I really, really wanted to love this book. The synopsis sounded cute (yes I actually read it for once…and then forgot about it by the time I started reading the book, it’s fine). The cover is adorable. And I’m really feeling my romcoms lately! But I don’t know. There were a lot of things missing from this one for me.

I found that a lot of the writing confused me. There were long, awkwardly written sentences, I often couldn’t tell who was speaking, that sort of thing.

I also couldn’t connect to the characters. Alex and Will were just kind of…there. I didn’t feel that magic between them and I felt they spent most of the book not speaking their minds with each other (honestly, the miscommunication trope just makes me mad). When their big romantic moment came, I didn’t care that much. Actually, I had a lot more interest in the secondary characters and I thought they were well written! I loved Lexi, Alex’s eccentric grandma. I also really liked Jane, Alex’s outspoken best friend. So not caring about the main characters really took away from the story for me.

Oh, and the ending did not really feel like an ending to me. It was aaaalmost there, but I needed more and got nothing. No closure. This girl needs to see those glimpses of the future to know how it all turns out.

I suggest you still read the synopsis and give it a try if it sounds interesting! I find that romcoms can go so many ways for each individual reader. My experience wasn’t the best with this book, but you might love it!

This was book was centered around Alex and her journey to self discovery, self love & self worth. She is a bad ass & fierce divorce attorney who hasn’t had the best of luck in relationships. She has no interest in getting married but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t want or deserve to fall in love. After seeing her ex’s new fiancée on tv looking for her perfect wedding dress, on Say Yes To The Dress, she gets a spark of curiosity to find out why is it that all her exes get married or get in serious relationships after her. Alex then goes on a journey with her friends to figure out where she went wrong in her past relationships. Her childhood crush Will, tags along on her journey for support. In the process of meeting with her exes she discovers that what she was looking for was there the entire time. Aside from a second chance at love, she rediscovers her self & has amazing self growth & development. The chemistry was on point & the steamy open door romance was absolutely delicious. I really enjoyed this one & definitely recommend!!

This was a fun concept and quick read. I enjoyed following along Andie’s journey reconnecting with her exes and Andie’s grandmother was funny and entertaining. Unfortunately, the book overall fell flat. It was a slow burn romance between Andie and Will that was a little too long. Honestly, I felt like Andie didn’t even like Will. Will was the one with all the feelings and was a sweetie. Andie was a strong and independent woman, but was guarded and didn’t let her emotions show until the very, very end.

THANK YOU, NEXT follows Alex, a divorce attorney with a string of failed relationships. She’s not interested in marriage, but finding out that her ex got engaged not all that long after their split, it does start her wondering where all of her relationships have gone wrong. She sets out on a quest to find out by revisiting the men from her past.

Will is the man who was very briefly the step-son of her marriage happy grandmother, a man who once rejected her. There’s always been something under the surface between them and his continued relationship with her grandmother keeps him involved in her life. Her quest to revisit her exes has him jealous and getting involved along the way.

This was a fun and quick read. I will say that it relies quite a lot on miscommunication that keeps Alex and Will on different pages quite frequently. This isn’t a trope that I tend to enjoy, but I did like seeing the improvement in their communication skills over the course of the book. There is a large cast of supporting characters which added diversity as well!

In addition to the great story concept and title, I really loved the characters, especially Will, who comes back into Alex's life during her quest, and her spirited much-married grandmother, Lexi. A fun read for fans of romantic second chances.

Andie J. Christopher’s Thank You, Next is a creative and engaging second chance romance. I was completely invested in Alex and Will’s HEA and the meandering route they took to get there.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫

When Alex sees the last guy she dated on a wedding reality show, she wonders why every guy she’s dated goes on to marry to the next woman he dates afterwards. She has no interest in marriage, for a variety of reasons, but it still stings. Alex and Will have known each other since Alex’s grandmother Lexi was married to Will’s dad for a hot minute. Will still dotes on Lexi, and while he’s always been attracted to Alex, he blew his chance with her long ago.

Both Alex and Will are strong people who want to be as self sufficient as possible, which makes it tough for them to communicate and ask for help when they need it. Their story is a slow burn, but once things heat up, look out.

I warmed up to Alex quickly, and got as defensive as Will when her exes called her out in her distant behavior. While she comes off as cold to people around her, Christopher does a great job showing why Alex is so protective of her own feelings. Of course, the other highlight to this story is Lexi. She is a hoot, and steals every scene. I also adored Alex’s friends Jane and Lana, who give her tough love when she needs it.

Thank You, Next is a second chance romance with a different twist. While Alex is tough to get close to, it’s worth it to watch her slowly lower her emotional walls with the adorable Will.

Thank You, Next is the latest novel by @authorandiej and it’s about a single divorce attorney, Alex, who is a little discouraged with love after seeing so many couples break up through her job. Her grandmother Lexi had been married many times and she doesn’t really have a good example of a successful marriage.

She’s drinking wine and watching her guilty pleasure show, Say Yes to the Dress when she’s seen her most recent ex on the show with his new fiancée! She’s not heartbroken over the man, but she discovers that many of her ex boyfriends have immediately gone on to meet their wives right after breaking up with Alex. She decides to ask all of her exs what happened so that she can see where she keeps going wrong.

Along the way, she keeps running into Will Harkness, who is a former family member! Will’s father was one of Lexi’s husbands, and after they get divorced, Will stays close to Lexi. Alex and Will both have crushes on each other, but no one wants to admit it. Will helps her with her journey with her exs on the condition that she helps him with his ex wife for the same reasons.

This was a cute novel and Will and Alex reminded me a little of Cher and Josh in Clueless. It was very funny at times; there’s one scene where Alex had dental work done and I was absolutely cracking. I loved all the food references with Will’s chef job. Alex was a boss at her job and I appreciate that she was so ambitious.

Alex doesn't understand it. She has had one relationship after another crash and burn and then watched one ex after another almost immediately find true love after. She's a smart woman, a divorce attorney, with a good (and diverse) group of friends. So when she decides to find out what's wrong with her, they all help. Including Will. Will was her first crush but he's also her grandmother Lexi's ex step son (a little creepy but ok). He's also had a crush on Alex for years. Can they find their way to each other? Lexi has some pungent and funny commentary on the whole thing. Thanks to netgalley for the ARC. A light fun read.

DNF at 55%. I wasn't engaged with the characters and didn't feel their chemistry. The writing felt very messy as well and was even difficult to understand at times. However, the premise was really fun and I enjoyed the secondary characters as well including her friends and of course the sassy grandma. Unfortunately, not the book for me. One of the things I like about Andie J. Christopher is that her characters are always realistically flawed. In this novel, badass divorce attorney Alex Turner, who has avoided long-term relationships because of her job and the fact that her parents' marriage was completely terrible and her beloved (and famous) grandmother has gone through husbands like handbags, is watching Say Yes to the Dress when she sees her most recent boyfriend's new fiance on the show buying a wedding dress. She freaks out because, even though she didn't want to marry him, she thought he also didn't want to get married at all... and he's just the most recent in a string of her exes who have married or otherwise long-term committed to the next person they dated after her. She wants to figure out what it is about her that makes these dudes want to tie the knot to their next partner, so she decides to go and talk to a handful of her exes to find out what the deal is. She's joined by her two best friends and, after a weird series of events, by Will Harkness, her nemesis since her teenaged years. His father was briefly married to her grandmother, and teenaged Alex had a huge crush on Will, who rejected her pretty intensely, and they've been enemies since. The romance part of this is pretty predictable (which is fine - that's part of why I read romance), but the whole journey, with Alex's conversations with her exes, was definitely interesting. All of the guys seem like they're definitely not good enough for her, but they all turn it around on her in a way that seemed like an interesting commentary on insecure men. Just overall, I can't get enough Andie J. Christopher and her multi-dimensional characters.

I completely loved this book. Strong voice, strong character development. The hero and heroine had chemistry but were afraid to acknowledge their feelings, due to their long-standing relationship. This novel did a great job of showing how a heroine can be tough on the outside but warm and squishy on the inside. Don't miss it!

Alex had a high school crush on him, but now, no way, his presence annoys her. They see each other at family functions but keep their distance.

Alex and her friends paint the town red in L.A. as they meet up with her ex-boyfriends and Will goes too, as her undercover protector. Will still harbors feelings for Alex. Alex finds out the hard way, as each guy gives his synopsis of what went wrong. Will gives her necessary support, an arm to lean on, when the truth finally hits her. She might hate Will, but his undeniable devotion rattles her. Might she be falling for her childhood friend?

THANK YOU, NEXT is a humorous and honest tale of the quest to find true love. Clearly, Alex and Will are made for each other, but it takes a lot of soul searching to reveal the truth. Alex is one tough gal with a streak of stubborn independence. She reveals relationship truths the hard way by canvasing all her old exes. Will is along for the ride. Alex and Will rub each other the wrong way but as built-up walls come down, romance trickles in. Do they ever realize that the undeniable passion between them is real? The author expertly weaves a tale full of insecurities, stubbornness, respect and love as Will and Alex travel to and fro unplugging old relationships and rediscovering who they are along the way. A beautiful, witty story that's lusty, provocative and funny in spades. THANK YOU, NEXT is smartly sexy.

Thank You, Next is one woman’s journey to determine why all her boyfriends decided she was “not the one.” Alex needs to take a deep hard look into her past to determine why she is not capable of loving another person. While her journey enables her to confront a few of her past boyfriends, the one man she never hooked up with is the one who understands her the best.

While it is difficult for Alex to hear what everyone has to say, she is open to change and hopefully she will not fall back into her old ways when it comes to true love. While I commend Alex for wanting to change her ways, the story was a bit too long. Just when I thought all was going well, all that Alex has learned about why she reacts as she does go out the window.

Second chance romances are always a good bet, this one just took a bit longer to get there. Her grandmother, Lexi, offers the perfect amount of comic relief and I really enjoyed her character.

I paired the eArc with the audio version. I was having trouble staying engaged and would have to re-read every few pages. The narrators did a wonderful job with all the characters. I have found I enjoy a book more while listening as the nuisances of the narrator's voice tended to make the book come alive.

I'm a bit torn on this one. I liked the premise of a woman reaching out to her exes to understand why they moved into a committed relationship directly after the loose one with her. Alex is a woman who doesn't want a marriage or children. She's clearly got some emotional connection issues, and we are set up for a journey of self-discovery.

The pacing of this one was an issue for me. I was interested at the beginning, and the middle, and the end. BUT, it kept slowing down and going into these inner thoughts and self-conversations, and I just kept losing interest.

I think that the author's writing style wasn't for me. I found that there were so many spots in the story where I had to go back and read again. I was confused about what was happening or who she was speaking to. I felt like the author was trying to add really sharp, funny moments, but they didn't execute properly for me, and I just got confused.

Overall, this one was a middle of the road read for me. I wanted to know what happened in the story, but I struggled to stay interested. I think that some rom-com readers will really enjoy this, they just need to connect with the author's writing style.

I was genuinely excited that Andie J. Christopher was releasing a new book. She always writes cute rom-com books. And it’s no different with Thank You, Next.

Thank You, Next will bring Alex Turner to questioning about her dating life as she watches her former ex marry someone else after being non-commitment to her. That makes anyone question their dating life. And Alex is up to the challenge as she revisits her former exes with her ride-and-die BFFs and grumpy childhood rival, Will.

Will doesn't understand the need for Alex to revisit her exs since they were the problem, not her. And it’s very sweet of him to say that because there was nothing wrong with her. She just won’t settle for crumbles. She has expectations. And if you are more than willing to gain her trust, then she will let you in. That’s something Will knows already. And I think that's something Alex will realize as well when she keeps seeing all of her former exes.

I like Alex and Will's relationship. They have always been rivals to each other when they were teenagers. And it does not change as they grow up. It gives them witty banter as they spend more time with each other. That’s how their rivalry between each other becomes something more.

2.75 stars, plus another .25 for the delightfully wild grandmother, Lexi. — I didn't know what to expect going into Thank You, Next, as it's my first Andie J. Christopher book, but it left me with mixed feelings. There are some real bright spots here — the wacky premise, the leads, their friends, GRANDMA LEXI, MY LOVE — but the material doesn't quite rise about some messy writing. But I think every book needs at least one more draft, so what do I know? Even if it's not perfect, it's fun, and sometimes that's enough for a lazy weekend read.

When marriage-averse Alex realizes she's always the last stop before her boyfriends seriously commit to someone else, she sets out to learn why. And to her bewilderment, her teenage crush turned frenemy, Will, invites himself along, resulting in a whole lot of messy feelings coming to the surface. Soon enough, Andie's question changes from "What did I do?" to "Will it be different this time?"

Alex's hangups and struggles with letting people get close were very relatable to me, and I felt for her every time she realized her protective armor kept her exes from seeing her as a human, too, capable of her own feelings and insecurities. The reason she and Will worked, despite their many years of issues, was that he was the one who saw her, and I was rooting for them almost from the start. However, the book feels like it's still in draft phase, with a lot of repetition and inconsistencies that hold it back from being as good as it could have been. If you're willing to overlook that, however, it's a fun, easy read.

Thank You, Next by Andie J. Christopher is an emotional look at one woman’s desire to find out more about herself by visiting her ex-boyfriends. I enjoyed this light and a somewhat steamy book about finding your strength.

Alex Turner is a single divorce attorney. Her life and her job have made her a bit cynical about marriage and she knows she’ll never marry. But, when she watches a reality tv show about wedding dresses, she sees her ex-boyfriend's new fiance saying “yes to the dress” and she starts to wonder why her ex-boyfriends always seem to find “the one” right after they break up with her.

She runs into her nemesis from High School, Will Harkness who is almost family, but not quite. Will and Alex don’t get along at all and share a healthy dislike for each other and normally they don’t spend any time together. But when Alex decides to go and interview all her old boyfriends, he wants to tag along. Will is an up-and-coming chef, and it’s clear that his dislike for Alex, is turning to like and a whole lot more.

I loved Lexi, Alex’s grandmother, she really added some warmth and humor to the story. She’s a talented, intelligent, and powerful woman, and it’s clear that Alex inherited these traits from her.

The romance between Alex and Will was realistic and steamy. They had a strong attraction, but it took a while for them to figure out it was more than just a physical attraction. But the real story is Alex’s journey to learning more about herself and how her past is dictating the way she interacts with men.

I recommend Thank You, Next to anyone who enjoys romance. I received a complimentary copy of this book. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

This author and I just haven't connected in attempts at a third title.

Alex is surprised and shocked that every man she's had a relationship with has gotten married right after ending things with her.

She attempts to understand why by visiting each. In the meantime, she interacts with Will, who has been in her life for years and at one time rejected her advances.

At about 25%, I just gave up. I was entertained by Alex's grandmother.

Alex, a successful divorce lawyer, has just discovered that her exes all married the next person they dated after her. Sending her emotions into a tailspin, she decides to question her exes about dating her and why they married the next person they dated. Will, a chef and family friend, has always loved Alex but hides it out of loyalty to his ex step mom….Alex’s grandmother. When he finds out what Alex is up to with her exes, he decides to tag along to make sure she is safe. While Alex is learning more about herself and why her relationships fail….will her first real love win her over?

This was a fun, solid, quick read. The main characters, Alex and Will, were very real and likable. I feel like there is a hallmark movie similar to this storyline and if there isn’t….there should be. Some of the exes that Alex visits were truly horrid and you want to just bathe after being around their ickiness. Others were decent people that she just didn’t mesh well with. Her relationships with friends and family were so real. Parts of the book I felt like I was there in the mix. Having parts of the book from Will’s perspective was nice too.

I've enjoyed the other rom-coms I've read by this author, so I was excited to see a new one by her. This was a fun childhood crush-to-lovers romance between divorce attorney Alex and chef Will. There are obstacles on their way to love, such as Alex's quest to find out why each of her exes marries the next woman after they breakup and a childhood kiss gone wrong between Alex and Will. I really enjoyed Alex's grandmother Lexi and her meddling ways! This is a fun summer read!
