This was a fun manga. It was heart-warming and funny. Our main man is a total dream guy but his one-sided crush is quite a whack-job…😃😃
I think I would like to read the next volumes as well, if just for the awkward moments of chief’s love and sensei’s blindness to it and the manga assistants’ efforts to get them together. But there is the danger that at one point I might start to dislike the love interest because she can be quite annoying. If it gets to a point which makes you question the desirability of the femme fatale then it’s a dead story…🤔

Such amazing art style and great fun characters to go along with it. I loved how the characters were able to truly come alive on the paper. I felt like the dialog was a bit flat sometimes but overall not bad

The manga starts with Yoshida leaving work right at 5 pm and all the other people at his work place gossiping about how cute he is and they wonder where he goes after work. It thenjumps to a young boy psyching himself up to start a new manga drawing assistant job with his cousin who is a popular shonen mangaka. He doesn't know much about what to do but tries his best. Yoshida walks in and gives everyone an earful when he sees how overworked they are. He feeds them and sends them to take a nap and works with the new guy. When the staff come back after their nap they introduce themselves to the new guy and give him the run down of how the workplace runs. They tell him that Yoshida and the mangaka have been childhood friends and even has a crush on her. The rest of the title is about the assistants trying to push the two of them together. It's kind of funny but not terribly endearing. It's also an interesting insight into how manga is made.

This series is really interesting. It is funny and a light read. The main character, Yoshida is definitely one of those eligible bachelors in the country. Well dressed, elegant features, star player in a big company, and on top of that, the "superhero" chief of his night colleagues, a very hard-working man. But little did his day colleagues know that he's in love with his manga artist friend Shimakaze for a long time that it's transcendent. And that he even work as a part-timer to <s>support her mangaka journey.</s> [and] to be with her. She is what's keeping him secretly off-the-market. But, little did Shimakaze know about her friend's feelings for her. Such a workaholic (and an airhead for that matter) that you'd feel sorry for Yoshida and his feelings. Nevertheless, it will make you laugh!!

The story revolves around the four-cornered environment of a mangaka artist, Shimakaze. This series is a page-turner. The side characters are funny and relatable. And Yoshida is such a delight, that you wouldn't want to put it down until you reached the last page.

Firstly, I enjoyed the art style of this manga very much. I actually am in the middle of Hatsu*Haru right now so I was so excited to read this new manga.

The Transcendent One-Sided Love of Yoshida the Catch is a manga about a super-hot guy who is quite the "catch" but finds himself hopelessly in love with a harebrained mangaka, Shimakaze - who, somehow, has no idea.

Told from the POV of a high school student Rin on his first day as an assistant to Shimakaze, we are introduced to the chaotic world of analog manga writing and deadlines! While there are several full-timer staff, the one to swoop in and always save the day is Yoshida (unpaid) due to his intense crush.

I'm not really sure I would have chosen to have this story told from Rin's POV. I'm not sure how this will pan out over multiple volumes as he will always need to be observing the romance from an outsider perspective.

This story was funny but a little too wacky and all-over-the-place for me to really love the first volume. I felt like I didn't have any time to appreciate what was on the page since it was so fast-paced. But, there is enough intrigue to keep reading and see if Shimakaze ever opens her eyes to the obvious.

This manga was SO funny! The Transcendent One-Sided Love of Yoshida the Catch follows Yoshida, a man who has had a spectacularly unrequited crush on his oblivious best friend, a scatterbrained mangaka he's been supporting for free since her debut. I loved the team cheering him on and their silly antics! I'm a person who loves books about books, so reading manga about manga was a fun experience!

Maybe it's me being allergic to slowburn, but I would have hoped for some small development in this manga. Otherwise, I quite enjoyed this and would recommend to shoujo lovers out there!

liked the premise behind this story, the opening pages introduce us to Yoshida. He is handsome and hardworking, and the subject of gossip in his office. Why does he never go out, why does he always leave exactly at 5.

The chapters after this have alternating perspective of the other characters. The basic plot is that Yoshida is in love with his school friend who is now a successful Mangaka. She is oblivious but it’s clear to everyone around.

There isn’t a lot more to this. It’s quick and easy to read but I’m not sure if I’d pick up the next instalment.

If you like stories where the man is pining after his oblivious best friend— you need to read this manga! It was so much fun. Yoshida’s been in love with Sena Shimakaze for years now and he’s been helping her with her manga dream.. for free.. just to help her and be near her. And she has no idea about his feelings.

I love the dynamic between the two of them. She’s very disorganized and chaotic and he is the complete opposite. Their assistants have been attempting to get her to realize his feelings but so far.. no luck. I loved their interactions and getting to see a little into how some manga is created.

It was a super fun story and I definitely plan on continuing! I need to see what else Yoshida gets into in an attempt to get her to see what he feels!

I thought this was just ok.
- I thought there wasn't a good ratio of text to action within this, there was too much to read and a lot of the scenes felt quite stale and stagnant to me
- I didn't think any of the characters had a great introduction which meant you never truly got to know them
- I did enjoy the art style at least, it was very nice and clean
- The storyline itself also fell flat for me, not much really happened and I think because of this I wouldn't pick up the sequel

The Transcendent One-Sided Love of Yoshida the Catch 1 by Shizuki Fujisawa was a slightly goofy and fun manga volume about an oblivious mangaka and her devoted assistants. One of whom, Yoshida, has a huge unrequited crush on her. The characters are charming and you can't help but root for them as they struggle to meet their deadline chapter by chapter, while also trying to help Yoshida win his love. Solid first volume; I look forward to more!

This was fast, fun read with some really quirky characters and an easy-to-enjoy, rom-com storyline. Mysterious, desirable Yoshida, everyone's idea of a perfect man, has a one-sided love for clueless disaster and childhood friend, mangaka Sena Shimakaze.

Find out about the trials and tribulations of a manga creation team as the story develops, with humourous situations led by Sena's chaotic personality and Yoshida's not-so-secret dedication! It's sweet, cute and the art style is lovely, so a good choice for anyone who enjoys rom-com manga. I loved that it was a bit different to the norm, and the two MCs are easy to adore!

I love this fun manga about a clueless mangaka disaster and the perfect guy who loves her. It's so refreshing to get stories like this, and I always appreciate stories about mangaka and their craft with a dose of humor. Please give this a physical release eventually.

It's was really very short and easy to read manga. There were so many time I did laugh out loud and did enjoyed art style as well but my problem is with storyline, it's was nothing impressive, character didn't had the charm

Okay, I have a bias when it comes to anime and manga. I tend to not watch or read anything with really long titles. I don’t know why, but it’s a weird habit I have. But then I saw the cover for The Transcendent One-Sided Love of Yoshida the Catch and I needed to pick it up. Published and localized in English by Kodansha, The Transcendent One-Sided Love of Yoshida the Catch is created, written, and illustrated by Shizuki Fujisawa. The English translation of the manga features translation from Cerridwyn Graffham/amimaru, and lettering by Juan Marcos Rivera/amimaru.

The Transcendent One-Sided Love of Yoshida the Catch is all about, well, Yoshida. He’s cool, smart, and really, really good-looking. A salaryman, he’s the company superstar and has the eye of every available woman for miles around. He really is the keeper most women are looking for. But Yoshida only loves one woman –the manga artist and walking-disaster Sena Shimakaze. To help her achieve her dream of being a successful mangaka, Yoshida is a part-time assistant working for free and holding Shimakaze’s whole team together. He keeps them fed, makes sure they’re rested, and knows exactly how to get the mangaka moving instead of relying on her assistants. But friendship overshadows everything and Shimakaze is married to her work, leaving Yoshida’s love entirely one-sided.

The best part of The Transcendent One-Sided Love of Yoshida the Catch Volume 1 is Shimakaze and Yoshida’s dynamic. The two have been friends since high school and their dynamic is friendship first, manga second, and love isn’t even on the itinerary. One of the strengths of the manga is that we see Yoshida and Shimakaze through the eyes of the people around them. We see his care and dedication to helping the team from their perspective and in that see how kind he is towards Shimakaze in the process. But that kindness is the kind that only old friends can have and includes him calling her a little shit and bribing her with delicious pastries to get her pages done.

While it’s clear how much Yoshida’s actions show his care and love for Shimakaze none of it is overt or even remotely too strong. Yoshida shows his love by being who Shimakaze needs him to be. He’s accepted his relegation to the sideline but knows that he can help her achieve her dreams. It’s wholesome and a nice change of pace from rom-com protagonists who come on strong and just keep trying to barrel through boundaries.

As rom-com leads, Yoshida knows exactly how to be loving and how to light a fire under Shimakaze. On the other hand, Shimakaze is a hot mess. She’s oblivious to everything, including locking the bathroom door, and the epitome of a procrastinator. Their dynamic is one of balance, and like the assistants who help complete the manga, the reader is watching the two complement each other’s energy. Organized and chaotic, aware and totally oblivious, the couple is clearly going to be on their way to a romance of errors with their co-workers completely butting in. And I for one, can’t wait to read more.

It is a cute and simple story suitable for someone like me who sometimes need cute love story to replenish her energy. Yoshida is view as a cool, talented and smart guy in the office. Everything about him is perfect. This story is about Yoshida one sided love for his best friend who happen to be a mangaka. We can see the effort he spend for someone he loves, so precious. The manga sometimes made me giggle and I really enjoy watching the life of a mangaka and I truly appreciate mangaka, who bring happiness to us, the readers.

A sweet and funny comedy full of surprise. I like that kind of chemistry, the capable/tsundere boy and the clumsy /over passionate girl. Sena makes me smile even if she has to be a little more sensitive about her team. It's a charming story.

I really enjoyed this first volume and I'm waiting for the next one to see how this story develops, it has some of my favorite tropes like childhood friends and unrequited love (I just hope this ends up being a childhood friends to lovers), all the characters are loveable and I can't wait to see more of them.

Even though this first volume is kinda introductory, it also has a story to tell, you can get to know the characters better and even grow attached to some of them, something that is amazing to do in a first volume, because it doesn't happen often, at least not to me.

I can't wait to see if Yoshida gets his feelings reciprocated and to see more adventures of this characters!
