Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh. I cannot tell you the excitement that this excerpt gives me… It is so good. From the very first chapter, I was hooked, and would give anything to keep reading right now. I read the first book in the series, neon gods, and while I liked it, I did not feel the same excitement that I feel now. I just got the sequel, electric idol, in the mail yesterday, and despite not having the chance to read it yet, I still understood everything that was going on.

We only get a brief introduction to the characters in this excerpt, but I already love them all. They’re really fleshed out, and I’m so excited to read where their story will go from here.

This Hunger Games-esque novel follows Helen Kasios, who is both prize and competitor for the title of Ares, along with Achilles and Patroclus, two other competitors who are involved with each other. A strong, solid throuple, Robert gives equal time to all three characters. It was interesting to see how Achilles and Patroclus’s long-standing relationship opened up to involve Helen, and honestly, the sex scenes were beyond hot. I am excited to see where Robert takes the series as a whole.

I was looking forward to this book long before I read the first 5 chapters. Now it's dialed up to 11.

Helen doesn't get much agency in the mythology, poems, or plays. She's a pawn, prize, wife, and mother. When Katee Robert announced the third book would be Helen, Achilles and Patroclus in a throuple, my ears pricked up. Of course it's going to be sexy, but also, Katee is going to give Helen agency and power. AND, I was excited that Helen would not be paired with Menelaus or Paris, neither of whom deserved Helen.

Katee weaves elements of the mythology in to the early part of Wicked Beauty. Helen, daughter of the former Zeus and sister to the current Zeus, is determined to seize her own power. On the death of Ares, there is a competition open to anyone to become the new Ares. Helen plans to compete, as do Achilles and Patroclus. And Paris, and Theseus and The Minotaur. No one is expecting Helen to be much competition. I can't wait to see how both the competition and the possible alliance with Achilles and Patroclus plays out. Seriously bouncing on my toes here.

OH HECK YES. I am already so invested in this! Anyone who read Katee Robert's Island of Y series knows she writes a KILLER tournament book. Neon Gods and Electric Idol were fantastic but I can already tell this book is going to top them. I can't wait!!!

This preview was phenomenal and such a tease into the book! I'm so excited to learn more about Patroclus and Achilles relationship and Helen's soon-to-be involvement in it. I can tell this is going to be a super steamy installment in the series and Katee Robert always delivers in fun sex-positive ways that delight, educate, and enthrall her readers. I can't wait for Wicked Beauty to be fully released so that I can read the book in its entirety.

I'm immediately so in love with Helen, Achilles, and Patroclus. The tension between the three of them in just the first few chapters is so good, and I cannot wait for more. I also adored the brief conversation Helen had with Hera. I'm really excited to see more of her interactions with the thirteen over the next few books.

I just completed reading Electric Idol and was on a bit of a book hangover. I logged into NetGalley and was very lucky to get a preview of this book! I could not contain my excitement so I dropped everything to read the first couple of chapters and loved them. I am eagerly awaiting the release of this book even more now that I have gotten a taste.

If this is just a taste of what’s to come June is too far for me for the release of Wicked Beauty. All three main characters of Helen Achilles and Patroclus already intrigue me. From the short preview you see that Helen has always wanted to become Aries in order to finally have freedom and when she becomes a prize that doesn’t stop her from wanting to become the winner of the competition to be Aries. Achilles and Patroclus have a plan so that Achilles will win the competition and they knew that Achilles might have to marry someone if he becomes Aries but they had no idea that the prize Helen would enter the competition as well. You can already see that both Helen and Achilles are going to want Patroclus. I’m intrigued to see how this plays out .

The universe that Katee Robert has created with this series is incredibly interesting and when I heard the premise of this book, I was super excited. Reading these chapters has made me look forward to the release even more. The format was a little wonky on my kindle, but I’m sure it’ll get worked out for the final release.

This was such a great preview! This little tease already has me on the edge of my seat waiting for the rest. Roberts does such a great job of introducing the major players of each book and what trouble they’re finding themselves in without it feeling like an overload. Helen already seems amazing and I cannot wait to get to read the rest of the story whether it’s through an ARC or my own preorder. Thank you Sourcebooks and NetGalley for this sneak peek!

Wicked Beauty is the third book in Katee Robert’s Dark Olympus series. This book is a modern retelling of Helen of Troy, Achilles, and Patroclus in a menage/ MMF trope. In Olympus, you are either powerful enough to rule as one of the Thirteen, or you are ruled by them. Achilles Kallis was born from nothing, however, he vowed that he would work his way up and gain the power to be part of Olympus’ inner circle. A role has opened for anyone with the strength to claim it and Achilles and his partner, Patroclus Fotos, compete in hopes of doubling their odds of winning the spot. Neither expects part of the prize to be Helen Kasios’ hand in marriage. Helen has other plans, however, there are those who would rather see her dead than lead the city. This leaves Helen finding that the only people she can trust are Achilles and Patroclus who are also two people she can’t keep her hands off of.

I received the Preview ARC from Netgalley and I loved every moment of it! I love Achilles and Patroclus and I just know this trio is going to be a hot story. From the first few chapters that were shared in the preview, I’m already in love with the plot and characters and I can’t wait to read more about Helen, Achilles, and Patroclus!

I love this little preview!! Helen already seems like an amazing character and I am excited to see how Robert unravels the characters. I also got a preview of the steam and I can only imagine how this one is going to go and I am thrilled. This was the perfect little appetizer and I can't wait to read the whole thing. The Helen, Achilles and Patroclus vibes are going to be incredible and I love this series so much.

The way I read this as soon as I downloaded it. Thank you to Netgalley (and the publisher). I loved this and I cannot wait to get my hands on the full book. I need the book right this second honestly.

When I get a full ARC/when I buy the book, there will be a more detailed review about the characters and plot. I cannot wait to read more of Helen, Achilles and Patroclus

Thank you NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for an extended preview of this book in exchange for an honest review! To be honest, I’ve already read an arc of this book, but jumped on the chance to review it on here as well because of how much I loved it. I strongly believe that this is the strongest book in the Dark Olympus series so far and I really enjoyed it. One of my favorite aspects has always been the world-building and that was really present in this book. The world was so unique and I enjoyed the plot and tournament to become the next Ares. It was nice learning more about Helen and seeing her fight for her own future instead of blindly listening to her family in the quest for more power.

The romance in this book was also wonderful and it was sweet learning more about Achilles and Patroclus along with their new relationship with Helen. And, as always, the spice was amazing!

This book really exceeded my expectations and I highly recommend it for romance fans and fans of Katee Robert’s previous works. Be sure to check out this preview to see if you think you will enjoy it and then the book when it’s released!
