was the only one. Soon new animals started appearing devastating Aasha’s very home (deforestation).
Aasha, the very last tiger, left the place she called home and began searching. Will she ever find what she is looking for? Hope.
The illustrations are amazing as is the powerful message for our little ones. The story highlights the very real impact humans have on the world from climate change to deforestation, resulting in animal extinction.
The very informative backmatter dives deeper into our impact as well as enlightening facts on extinct and endangered species.

I received an arc of this title from NetGalley for an honest review. Love the illustrations in this book but it is kind of sad about becoming the very last of your species.

I really enjoyed this picture book, that follows a tiger named Aasha, The illustrations are beautiful, and I loved the design of the animals and the setting, I also loved that this picture book focused on climate change, endangered animals, and deforestation. All of these are big problems, and important for children to learn about. I liked the nonfiction section in the back, though some of the next was a bit small and I thought some of the information could have been incorporated into the story more.

This book really tugs on the heartstrings! It's a great way to teach kids about climate change and the dangers of deforestation. Aasha is a wonderful character that kids are bound to love. The illustrations were great and it's really easy to understand. This book is so important. Hopefully it'll teach future generations to respect the Earth and the animals better than we have.

The Last Tiger by Beck Davies is a tale about global warming and deforestation. It brings to light how these two have changed animal habitats and endangered several species. One of those species is the tigers, who have to find new homes after their habitats are destroyed. I empathized with the plight of Aasha and hoped she will find a new home. However, it was surprising that an orangutan was a friend of Aasha. I wondered how Aasha could remain calm and not eat it when it was hungry. The illustrations were splendid. The information in the back is good to learn about eco-friendly ways to live and buy and to protect endangered species.

I love tigers. And they’re likely to disappear from this planet through the actions of humans: deforestation and other human activities leading to a loss of habitat and climate change.
Of course, lots of other creatures are endangered and destroyed by us, and this book tries to show kids that some actions may help to restore the shocking loss of stunning creatures like the tiger, and the things they depend on, such as jungles, clean water, and big prey.
Thank you to Netgalley and to Publisher Spotlight for this ARC in exchange for my review.

A tiger watches as the animals around him leave or disappear with the changing landscape of deforestation. Tiger makes an unlikely friendship with an orangutan and the set out in search for a new home that has been untouched by humans.
A simple story about the impact humans have on the landscape, ecology and food chain. At the end of the book there is a glossary of terms and small lists of animals that have gone extinct and animals that are endangered. The author also explains how some of what we eat impacts the animals and the forests they call home. Further reading list is provided along with online resources.
This book would be a good story to introduce the concept of environmentalism for younger grades.

First off, I LOVE the art in this book. So sweet, and soft. The tiger's expressions were my favourite. I found the story could have benefited from being a little longer and more filled out, but it definitely made its point about the general degradation and destruction of the animals' home.

A great book about a tiger coping with deforestation and the destruction of her habitat. Teaches children the importance of protecting species while also sending a hopeful message that the effects of climate change and greed can be reversed by creating new habitats for endangered species. Beautifully illustrated, this is a book you definitely want for your babies.

Aasha loves her home in the forest. But suddenly Aasha's home begins to change. The animals are disappearing and suddenly Aasha is alone. Now she must find a new home in a changing world.
The Last Tiger is a great introduction to the need for conservation for little ones. With beautiful illustrations and wonderful storytelling, Davies and Poh deliver a touching tale of the endangered tiger.

This book has a beautiful art style that brings the rainforest to life. The story follows Aasha as she contrasts how life used to be enjoying the forest and playing with other tigers compared to the way it is now - after scorching hot days, floods, and smoking creatures with silver teeth. The journey she takes leads her from despair and confusion to the deforestation that is occurring in her home to hope and optimism that the rainforest may recover and she may find "home" again.
The story of Aasha alone leaves the reader with a view of concern, confusion and hesitant hope that Aasha feels. However, this book has the most impact when you read the non-fiction note from the author that explains terms like climate change, deforestation, endangered species, and poaching. I almost wish that this section was longer to really explain the where and how. This would be a great book to jumpstart a research project or to introduce the concept of human's impacting their environment. This book is a great addition to Davies's other books on the same topics of activism and global change.

The last tiger is an excellent story about a tiger whose home including the trees and animals around it are slowly disappearing until the tiger is all alone and left searching for friends.. I loved the representation of human impact on environment and the need to protect forests and animals.
The illustrations were great.

While The Last Tiger is a good way to introduce colonization of land how capitalism ravishes communities, it all ends a bit too neat. There isn't infinite space for animals to find hope and refuge. Many die and those realities might be helpful to begin to unravel for young people, too.

Such a beautiful yet tragic book.. I loved the art work and the writing. I think it is an important book to raise the next generation on!

Poignant story of a tiger becoming left behind as humans encrouch on his home, driving away all the other animals from their forest. He finds one other animal that is left behind and together they find their way to a new wild home.
The illustrations were lovely,
