A big thank you to NetGalley for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This is a children' book. This is an unusual but fun book. Who goes to Antarctica to look for a giant penguin? Ira does, she is from Singapore. This is a nicely illustrated, fun adventure. Realistic? Um that would be a big no. Fun yes. Very cute 4 stars I think most small children would enjoy. Now I want to go to Antarctica!
I thought this was a great cute picture book about young Ira who lives in Singapore, but loves adventure and she wanted to travel to Antarctica to see if she can see the Padugudu the Queen of the penguins. When she gets to Antarctica she does not waste time to on a search where people think she might be living in a cave far off.
A simple nice book for kids of all ages. The text is simple, and it is a proper book to read to kids who adore stories about animal and more than that about exotic animals. It can be a start point for a geography discussion and to learn new words and about new places.
What a fun and imaginative journey from Singapore to Antarctica! Told in simple English well suited to ESL readers and colorful but simple illustrations, the story is applicable to dreamers from anywhere in the world. I loved it and am sure that the grands will as well!
I requested and received a free temporary e-book copy via NetGalley. Thank you!
