This ARC was provided to me via Kindle, Random House Publishing Group- Ballantine and by #NetGalley. Opinions expressed are completely my own.

The writing is always so vivid, you feel as if you’re there. The relationships between characters are so fluid, the tension and drama feels real.

Nancy Thayer always writes enjoyable stories. I always feel like I fall into them!
The descriptions of Nantucket are so vivid - sometimes the stories are a bit fluffy,
But always enjoyable!
Thank you to NetGalley for an advanced copy ! And thank you to Nancy Thayer!

Summer Love by Nancy Thayer,

It was a very real, emotion filled, fun weekend romance read for me.
The characters were so relatable and also were fun to read.
And not only was this story about romance its about finding out who you are along the way.
And Nancy did such a wonderful job with these characters!
Well written and poignant storytelling that pulls you in just the right amount of connection to balance out the drama and tension.
Throughout the story it is the friendships and support characters give to each other that make it a beautiful, heartwarming read.
I loved this one, and started to pace myself towards the ending because I knew it was going to be over soon.
Highly recommend reading Summer Love!

Ariel is the gorgeous aspiring writer coming to Nantucket to be a receptionist at a realtor's office. Sheila is the busty redhead with a fiance back home, arriving to work as a maid in one of the hotels on the island. Wyatt is the scientist standing in the shadows of his father's exciting discovery, on the island to have a change of pace by working with a boat mechanic. And Nick is the social climber and hotelier wannabe, in Nantucket to see and be seen, and make as many connections as possible while working at a fancy men's boutique. Francine is the rich French daughter of one of Nick's heroes in the hotel world, who winds up becoming an honorary member of the group. All but Francine rent rooms in the basement of a knocked down hotel, and they go from strangers to friends, and even lovers, during a summer they'll never forget on the beautiful island. This story flips between their summer of fun in 1995, and their reunion twenty-five years later.

The writing style is nice enough. I did find myself getting frustrated, though. Sheila is neurotic and anxious from the start, and Wyatt turns more and more pretentious as the book unfolds. I liked Ariel and Nick, because they at least seem more honest and open in their intentions and their opinions of others. Poor Francine gets the short end of the stick from Sheila and Wyatt, who judge her simply for being rich, and make snide comments about her money and "Frenchness" every chance they seem to get. The storyline was interesting, and Thayer clearly writes what she knows, considering she's a Nantucket resident herself. The island comes alive by way of her words, which I can absolutely appreciate. While this particular book was not really "for me," I know there's certainly people who will enjoy this. I can see this as a nice summer read for those who want a little drama in their beach reads.

I received an Advanced Reader Copy via NetGalley in return for sharing my thoughts on this book. I thank the author and publisher for this opportunity!
