I knew from reading book one that I was going to love a story focused on Kekoa, and I wasn’t wrong! I think he may be my favorite Natalie Water’s character, although Elinor and her science jokes is pretty awesome too! It was great seeing the whole SNAP gang together, solving cases and stopping bad guys. I could definitely see this as a plot to a crime fighting show

This book has a Hawaiian side to it, which is different from other books I've read. While I didn't know the exact meaning of many of the words used, one can guess at their meanings. This book also brings to light the occupation of a cryptologist. I love puzzles, so this appealed to me also. There are a lot of characters introduced at the beginning, but don't worry about remembering them all. Most of them are not important, and you will remember the important ones as the book develops. I really liked the story. The main character has some highly secret information, but she doesn't realize it. She thinks she just has her grandfather's notebook from his days as a scientist for the government. The SNAP team doesn't believe her at first that she is innocent or aware of what is in her possession. But the story unfolds in a good pace and the characters are likable and well drawn. The ending is well developed and does not quickly come to a conclusion.

Thank you to NetGalley for an ARC for an honest review.

I am absolutely in love with the SNAP AGENCY series and could not wait to get my hands on this newest one. I was not at all disappointed as it is the best one so far. Telling the story of Kekoa, the gentle computer giant from Hawaii, was brilliant as he is a favorite character with a mystery in his past. I have wanted to know more about Kekoa since book one and this book definitely satisfied my thirst for knowledge about his background. In the latest story, Kekoa is tasked with finding out who is selling secrets from a lab and his discovery actually upsets him. His neighbor, the quiet and unassuming Elinor, appears to be the culprit and Kekoa is overwhelmed with dismay because he is attracted to her. I was also dismayed because I liked Elinor a lot and wanted her and Kekoa to get together. There is a lot of technical information in this book that I can’t say that I really understood, about pigpen codes and algorithms that are dangerous to the person with the skill to decode them. The characters were very well-developed, with a lot of information about Kekoa’s roots and family back in Hawaii as well as Elinor’s beloved grandfather who recently died. There were also some really humorous parts like when Kekoa and Elinor went out in the rain and slid down a grassy hill on boogie boards. Cheehoo! The entire regular cast of the Snap Agency is present, with Walsh taking more of a leading role in this book and Lyla and Garcia still teasing a romantic interlude between them. The plot is fast-paced and intense, with the security of the U.S. at stake and the team plus the FBI working together to find out what is happening and why. I must admit that I was fooled all the way until the reveal about who the villains were. One person I did guess, but not the real motive, so there were lots of great revelations for me at the end. I loved Kekoa’s story and look forward to the next Snap Agency book already. This team is like NCIS, only so much smarter and better!

Faith requires trust.

This story had suspense, danger, fun, sweet romance and depth with Kekoa struggling with an event from his past and learning to let go and give it to God.

Ever since I closed the cover on book 1, I was looking forward and excited for Kekoa's story and I was not disappointed. The fun, Hawaiian guy from book one was back, but there was also so much more to him - not only did we see his fun humour again, but we could also see his struggles and regrets. I loved the scene with him and his dad in Maryland, it was such a deep and crucial event for Kekoa.

It wasn't through his own strength that he could let go, it was by leaning into the strength of the One so much bigger than the the hurt and the pain.

Elinor was a great fit to Kekoa and found herself in a mystery without realising she is in it. I liked how the author gave the reader inside information so we could see things before the characters got to that conclusion.

The suspense element was milder than book one, but it grew in intensity as the story developed and there was a few scenes which made me gasp, hold my breath, and scared for the characters.

Now, to get to see what is the story between Lyla and Garcia!

I couldn't wait to read Fatal Code since I enjoyed Lights Out so much. In that book we're introduced to Kekoa and his personality is larger than enough and filled with great humor. So I expected to see that.
What we got was a larger than life guy, but one who also had hidden wounds and insecurity. Couple that with a genius heroine and suspense and intrigue and you had a story that pulled you in.
There was so much to enjoy about this book and I can't wait to see what Natalie Walters has for us in book 3.
Have you read the story? Let me know your thoughts in the comments.

I've been all into this series since the 1st book and this book is no different.
I think the mystery part of the book is my favorite because I enjoyed guessing who done it. Walters has done this so smoothly that I was surprised at the end.
The romance part was good too. It wasn't too cheesy.
I learned quite a bit as I read this story about Elinor and Kekoa.
Kekoa is my favorite character. He's interesting and I loved in getting to know him.
One other thing about this book? The food mentioned in it will definitely make you drool.
I was glued to this story until the very end! I didn't want to put it down that's for sure! I was afraid I'd miss something!
Walters is my go to for suspense/thriller because she does such am amazing job of keeping my heart full and satisfied after a good read.
5 stars! For a job well done.
My thanks for a copy of this book. I was NOT required to write a positive review. All opinions are my own.

I’m in love with Kekoa and Elinor! The author has such an incredible gift for the “whodunit” with romance! I was constantly on my toes wondering what was going to happen next and who was setting up Elinor. And it proved to be way more complicated than I anticipated! So many moving parts, and the science puns resonated so strong with me. This book is for people looking for A mystery but also highlights the modern Hawaiian culture beautifully. I can’t wait for the next one.

Oh, so good!

Natalie Walters has struck reading gold with this series! I loved getting to know the characters in Initium, was thrilled to watch them in action in Lights Out, and now…

We get Kekoa’s story! Cheeehoo indeed! (You’ll have to read the book to understand 😁).

Fatal Code isn’t quite as fast paced as the previous book, and that works in its favor. We get to watch a beloved character develop throughout the story and, if you loved the big guy before—you ain’t seen nothing yet!

While the character development is outstanding, the meat of the story is chilling and suspenseful. Walters creates a “ripped from the headlines” narrative that will hold you captive throughout the book.

This is seriously some of the best suspense I’ve ever read, and I’ve read a lot!

I received an advance copy from the publisher. My review is honest and has not been solicited.

Fatal Code is the second story in the SNAP Agency series by Natalie Walters. I was so excited to hear that Kekoa was getting his own story because I have loved him since the second he appeared on the page!

Kekoa’s story was everything I had hoped it would be. I loved delving into his past and the message of forgiveness and letting go of things we are not meant to carry that came out of it. This story has pops of humor that kept me laughing, a slow build realistic romance (Elinor is perfect for Kekoa!), great team dynamics, and perfect pacing leading up to an action filled end.

I really love this team and their camaraderie, which just gets better with each story. And, after reading Fatal Code, I am seriously needing Garcia and Lyla’s story! I cannot wait.

Fatal Code
By Natalie Walters
Book 2 in the SNAP Agency series
Rating: 4/5

Wow. Who doesn’t love a thrilling adventure with mystery and intrigue and a whole lot of swoon worthy romance?! Natalie Walters delivers another heart-pounding story filled with code breaking and scientific advancements that could change the world forever. Even though this is book two, it can definitely be read as a standalone novel.

First, I love the cover and color scheme.
Second, I loved the characters especially Kekoa. As an Asian American who has visited Hawaii multiple times and almost went to school there, I loved how the author did her best to include Kekoa’s culture and cuisine into the book. She definitely did her research and I was always pleasantly surprised when she mentioned different foods and phrases. She captured his longing for home really well along with his inner turmoil regarding his tragic past. He was both a strong and vulnerable man who was intelligent and compassionate. Elinor was a very sweet character who had more grit than I initially expected. She was smart and capable and I was definitely rooting for her.
Third, the plot was well thought out and moved quickly. There are some faith elements included but it wasn’t too “in your face”.

Highly recommend if you enjoy clean romantic suspense with international spies and code breaking.

My thanks to the author and publisher for providing me with an ARC of the book. All opinions expressed here are entirely my own. No positive review was expected and no compensation received.

Book 2 in the SNAP Agency series brings the character of Kekoa to life. The Hawaiian Navy Cryptologist loves his computers, codes and good food. Kekoa also cares deeply about those around him. So when he sees his next door neighbor, Elinor, about to be run over by a bicycle, he rushes to her aid.

Elinor, distraught over the death of her grandfather, is carrying a notebook written by her grandfather. As Kekoa attempts to save her from falling, the notebook falls in a puddle, destroying several of the pages. But as the pages dry, Elinor discovers a secret code located in the back of the notebook.

What Elinor doesn't know is that she has uncovered a code that has been held top secret by the United States government for a long time. And as the others who knew about that secret are turning up dead, Kekoa and the SNAP Agency are tasked with keeping Elinor safe. This turns out to not be too much of a hardship because both of them discover they have feelings for one another.

But personal baggage that Kekoa is carrying threatens to get in the way of his ability to effectively protect Elinor while also uncovering the truth of what is going on.

Can Kekoa and Elinor overcome the obstacles in their paths in order to trust one another to solve this puzzle, and keep Elinor safe?

I LOVE reading Natalie Walters books. The SNAP Agency series is filled with lovable characters, intriguing stories and a mystery that has you not wanting to put the book down. I also loved the snapshot into Walters' life in Hawaii with all of the Hawaiian words and foods scattered throughout Fatal Code.

Walters has written a book that is filled with nonstop excitement, true redemption (that had me in tears!) and characters that you will not want to leave behind.

This was so good! I loved it even more than the first one and that one was excellent. Kekoa was my favorite character, so I loved getting to know him better in this story. I really enjoyed all the Hawaiian culture. So cool!

This was such a well-balanced story. It felt like it had everything I love jam packed into it. There was lots of suspense and tension, a swoony romance, quite a few hilarious laugh-out-loud moments, and some emotional instances, too. There are ciphers, codes, and a mystery surrounding work done at Los Alamos National Laboratory. To say I was hooked is a vast understatement. I loved it so much!

The whole SNAP team is great and I've really enjoyed my time spent with them. I can't wait for Lyla and Garcia's story next! I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys romantic suspense.

Thanks to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for the ARC of this book. Natalie Walters sucks you into the global race for space domination in this perfectly paced second installment of her SNAP Agency romantic suspense series.
I really liked the characters in this book! The writing is fast-paced and I enjoyed visualizing the story. Clean language and morals. I would recommend this book to people who enjoy good Christian Fiction and suspense.

I am looking forward to the third book in this series.

At first I thought this book was going to be a difficult one to finish. There is a Hawaiian character which led the author to use the word brah, slang for brother, thirty-eight times. Annoying, the repetition, not the character. There were also references to a popular television show that some, perhaps many, readers of Christian fiction would likely opt not to watch due to its content, thus the references lack any positive impact. It also made me wonder about the author's choice to basically promote the show. However, since the plot was interesting and well played, I did finish the book. It involved espionage, murder, and cyber-security, so the author hadn't gone completely wrong.

Action-packed with loveable characters, swoony men, and despicable antagonists...a winning combination.

Not having read the first book in this series, I wasn't quite sure what to expect. But diving in I discovered a whole new world with a team of agents that had each other's backs and complemented each other with their various skill sets. Kekoa is haunted by the death of his brother fourteen years ago. He blames himself and when you hear the whole story it might just break your heart. However, this causes problems within his family primarily because he thinks that everyone blames him for the accident. It takes some strong conversations with his father and family to realize that he has been blaming himself for something that was beyond his control.

I think I have found a new favorite character, Elinor! I love her nerdy geeky side especially when it comes to her t-shirts and jokes. They cracked me up throughout the whole book. I also appreciated the love for her grandfather and her interest in ciphers that he taught her so many years ago. While she isn't trusting of everyone, she seems to be a little naive when it comes to other people and their motives. Luckily, The SNAP Agency is on her side, especially Kekoa. She won't know it at first but he believes in her innocence despite what the data reveals.

There is a historical aspect that brings in Los Alamos and the Hydrogen bomb. While most of us might know a little bit about it, the details help expand our minds and imagine what the men went through creating a device that could destroy the world. These men went to great lengths to protect that knowledge but someone has discovered their secret and will obtain it at all costs. I was shocked when all of the pieces fell into place with who was involved and why. I never would have guessed and it is true that sometimes you can't trust anyone around you.

Outside of the action piece, there is the romance between Kekoa and Elinor. It is not a fast-moving relationship and they take it very slow which I enjoyed because it is nice to see people getting to know one another before jumping into the deep end. But that could be because they both had a few things to work through before they could come together. They both bring different nuances to the relationship and it takes their interactions to a new level.

I could not put this book down and kept wondering what could possibly happen next, would Elinor figure out what her grandfather was hiding in his journals, and would Kekoa find forgiveness?

This book can be read on its own, but I would highly recommend reading the first book, Lights Out, to truly understand the SNAP team and their relationships with each other.

We give this book 5 paws up.

Fatal Code is the second book in The SNAP Agency series. I definitely feel like this is one that should be read as a series. While the story might stand okay on it's own, I feel like readers will definitely have a better understanding of the team members and their dynamic if they read in order. (Plus, the first book was fantastic and definitely a highly recommended read regardless.)

When I was first introduced the SNAP team, I must admit it was Kekoa's character that had me most intrigued, so I was really excited to read his story...and I am happy to say it did not disappoint. The Hawaiian, food loving, computer genius Kekoa was really such a unique character... I read a LOT of romantic suspense, and oftentimes the heroes tend to blend together a bit after awhile, but this one is definitely one of a kind, and I found him to be very entertaining--- as was our heroine Elinor. The story was fast paced and had a lot of layers that kept me guessing and turning pages right through to the end. Overall, this was a fantastic read and I cannot wait to see what comes next in the series!

I really enjoyed getting to know Kekoa more in this book. He is carrying a heavy weight that can paralyze him at times. He goes on quite a journey as circumstances seem to be lining up in a way that is too close to what happened before. He learns what he can really rely on.

I love books that have a dynamic team working together. This group reminds me of the show "Leverage" in that they all have their unique skills. I can't wait to learn more about Lyla in the next book.

It was hard to put this book down. I enjoyed the interactions between Elinor and Kekoa. The action and suspense were great. It was interesting learning more about pseudo codes and cryptology. I'd highly recommend this book.

Thank you to Revell for providing me with a free e-copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

Awesome read!

Natalie Walters continues to knock it out of the park in book two of this amazing new series! I loved the main characters and the heartwarming feel of redemption in the storyline. I enjoy the uniqueness of the SNAP Agency and the characters in these stories.

I am really looking forward to book three. You don't want to miss this fast-paced, suspenseful series!

Well, Kekoa turned out to be just as fabulous as I'd hoped after reading Lights Out, Natalie Walters' first book in the SNAP Agency series. Between his muscle bound, tattooed Hawaiin physic and his tender, filled-with-pain-from-the-past heart. He was perfect! If for no other reason than Kekoa, I highly recommend this story. BUT, he's not the only enjoyable thing in this book. The SNAP Agency is super interesting, the dynamics between the team is super complex, yet oh so enjoyable, and I learned so much about how Agency's like these function. I appreciated and enjoyed this book from beginning to end!

This was a great book by Natalie Walters. I loved the characters and the banter between them. I loved how they were a family. I love Kekoa and his fun personality. I loved how him and Elinor complimented each other personality wise. I also loved the mystery/suspense element in the book. I thought she did a great job of giving us clues throughout the book without spoiling it for us. I liked that we figured things out at the same time as the characters. I’m looking forward to reading more by her.
