What I liked:

--The female protagonist was a smart, savvy, and accomplished woman who was valued for that by others.
--Both characters were honest, forthcoming, and mature, which made it easy to respect them
--Walker's relationship with his brothers was sweet and endearing, but also believably complicated
--The chemistry between the main characters and the ease of their relationship were both very enjoyable.

What didn't work for me:

--While I know this is not a final draft, there were sufficient editing issues (spelling, grammar, homonyms, continuity problems) to interfere with clear understanding of the text.
--The main characters seemed to repeat conversations and occasionally backtrack over issues that seemed to have been resolved.
--The premise for the characters' fake relationship and their climactic conflict were far-fetched and don't stand up well to logical examination.
--I think using the term "member" in intimate moments has fallen out of favor for good reason
--Perspective shifts between the characters were abrupt, sometimes happening mid-scene or mid-conversation without a smooth transition

A quick, enjoyable read. The characters were well written and the story line was good.

I was a bit confused by the portions with Remy and the mystery lady, since Remy approached Morgan directly and gave the initial push for her and Walker to "date". The fake relationship aspect didn't last long before turning into a true office romance.

I hope to see future books about the remaining Bennett brothers and the ending definitely suggested the possibility.

I recommend this to anyone who enjoys a billionaire trope and the office romance trope.

It was a bit hard for me to get into this story. This is a new author for me. It’s well written, but maybe not my cup of tea?
I couldn’t connect with Morgan and Walker. All the storyline seemed unrealistic and absurd to me. Morgan just frustrated me. She is all about mix signals. The best part for me was the relationship between the brothers. That was really good. I’d like to try again with Mac and Hope’s story.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I have to say, I had a hard time understanding how being engaged/in a serious relationship with someone else would help the public swallow your fight over a paternity suit. This book was incredibly predictable, but still enjoyable. I loved the names of the brothers - Mac, Walker, etc.

I really enjoy this authors style of writing. This book is. No different. You get into the charicter's head without it feeling like they are droning on and on. This is a fake dating story, but it didnt start out the same way most others i have read did. This made it feel like something new. It was very refreshing. I cant wait for more.

I felt bad for Walker and Morgan, being used in the manner that his family did was wrong. Yes it all works out wonderfully but the way that they went about it was hurtful. Walker didn't come off like an entitled billionaire. That's how Morgan fell for him so fast I think.

Morgan is hired to help Walker with a publicity issue. They will pose as a couple and we’re doing so, the issue with his image will be fixed. Of course as they are doing this, they fall for each other. A betrayal occurs and they split.

When I read the summary for this book, a happy ending, plenty of heat, and no cliffhanger was guaranteed. That is exactly what was provided. I have read similar novels like this before, so I knew what I was getting out of it. While I would say that the plot was very much following a formula, I will say that the author definitely made the characters likable. Walker wasn’t as I was expecting.

Walker‘s father is tied up in the betrayal and I definitely would like to find out more about his motivation. The author also has me hooked on the other two brothers, so I definitely want to read their books.

Thank you for this advanced copy and exchange for an honest review!

I am sorry for the inconvenience but I don’t have the time to read this anymore and have lost interest in the concept. I believe that it would benefit your book more if I did not skim your book and write a rushed review. Again, I am sorry for the inconvenience.

The Billionaire Chairman by Mackenzie Stowe was a pretty good and quick read. It has an office romance and faking dating book, which is a few of my favorite tropes. I enjoyed the story and the characters.

The Billionaire Chairman was my first experience reading Ms. Stowe's work. I immediately gravitated toward reading it because "fake" romance is one of my favorite genres. This was a quick, pleasant read with little angst so the storyline flowed rather quickly. I really liked the relationship aspect among the 3 brothers -- in fact, that was my favorite part of this entire read. I really liked JD--he seems like he would be a real character! Walker and Morgan's chemistry was good, but not great. I think mainly because it took me a while to connect with Morgan, but once I got into the nitty gritty of the book, it was a very enjoyable read. I'm grateful for the opportunity to have read and reviewed an ARC for NetGalley.

The Billionaire Chairman has good bones but is lacking in every other regard.

Billionaire chairman, Walker, of a liquor company is accused (publicly) of impregnating and abandoning a woman (he has never met). Morgan, marketing department employee, suggests they pretend to be in a fake romance to offset rumors of his lack of fidelity. He agrees. Sparks fly.

The pros:
- The main female character is down to earth and likable.
- The sibling interactions between the main male character (Walker) and his brothers is kind of fantastic. Very believable and enjoyable.
- Walker's oldest brother is very interesting and I really liked his character reveal.
- The spicy scenes with Walker and Morgan are well written and flow really well.

The cons:
- The premise is kind of unbelievable. It's 2022 and the scandal of a pregnancy out of wedlock would not be this extreme - especially not in New York City and belonging to a not-yet-CEO of a liquor company.
- The dialogue is stilted and clinical. Morgan is known for being blunt but it's more robotic than anything.
- There is no real character development for anyone - no character arc, no growth.
- The story is very formulaic.
- There are a number of grammatical errors, sentence fragments and run on sentences throughout the book.

Overall, I cannot, in good conscience, recommend this book.

Despite my best efforts, I cannot get past the numerous spelling/grammar errors and poor punctuation placement. I'm shocked this was a final draft. It has an intriguing premise, and the part I read was decent it definitely needs A LOT of editing.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with this eArc in exchange for an honest review.

The Billionaire Chairman by Mackenzie Stowe was an amazing read with all you wanted in an office romance and faking dating book. Stowe gives you the great banter with these characters as well as a realistic idea of sibling love with her characters and parents that care a little too much. When it comes to this book the best thing that I loved about it was that there was no miscommunication and the Walker and Morgan were as real as they come, it gives a real slice of life in the billionaire world at least. The faking dating troupe was used perfectly here for the fact they didn’t hide the fact that they knew what this started as but that they could not hide that attraction they had to each other for long. When I first started this book I was in a bit of a reading slump, but it took me right out of it and straight into their world and what more can you ask for in a book. The best part about this book was the fact that Stowe makes you want this to be a standalone series with all the other characters involved in this one book, and I hope she chooses to do so because I would pick it up right away especially if it’s Mac and Hope’s story. The only reason this book is get a 4 out of 5 stars is the fact that the parents were the whole reason behind this which makes sense and I expected this but, at the same time I would like to think parents aren’t this involved in their children’s love life but then again I’m not a parent yet so who’s to say I wouldn’t. but overall, I would highly recommend this book to anyone if they were looking for a book to get them out of a reading slump. And a thank you to Net Galley for the opportunity to read and review this book.

Morgan is on the PR team at Walkers’ family’s company, and when Walker ends up in a scandal - with a random woman saying that she got pregnant and is having his baby (which is untrue because he hasn’t slept with a woman in “over a year”) - Morgan is assigned by Walker’s father to work on the case. Her solution is to paint him as a loyal and trustworthy man by showing that he’s in a committed relationship. With her. I love fake dating tropes, especially ones of necessity for work, but this kind of fell flat for me. The writing style is a little too serious for me, and I find it hard to connect with the characters. The author tries to portray personality in them but I frankly can’t relate to them or imagine them at all & while they continually mention their “chemistry,” I don’t really feel it while reading. The premise is great, but the book kind of fell short of what I was expecting.

Thank you Netgalley and MacKenzie Stowe for the chance to read an advance copy of The Billionaire Chairman.

While the story has some amazing potential, I did feel that there were to many redundancies and places, like within the first chapter, that contradicted to the last few chapter of Morgan not being aware of the job her boss was offering her. There were also too many instances where the dialogue didn't feel natural between them; more forced and corny than anything. Although this is a quick romance read, there are several points where the chemistry worked well and while other parts need to be reworked or taken out.

I was also waiting for a bigger conflict to appear, like he actually did sleep with the woman filing the claim and that causes tension with his relationship with Morgan, leaving him to not only resolve the issue but also ask for a second chance.

Hopefully any other flaws, whether in grammar or in the story are worked well before the publication date.

3/5 stars!

There are many fairly typical elements of the fake relationship trope in THE BILLIONAIRE CHAIRMAN. What made me like it was how down-to-earth and almost shy Walker was largely because of a family life that included wealth but was grounded.

The conflict arises when lying and manipulation are exposed. The reader really gets a feel for the power of Morgan’s character when the ruse is exposed.

So, I enjoyed the story. Since I am reading an advance copy, I am thinking the final edits will be done before the book is released as is often the case. As such, my voluntary review is based on the story and overall feel I get from the writing, not the editing.

There are many mistakes in this book. I don't typically come right out and say that but it's necessary for this one. I loved the premise and the characters. Always up for a good office romance and a HEA is always nice. It's a decent comfort read!

This is a good book. The two main characters are Morgan and Walker. Walker is CEO of a company and Morgan works in the PR. Walker is involved in a scandal for the company and him personally. Morgan is assigned to help Walker to be cleared of the charges of the scandal. There is a mutual attraction between them. They have some issues but together they work through them and find out they love each other.

The Billionaire Chairman was a fun read with interesting characters. This was my first book by Mackenzie Stowe and it won’t be my last!

The book is a fun, quick read wish a promised HEA. The conflict between the MCs had an expected reaction, but it almost felt like I needed to yell at them saying ‘Didn’t you see this coming?!?’ Without giving any spoilers, I find it difficult to give more of a review……. you’ll just have to read it!!!!

I received a pre-published copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

The Billionaire Chairman
MacKenzie Stowe
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This story was a pleasant surprise, I love fake office romance so when I discovered this on Netgalley, I was like “hell yes” and while it started great, it kind of plateaued for a bit, but then boom the ending was great… I am happy to say I enjoyed this new author and will definitely look at more from her.

Upcoming CEO of Bennett Liquors, Walker Bennett, is the typical billionaire, he works hard for his company, likes to be seen about with women, but he’s not interested in settling down. His time will come, but for now the company is his major focus, until a leaked photo and the threat of paternity bombshell, he and the business goes into damage control.

Enter Morgan Shetfield, Public Relation extraordinaire. She has worked for Bennett Liquors for a few years, fitting in well, keeping dramas under control and very good at her job. She’s about to take on the biggest one yet! Hearing Walker involved with a younger woman and the pregnancy bomb, she’s called to the big bosses office. Remy stills runs Bennett and he’s about to ask more of Morgan than she ever thought. To make this little problem go away firstly they need a paternity test, and secondly Walker needs to look like a man in control and settled in his love life.

As Morgan takes on girlfriend status with Walker, it shouldn’t be to hard seeing the man is sex on legs, and what he can do in a suit (fans face)…. The pair needs to be seen in public in love. This is easy until the lines between business and pleasure blur, leaving a vulnerable Morgan exposed to a player. Little does she know those headline are not the real Walker, the man is all business but now with Morgan by his side he has a new lease on life… Discovering way more to life!

When the baby drama disappears, Morgan discovers an even bigger secret, one that ruins everything her and Walker have/had. Lies are never a way to start a relationship, but they’re definitely one to ruin one. Walker and Morgan’s perfect love was always supposed to be short lived but when higher powers get involved it’s not all rainbows and flowers!!
