okay the way I was sold so fast by this title because I mean hello? very iconic! one of the reasons why this book immediately caught my attention.

loved the concept but I think it fell a little short for me at the end. the storyline is totally what kept me but I didn't really find myself being invested with the main characters but I did enjoy the side characters more!

alex comes to learn that ALL of her exes have gotten married to the person they dated after her and whelp... yeah it's not easy for her to process.

this book might not have been for me but I know other people are going to eat this up and rightfully so! will read something else this author writes!

This book was good, but it wasn't my favorite. I didn't really connect with the characters how i wanted to. However, this book might be a favorite for someone else. It was entertaining and i think it would be a fun beach read!

I was really looking forward to this 2022 release, and I'm sorry to say it fell short of my expectations. Did I like it? Yes, I did like this book fine. Did I love it? No, not really, which is why I'm disappointed. I was really interested in the dissection of an emotionally unavailable woman and what she felt like her past mistakes were, and that storyline really resonated with me. I was intrigued by the storyline, but I found myself getting bored in places and wanting to reach for other books. This book has a lot of internal debate, monologues, and dissection, which it turns out, was not as much fun to read as I thought it would be.

I can see where this book will appeal to a reader who enjoys that type of writing, though, and that is what ultimately led me to rate it three stars. I see the value in this story; it just wasn't a book that I will likely buy or read again.

Alex is a successful divorce attorney who is beautiful and strong and while she dates plenty she is confident she doesn’t want to get married. So when she turns on Say Yes to the Dress and sees her ex and his new fiancé picking out her wedding dress she tried to figure out what has happened in all her past relationships that has caused them to go on a get married right after ending things with her.

Alongside her friends she gets helps from an unlikely source in her childhood love that rejected her when they were teens. The more they spend time together the more we see that maybe both Will and Alex have more feelings than they realized for each other.

I loved the dual POV! I think it added a lot to the story and Will is a sweetheart. The tension between these two was great. While the romance is center in this book there is a lot of character development and discovery for Alex that pulls you away from the romance at points. I would be very interested in more information about Jane and her new relationship! Overall this was a cute one if you are wanting a new romance to read.

I loved the premise of this one, and the blurb.

Unfortunately I didn't love the book. I've been trying to come up with a way to put it into words, but really what it comes down to is I was never engaged with the characters.

I found the secondary characters a lot more interesting than Will or Alex and as a result, I just didn't rant care what happened to them.

While I did technically get to the end of this one, I also skipped entire chapters starting at about the 50% mark.

I'm unable to recommend this title.

Thank you, next. Is honestly how I felt after reading this. I just didn't connect with this book unfortunately. I didn't understand why the characters liked each other so much, or why they couldn't take any sort of time to talk in the past about their issues. I do think the visiting of old boyfriends was fun and learning from your mistakes. The side characters were really fun, though the friend's husband's name was Greg or Carl? His name kept changing in the same paragraph which was confusing. I know that will get fixed, but still confusing even in an ARC copy. I also think i wouldn't have known the MC was black from the cover. Obviously its stated right away, but the cover didn't come off that way and I think it should be more obvious.

I loved the premise of this book, so I was really excited to give it a go. This "Good Luck Chuck" feels romcom had so much potential, but parts of it felt really flat for me. In each instance when the MC has the chance to reconnect with an ex, I felt that the encounters were cringey rather than funny. I also felt the ending was super rushed, and I didn't find there was enough tension to fill the "enemies to lovers" trope.

With that said, the romance and steam aspects of this book were A1 and worth price of admission alone. Overall, a really quick and fun read - but there are some aspects of it I would have liked fleshed out more!

Thank You, Next is a great enemies-to-lovers story, or rather two people who thought they couldn't stand each other, only to discover it's quite the opposite. It was an easy read and flowed well. I enjoyed the characters and found them relatable. I also really liked that the book also featured non-binary and LGBTQ characters.

The ending felt very rushed to me. I wanted more. I wanted an epilogue featuring one year later. I wanted to know what happened to the characters next. Instead, it just ended. Granted, the setting was where they first met as teens, which was nice, but I felt it was too abrupt. I read the last line and the next page was the acknowledgments. Other than that, I did like the story. Lots of steam too!

3.75/5 stars - simply because of the ending.

Thank You, Next is an enemies-to-lovers tale where Alex and Will have known each other since childhood. His dad briefly married her grandmother, and while Alex was crushing hard in high school, she is definitely, for sure, no way still crushing on him now. After realizing that every guy she dates ends up marrying the next girl, she sets out to find out why. To a degree she comes across as a little self-centered with little self-awareness, but knowing her backstory helps illuminate why she is the way she is.

Will is a fascinating foil to Alex and I'm glad that we got alternating perspectives from each of them as we moved through the plot, as otherwise I may have found him overbearing and not understood his behavior. Christopher built in a few great side characters that I would have loved to see more of; perhaps a spin off or two could be in the works? I definitely know that I would be interested in investing more time with them. The pacing felt slow at the start of the book, but the latter half really flies!

Thank You, Next is a cute romance book! I enjoyed how emotionally unavailable our heroine portrayed herself to be because this is something we normally see with the heroes in romance novels. So I truly found this to be a breath of fresh air and unique!

Thank You, Next is a second chance rom com perfect for fans of Set On You by Amy Lea, Count Your Lucky Stars by Alexandria Bellefleur, People We Meet On Vacation by Emily Henry, The Singles Table by Sara Desai, and Mr. Wrong Number by Lynn Painter. Thank You, Next deals with topics like biological and found family, absentee parents, relationships and divorce, love and heartbreak, trust, and difficulty moving on from the past. In my opinion, like the message in Ariana Grande’s song “Thank U, Next”, the moral of Thank You, Next is that everything happens for a reason and the end of a romantic relationship isn’t necessarily a “failure”; furthermore, you should appreciate how you’ve positively grown as a person because of your past romantic relationships.

Overall, Thank You, Next was a good read but I felt like it didn’t live up to my high expectations; I was really excited about this book because of the colourful cover, fun title, and funny description but I was disappointed that the plot wasn’t super engaging. Furthermore, I was expecting lots of hilarious shenanigans with Alex’s exes but instead, I found that Alex’s visits with her exes were awkward and embarrassing (there’s even a visit involving a painful cavity filling and visit with a cringe-worthy, impromptu comedy roast). Next, I know that they weren’t biologically related, but I found it disturbing that the main love interests were (temporarily) related by marriage (Will’s father was married to Alex’s grandmother – which means that Will was Alex’s step-uncle). I also found it odd that there was so much divorce in this story, and I felt like all the talk of divorce kind of took away from the romance; almost all the main characters had been divorced (including one of the love interests) and Alex was a divorce lawyer who had a negative view of marriage.

On the plus side, I loved the unique and laughable concept of this book (reaching out to your exes in an attempt to figure out what went wrong). I also thought that Alex and Will were very cute together (even though I felt that it was awkward that they were related by marriage); I especially loved the tender and romantic moments that Alex and Will shared after an earthquake. Lastly, I appreciated that Thank You, Next was fairly short and sweet; the story was pretty to the point without a lot of unneeded fluff that didn’t move the plot forward.

Despite being different than what I expected, I still enjoyed Thank You, Next and would recommend it to readers who enjoy unique rom coms with lots of ex-boyfriend drama!

So this was a fun read, and I have to say I wanted to pick it up because of the title. You can't read that without singing it, you know? I love things like that.

I will say that the romance fell a little flat for me and it might be the premise of the book. I love the idea of a woman using her exes for some self discovery, but idk the execution of this was a little weird for me. I felt as if the two characters were trying to change themselves instead of accepting who they are. It felt a little forced. Alex was not lovable in my opinion and honestly I found myself skimming a little here and there due to lack of dialogue.

Will though, I did appreciate and adore him. Even though he also was trying to change himself. Idk, I am not a fan of people trying to form themselves to someone else, because people are all different, you know? You don't become someone else for someone else. You let them see who you are and accept you as such.

Idk, I have mixed feelings about this book. Would still read something else by this author tho!

Alex has always been bad at love and never believed in marriage. When she sees her ex’s new fiancé on Say Yes To The Dress, she realizes that every time she breaks up with someone, they marry the next person they date. Alex is determined to figure out why this is, so she decides to go back to those ex’s to find out what went wrong. When Will learns of her plan, he decides to tag along….it has nothing to do with the feeling she has for her though, he just wants to look out for her.

This one was just ok for me. I will give the caveat that I was reading this while traveling for work and getting max 4 hours of sleep a night and working shifts at our plant, so it not only took me longer to read than normal, I was also exhausted while reading. So this might have been a timing issue. I enjoyed the characters and their hate to love plus sexual tension. I also loved the idea of Alex going back to her ex’s to find out what went wrong. I don’t know though, it just fell a bit short for me overall.

This one had so much potential for me, I loved the idea of an emotionally unavailable woman trying to figure out where she went wrong in past relationships. I really liked that she would be looking some of her exes up to get answers and thought it was a fun and interesting idea. Unfortunately as much as I wanted to enjoy this one it just didn’t work out that way for me in the end. Things started out ok but as it progressed I started to get bored and lost interest. There was a lot of introspection and inner monologues and not enough dialogue and conversations to keep me invested. I also didn’t love Alex which is always tough and the fact that by halfway I was forcing myself to pick it back up should’ve been a sign for me to just set it aside and move on. I think maybe this author just isn’t for me, something about her style just doesn’t end up working out for me but I know she has lots of fans and am sure many will enjoy this more than I did!

I was not the biggest fan of the characters in this. I found Alex and Will to be both incredibly
frustrating. They are both very poor communicators and that leads to a big of a rocky start for their relationship - and for most of their interaction to be honest. I didn't feel their chemistry or their backstory even though they are supposed to have known each other for years. And I really struggled with Alex's motivations for seeking out her ex boyfriends, it just didn't seem to make sense for her character. Overall, it was a bit of a letdown.

In Andie J. Christopher's latest book, Thank You, Next, a jaded divorce attorney is always the assist. As in she's the relationship before her exes get married, like, every time. She decides to find all of her exes and find out what she's doing wrong, but when her ex-step-uncle (it's less weird than it sounds) tags along everything changes for the hotter.

Overall a fine, fun, read.

Alex is a strong woman, who needs no man and never plans on getting married. That is, until she sees her ex on "That's my Dress", getting married after he told her he never wanted to get married either! She realizes all of her exes have gotten married or found long term relationships right after their break ups. She realizes she needs to ask them why they broke up so she can try to figure out what she is doing wrong.
Will is back in Alex's life after his divorce. He is trying to open a new restaurant alone. He has always had a thing for Alex, but he could never act on it. If it went bad, he could lose the one person that means the most to him. Lexi, Alex's grandma, is the only mother he's ever known and he can't chance letting her down.
When he sees what Alex is doing though, he has to try to make her see its just her choosing the wrong man and it is about feeling comfortable enough to open up.
I really enjoyed this second chance at love between WIll and Alex. I think both of them harboured feelings for so long that they didn't even know what to do with them. Will was still scared of losing Lexi, but after Lexi pushing him towards Alex, he knew what he had to do. He had to follow his heart and Alex had to follow hers. There were bumps along the way, but a relationship can be so much more when you fully trust your partner and these two proved that.

This book was sadly not for me. I liked the concept of someone going back to revisit their old relationships to see what went wrong and why every one of them got married immediately after. However, sadly I didn't enjoy any of the characters and that made it really hard for me to root for them.

The main love interest, Will, I found slightly creepy and too jealous in his actions and I didn't feel like they were two people who were secretly in love for years. While Alex was hearing about all the things that she did wrong in her past relationships I didn't feel like like she took any of it seriously or did anything to change her life.

I wish I liked this book more, but I just didn't connect with it.

Well, I am sad to say I probably could have stopped reading this at the halfway mark and not been sad about it picking it back up.

I am not sure what it was, but it just didn’t work for me. I did not like Alex very much. I liked her journey to discover why her ex boyfriends moved onto marriage after her. But I feel like she could (should) have had a heart to heart with her friends and she could have saved time.

And I didn’t quite understand why Alex and Will were so hung up on each other/disliked each other so much at the beginning. I am just not sure I bought into their relationship arc.

There were some small writing things that didn’t work for me either. I was just confused in some places and that took me out of the story/had me skimming.

Basically, this one was just meh for me unfortunately.

We have to like ourselves, and even love ourselves, before we can truly give love to someone else. Sometimes realizing that and doing the work can be tough.

Alex finds this out the hard way while we are along for the ride. Self-discovery is tough and doing the work can be a tough cookie to take on, especially when it also includes someone you love to hate.

Will is a sweetheart and honestly the best part of this story for me. He is kind-hearted, giving, and loves to take care of Alex when she lets him. He protects her and stands by her as she goes through the mental clarity she needs to work through to finally admit the truth about Will and find her true self.

Thank You, Next is a fresh and relatable romantic journey. The characters are beautifully developed. I especially love Lexi. She is a trip. The second chance romance is worth the wait but I wish we got more of the future and a bit less of their history.

Overall a delightful read!
