The Billionaire Chairman by MacKenzie Stowe was a very well written romance story. I found the storyline well planned out and easy to follow. The characters were all meaningful and I want to know more about them. I did think this book felt longer than other romance books I read, however I thought it was great, since I loved the book!

I absolutely would recommend this romance book!

The Billionaire Chairman was a quick read and was quite steamy! I've read office love books before and this was what I thought it should be. Can't wait to read more from this author. Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for the advanced copy.

A big thank you to NetGalley and the author for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. I started off confused and ended confused. Why include the stuff with Remy? It made no sense to me? I didn't mind the story, although I did find it a bit odd. The characters weren't terrible people, the plot was a little out there but not totally unbelievable. Is this part of a series? It's a quick read. 3 stars

I really enjoyed this book!

I thought that this was a really good story with an excellent plot!

It was well written and the plot had a great flow to it, it was well planned out and I really enjoyed getting to know the characters as the book progressed. They were well developed and had some great interaction.

I thoroughly enjoyed this one - it was a romantic and sexy read.

It is 4 stars from me for this one - very highly recommended!!

The only positive I can say about this book is that it has a unique premise and setup. I was only able to get 33% through the book and DNF (unusual for me). Morgan is trying to do her job and Walker is head over heels- it just got boring and took too long to get into the “acting together stage”.

I am a sucker for an office romance. Especially when a billionaire goes after your everyday strong woman. Walker and Morgan are the cutest and I am so happy their not so great start ended up as a happy ever after. Also the brother/sibling dynamic is so wholesome that you wish Mac and JD were your brothers. This was a light-hearted fun read with just enough spice that made it a great weekend read. Will definitely be looking out for more from this author!

I hate to do this, but I cannot get over the numerous spelling/grammar issues and missing and misplaced punctuation. I cannot believe this is a finalized copy. I gave it 50 pages and couldn't go on. The premise of this book sounds fun and right up my alley, and the portion I read was enjoyable, but this is in desperate need of editing.

Overall I enjoyed the story and characters. The ending felt a bit rushed to reach the happy ending but I dont think this took away from the story. I hope to get more backstory and character development in the next books. I look forward to reading more on the Bennett brothers.

This book was full of mistakes in grammar and spelling which at times made it difficult the follow the storyline. While the basis overall story could have been a lovely romance read, it all seemed rushed. There was not much backstory on any of the characters to provide any character arcs, the tension in the beginning could have been drawn out longer, the end resolution seemed thrown together without much thought. In all, it seemed like the book was written quickly with a page limit.

The book is receiving two stars rather than one because while it was not very well written, the basic storyline was compelling.

Another ARC from NetGalley for an honest opinion. Giving this book one star is pretty generous if I’m being honest. This book seemed like a really bad fan-fiction that is somehow getting published. Maybe I received a first draft and an un-edited version, one that has not been read by any editor ever?? This book dragged on and on and I cried happy tears when it was over. I almost did not finish this book for 90% of it, but I forced myself to give the book a chance to review it in its entirety.

Now, let’s get to why this book deserves one star. Grammar was an issue: this book was full of incomplete sentences. Thoughts were punctuated with periods before they were fully formed, most of the time just mid-sentence. The same phrases were repeated over and over within a few pages of each other. There were inconsistent details throughout that contradicted each other. The book was filled with misspellings or mistyped words and sometimes lacked punctuation. The characters did not have any depth or character arc — they were pretty stagnant throughout the novel. We did not learn any sort of backstory for any character other than Walker is rich and comes from old money. In one instance, a sentence did not have punctuation and the author used the wrong verb tense. Overall, this seemed like a pretty rushed job. I did not want to finish this book and I did not like this book.

Would not recommend anyone to read it. 1/5 stars

I was not able to get into this book, and only finished it in order to be able to give a fair review. There is no depth to the characters and both of the main characters have an irritatingly extreme lack of self-confidence. There is no story arc, the main conflict in the book is given away as fake in the prologue, and any conflict that comes up within the story is immediately resolved within pages, even within the denouement. The characters keep saying how much sexual chemistry they have but it's not clear why. I kept hoping something interesting would happen if I stuck it out, but in the end I was disappointed.

This book had me at the fake-dating trope. Of course, this leads to misunderstandings and mistrust between our two main characters, but part of the fun of this book is wondering how this romance can work out for them. Walker is used to getting what he wants and (along with his meddling, powerful family) is in a position of power over Morgan, who has more of a backbone than I think anyone expected. I loved the ending, but I'm giving this book 3 stars rather than 5 because sometimes in romances, one character is so convincing about why they shouldn't be with their hero or heroine that I start to believe them... and then I become confused when things wrap up differently. This happened at the end of The Billionaire Chairman-- Morgan is convinced she can't be with Walker, and she does *too* good of a job biasing me against them as a couple! I did enjoy reading this, however, and love how the author sets up for the next book in the series. I'll check it out-- and hope that maybe next time I'm a little more convinced the characters find lasting love.

I’ve probably read dozens of “billionaire fake relationship” stories, and I’d say this one has some big pluses on the trope, but overall fell a little flat. In this story, Walker is set to take over as CEO of a large liquor distribution company, but for some reason his dad isn’t quite ready to turn over the keys. In an opening that is a little confusing, we glean that dad, Remy, wants Walker to find personal happiness (*love*) before he retires and feels ready to let Walker take over the business. After a scandal threatens Walker and the company, his dad encourages PR superstar Morgan to fake date Walker to help repair his reputation.

Things I liked:

Right off the bat I liked that Walker wasn’t an over the top misogynistic jerk, since that’s so common in these workplace alpha romances. He has some strong ethics about dating an employee, and he reassures Morgan multiple times that she doesn’t have to do this. “Morgan. I know this was your idea but if at any time it becomes too much. If you don’t want to do this, or you think this isn’t working out, all you have to do is tell me, and we will end it. No questions asked. I want you to know, I appreciate all that you’re doing and understand this can’t be easy for you. I know this is a sacrifice for you and it hasn’t gone unnoticed.” It was just nice that Walker actually expressed concern over how a scheme like this would affect Morgan, when these billionaire books always seem to push women into compromising positions that affect their careers.

I liked that Morgan was straightforward and not a pushover. Although it was confusing that her original objections to being asked to date her boss were all handled off-screen. I don’t understand how she went from “that’s an inappropriate thing to ask of me” to immediately skipping to agreeing to the fake relationship in the next chapter.

Also loved seeing the genuine love, empathy, and support between the adult brothers. The way Mac, DJ, and Walker listened and supported one another was a great showcase of emotional intelligence, which again is normally lacking in these kinds of novels.

Things I didn’t like:

The story has a strong start, but it dragged through the middle and I wasn’t convinced Morgan liked Walker enough. Somewhere at like the 85% point, Morgan is pretty content to break things off with Walker and she shows almost no angst about it - like “oh we have different lifestyles I’m gonna move on”. When I’m that far into a romance, I need my leads to be desperately in love with one another.

I didn’t like that the final conflict was resolved too much off-screen. We go from our character being justifiably upset to everything being completely resolved without being shown how it happened. It was a wild jump and felt very abrupt.

Lastly, I kept thinking to myself “It’s not weird to anyone that he’s in a PR nightmare, and the solution is for him to date the marketing/pr person? No one thought Morgan was a plant? How does this not come up!?” It took me out of the story a lot.

Overall the story didn’t quite land for me, but honestly the progressive hero bits are gonna make me come back to the next few novels in the series. Also I’m curious to see how Stowe reconciles the family machinations in the next books.

I absolutely love a good fake-dating plot line. It is one of my favorite.
Posing as a couple to fix the billionaires reputation? Yes please!

The billionaire chairman fell exactly into that category and I finished the story within a day.
I loved that they got right into it and the set up didn’t take forever.
Walker and Morgan had great chemistry and I enjoyed reading their story.
But I couldn’t give it 5 stars, because it felt a bit rushed. The entire story takes place within just 4-6 weeks (I got a bit confused by how much time actually passed) and I just like for them to spend more time together before falling for each other.
It makes it more real to me, more genuine.
Like you need to spend some time with a person to actually get to know everything about them. It won’t happen within 3 weeks.
The ending also felt a bit rushed and I feel like I missed a piece of how Morgan changed her mind by 180.

But overall if you’re looking for a light read, with minimal angst, and a cute happy ending, this is your book.

I received an arc and am voluntarily leaving a review.
