I enjoyed this book and couldn't put it down. A must read for those who have men in their lives going through a middle phase in their lives and not quite understanding their point of view. Touching on depression and separation, this on hits differently.

I enjoyed the nature aspect of it and enjoyed the character arcs. I will be adding Joe Regenbogen to my list of authors to read more of in 2022.

Thank you to NetGalley, Sunbury Press, Inc. andMilford House Press for this ARC. All opinions are my own.

This book was sent to me electronically for review by Netgalley. It is a story woven in sections by this author...one to remember. Family dynamics...friendship...love and remorse...new friends...old friend...children...teaching high school children...careers...all of these themes are in this book. I could not put it down. It is not just a man's book...it is a book for everyone especially those needing to look at their lives and begin again...second chances...it read like nonfiction, at times, and at other times, like the fiction it is. I can't wait to read other books by this author. Although the putting off of certain stories was quite off putting (no pun intended) at times, I stayed with the book until the end. I don't like surprises per se...if characters are discussing an issue, it needs to be attended to at that point in the book.
