Very helpful book for everyone starting on NetGalley! Thank you for the resource!
I found it especially helpful to read the tips for goodreads, writing reviews, and bookstagramming.

This was surprisingly helpful. Great tips and info! Definitely worth a look.
Will go back and reference again for sure.

NetGalley's Book Advocate Toolkit: A Gem for New and Seasoned Reviewers
Overall Impression: NetGalley's Book Advocate Toolkit is a fantastic resource for anyone who wants to get the most out of their NetGalley experience, be they a bookish newbie or a seasoned reviewer.
What I Loved:
Clear and Concise: The toolkit is well-organized and easy to navigate. It breaks down information into manageable sections, making it a breeze to find what you're looking for.
Beginner-Friendly: For those new to NetGalley, the guide offers a clear walkthrough of setting up your profile, requesting ARCs, and understanding member types.
Advanced Tips: Even experienced reviewers will find valuable nuggets of wisdom. The toolkit delves into crafting strong reviews (including tackling those tricky critiques) and maximizing your reach with social media strategies.
Engaging Format: The use of visuals and quick tips keeps the information accessible and interesting.
Areas for Improvement:
While the toolkit covers a lot of ground, it could delve deeper into specific social media platforms and best practices for each.
It might be helpful to include a section on NetGalley etiquette, such as deadlines and communication with publishers.
Recommendation:
This toolkit is a goldmine of information for anyone interested in becoming a NetGalley book advocate. Whether you're eager to dive into the world of ARCs or refine your reviewing skills, this guide equips you with the tools you need to succeed. Highly recommend!

This is such a helpful guide. Thank you so much for putting this together for content creators to reference!

This was helpful getting me over my imposter syndrome with writing my first review. I do think that an updated version would be helpful since the social media landscape is ever changing. Overall it’s a good starting point!

This was very helpful, thank you! I appreciate everyone who works on these materials for us. Being a reader on NetGalley is such a great opportunity for book lovers!

I wish I would have had this at the very beginning of my bookstagram. It’s a helpful, concise overview of the do’s and dont’s of book reviewing. I went the way of trial by fire, which ended with a bookstagram I enjoy and am proud of - but was fraught with frustration. Thank you NetGalley for an easy to use tool for book reviewers.

I thought this was a really good overview for a new bookish influencer. It showed the different platforms most people are on (though I feel like Discord is still ignored too much by publishers and other professionals; there are so many authors and readers on discord) and a good start for content to create. Tips on review writing and etiquette were good too. I also liked the feature on accessibility and the reminder to be careful with your personal information while getting involved in bookish communities. It wasn’t something I was expecting.
“Avoid the request spree.” — Way to call me out, NetGalley! I kid, I kid. Mostly. I definitely used to do this at first and now have some catching up to do so if you’re new to this, I would take that advice seriously. I love all the books I’ve been approved for and WILL review them all, no matter how old, but it can get pretty overwhelming sometimes so limiting yourself to a few ARCs at a time only is very good advice.

This is very helpful in learning how to use NetGalley! I am excited to read and review more books on NetGalley.

A pretty concise and handy resource for both beginners and intermediate end users. In this cases, the material is specifically addressing book reviewers, but the material presented is good information and strategy for anyone in online social/influencer/creator type spaces. The presentation makes it simple and easy to digest, but also easy to call back on and refresh. Well thought out and put together.

This is a really great tool that I wish I had found earlier. The layout is perfect, it allowed me to see some areas that I can improve on with my profile and book reviews.

This is a really helpful tool for anyone wanting to learn how to provide the best possible reviews. I love the attention to detail. It delivers exactly what it says it does and should be read by anyone new to NetGalley. Thank you so much for providing us with this helpful and invaluable tool!

The Book Advocate's Toolkit does exactly what it promises-- gives basic tips and tricks for reviewing books on a variety of platforms!r I really appreciated how beautifully the toolkit was designed. It could have been a simple test list, but the graphics, images, and examples made reading this not only an educational experience but an enjoyable one.

This was really helpful for me when wondering what to and not to include in reviews!! Thanks to NetGalley for including this toolkit for reviewers!

NetGalley comes through with another tool to help boost your NetGalley experience! After reviewing the Reading Journal, I was curious what else NetGalley had published, and this was a fantastic refresher for using NetGalley, making reviews, and posting reviews to social media. I primarily post on Instagram and GoodReads, but I have been curious about some of the other platforms out there, and this toolkit has me even more curious to try branching out. I loved the tips on how to boost your NetGalley profile as well, and I hope to implement some of the recommendations soon! Thank you for providing this toolkit!

This was a very helpful guide and intro to NetGalley that I think every new user needs to read! I found the sections on "Requesting Books 101" and "Book Review Tips" to be the most helpful to me. I mostly provide written reviews so those sections were most pertinent. I would have liked a few samples of what they consider to be a good vs. bad review, but I know I can probably just read through a few online to get a better sense of what exactly they are looking for. The majority of the guide focused on social media platforms using video and image based material such as Instagram and Tik Tok. As that is not the content I intend to create, I didn't find it particularly useful, but it seemed like a lot of great information for someone who wants to focus on those platforms. Overall I found this to be a super helpful guide and really think every new user should read it.

This toolkit was so helpful! I am brand new to NetGalley, and pretty new to Bookstagram. There were so many helpful explanations that I will be able to use right away. I also appreciate all of the links to We Are Bookish that will provide even more information. The pages in the Book Advocate Toolkit are organized in an easy-to-read and attention-grabbing way. It was quick to skim through, and then I was able to go back and dive deeper into the topics that I really wanted more information about.
Thank you, NetGalley, for putting this toolkit together!

This book comes in handy when learining about how to leave reviews and using social media to promote your joy of reading and reviewing. I already know I will be coming back the this toolkit to learn how to leave critical reviews and to further my book reviewing journey. I really like that this toolkit is set up in a user friendly way which encourages me to read carefully without getting bored, and the colors throughout are also very eye catching. It is not often that a user manual is fun.
Thank you NetGalley for creating this awesome resource and allowing me to learn from it for free!
Five stars!

I really enjoyed perusing this well-thought-out and attractive toolkit. As a newer reviewer I appreciated suggestions for starting (and fine-tuning) social media accounts with your reviews. The colors and creative ideas were easy to follow and understand. I learned a lot about the do's and don't's of reviewing, ways to promote and set up your own bookish accounts, as well as various tips for increasing your audience and streamlining your schedule to maximize each book's potential. I will be looking back on this often for ideas often.
