The Transcendent One-Sided Love of Yoshida the Catch, Vol. 1 introduces us to Hibiki Yoshida, a full-time office worker that mystifies his colleagues in what he does after work. Little did they know, but he spends his free time helping a mangaka named Sena Shimakaze, a longtime friend that he has been in love with for such a long time. Sena is oblivious to his unrequited love, much to her staff’s frustration, as they continue to watch Yoshida and Sena interact.

THIS MANGA IS SO CUTE! The story is delightfully illustrated, and the characters are adorable! I adore how chapters are done with different points of view of secondary characters within the manga, as it stresses how oblivious Sena is to Yoshida’s true feelings. Her staff is wonderfully rooting for him, for Yoshida is such a kind person. You see it in his actions with how he treats the people around him. He never put his feelings above Sena’s, giving readers a sense of frustration and commiseration.

I’m looking forward to reading the story unfold! I’m rooting for you, Yoshida-san!

This was adorable and hilarious and I wish it were coming to print and not just ebook! Yoshida is a salary man with a secret: he's a mangaka's assistant who he also happens to be in love with! Cue the adorable moments and hilarious assistants who recognize his love for Shimakaze and are always rooting for him. This was a delight to read and I will definitely keep my eyes out for volume two's release!

This manga is so hilarious and I love how when Yoshida has to do a kissing scene with Shimakaze for her manga and he got so nervous and tried to make excuses not to kiss her even though he wanted too made me laugh so hard. And then Masachika, one of the part timers was like: there's a picture reference you want online. I laughed so hard cause the silent was too loud on this one LMAOO

This manga was actually really cute and I found myself laughing out loud at certain points. Yoshida is so dedicated, it’s kind of insane. And the manga artist is so oblivious that’s it’s unrealistic. I know manga and anime are supposed to be unrealistic, but yeah.

I did enjoy what I read and I will definitely pick up volume two when it comes out!

The Transcendent One-Sided Love of Yoshida the Catch (vol. 1) is about Yoshida who works a normal day job then helps out Shimakaze (a manga writer/artist) whom he's had a crush on for a long time. This volume is all about that and the shenanigans the rest of her assistants do to try and get them together.

This was so cute! I really liked the characters and the plot. This type of romance is definitely my favorite. The artstyle is cute and I'm definitely going to continue in the series. Would recommend!

This was a cute read, and I enjoyed how the characters are working on a manga series. I don't usually like character types like the one that our lovesick Yoshida is in love with, but I can work with it since the story is humorous. I'm interested to see where the plot goes, and how far the plot of an oblivious love interest can go.

Per aiutarlo in questo amore disperato anche gli altri assistenti faranno di tutto per aiutarlo ad avvicinarsi a lei.

Ho apprezzato molto i disegni e la storia originale. Purtroppo non capisco bene la scelta del punto di vista. All'inizio sembrava fosse dal punto di vista del quindicenne nuovo apprendista assistente, ma poi tutto è diventato molto più generico e confuso. Vorrei vedere molto più Yoshida e magari che venisse spiegato anche altri passaggi del procedimento della creazione dei manga.

Really enjoyable, light and fun reading.
This is the story of a mangaka (a bit in the clouds) and her assistants, including the charming Yoshida who is totally lost for his boss. Unfortunately she is totally oblivious to his feelings ... and she doesn't notice it at all. To help him in this desperate love, the other assistants will also do everything to help him get closer to her.

I really enjoyed the drawings and the original story. Unfortunately, I don't quite understand the choice of point of view. At first it seemed like it was from the perspective of the 15-year-old new assistant apprentice, but then it all became much more generic and confusing. I would like to see a lot more Yoshida and maybe more steps of the manga creation process.

Yoshida is a very handsome man and a rising star at his office job at a large corporation. He mysteriously leaves at 5 PM every day, but where does he go?

Cut to a high school student on his first day as an assistant to outlandishly eccentric mangaka, Shimakaze. She and her group of assistants descend into chaos as they attempt to finish her manuscript, as the deadline is fast approaching.

Enter Yoshida, who competently takes charge, takes care of Shimakaze, her overworked staff, and helps complete the manga on time. And he does all this unpaid, because he has had an intense, one-way crush on Shimakaze since high school! Of course the wacky mangaka is so focused on creating her manga that she’s completely oblivious to his feelings.

I found this very funny and heartwarming and am excited to continue the series. If you enjoyed Shizuki Fujisawa’s other series, Hatsu Haru, or you like romantic comedy manga, then you should definitely give this one a try.

I honestly didn't' thought it would turn our like that (cause of forgetting the synopsis right away) so I was kind of taken back by the turn of events.

Storywise, I think it's not really that striking to me even though I did enjoy the funny moments it had. I just think that it could have been better.

I had a lot of fun reading this one! The main character, Yoshida, is madly in love with his high school friend, Shimakaze, who is now a mangaka (manga artist). What made this fun to read is that Yoshida's a tsundere who is so obvious with his feelings for her, but she is absolutely oblivious of it. Shimakaze is a walking disaster, so Yoshida had no choice but to be there to clean up her mess because he's just too whipped.

For one thing, Yoshida has stunning eyes <3 I'M IN LOVE WITH THEM! I think I'm enjoying it so much because as a handsome hero, his love story is tragic (in a humorous way) and he definitely won't get the love of his life anytime soon, at least not without more trouble coming their way. But he's very efficient with his work and all the mangaka assistants adored him so I find it very endearing. I like this kind of story more than when a handsome man gets every woman his wants easily.

I probably would dislike someone like Shimakaze in real life because she has zero tact, but I guess it's funny to read about her in a manga. As much as I think Yoshida deserves someone much better, I'd still root for both of these characters though! I can definitely imagine all the disaster coming their way as Yoshida continues trying to convey his feelings to her.

I love all the assistants too! Their characters are not very distinct since they're mostly on the same page about almost everything, but this is only the first volume so I'm sure there'll be more from the four of them in the upcoming volumes. As of now I find them all adorable.

It's fun to read a story about how a mangaka works, though I'm unsure to how much extent the events could be true. I'm definitely looking forward to more Yoshida with his tragic love story <3 I do hope we'll get to have some POVs from him too in the next volumes.

I’m usually more inclined towards action-packed mangas, but this one right here has given me a new found love and appreciation for slice-of-life mangas. It was such a fun, funny, feel-good reading experience; I was almost embarrassed at how much I was giggling throughout. Shimakaze is my favorite ever! She’s so, as Fujisawa put it, record-breakingly wacky and all over the place; I can’t get enough of her! And poor Yoshida, so precious with his “transcendently one-sided” crush. I have no choice but to root for him, you know? And all the other assistants make for such fun side-characters! Honestly can’t wait to read more of this!

The Transcendent One-Sided Love of Yoshida the Catch is such a great shoujo manga! I'm positively surprised how refreshing and different it is. We meet Yoshida, who's a superstar at his work place, handsome and everything just works so well for him. Well, love isn't such a thing though as Yoshida is in love with a disaster manga artist Sena Shimakaze. They've known since school days and Yoshida helps the woman with her manga. She's a total clutch and doesn't see Yoshida's love for her and the situations are great. She has assistants that root for Yoshida and that's so wonderful. It's finally this way around and we see this nutcase woman and a serious guy and it's a perfect combination really. Somehow this is so realistic and super humorous at the same time. The situations are funny and thoughtful and weird at the same time.

The art looks good, very good. It fits the story well and the characters have personas and expressions. Such a lively and adult-like series. It's easy to approach and the manga making process is a great bonus. Finally a humor series with romance that even I can enjoy fully!

Love love love this new manga series. So adorable and totally fills my heart with squealing goodness. I am standing their along with the assistants rooting for Yoshida! Shimakaze better get a clue quick before someone steals him away.

Usually cute love stories like this happen in a school setting. It is so wonderful to read a manga about adults in this kind of one-sided love story. I can not wait for the next volume to come out.

For a manga about making manga (and there's plenty of that out there), this romantic comedy somehow seems fresh and different? Yoshida, the male lead has lots going for him: he's smart, he's good-looking, he's got a great job and he's got his sh*t together in so many ways... except one: he's in love with a manga artist who's so disorganized and uninterested in romance, it's either funny or painful, depending on who you sympathize with most in this story.

So one plus is that the main "couple" are adults -- not high school kids, so when they have moments when they catch each other kinda... underdressed after a bath, it's not as creepy as it could be. Also, there's some fun insights into what it's like to make manga too.

The other thing that's funny about this is that the manga artist's assistants are pretty much all aware of the painfully one-sided love that's happening here, and they try to cheer on poor Yoshida from the sideline, while also suffering under stress that comes from trying to meet a deadline while working for a manga artist who's terrible at time-management.

It feels kind of like a twist on Weekly Girl's Nozaki-kun, but it's less like the ensemble comedy of Nozaki-kun, and maybe more like the Planes Trains and Automobiles level of frustration when an otherwise likeable and nice character has the misfortune of being stuck with someone who... well maybe she'll redeem herself later, but right now, it kinda feels like she doesn't deserve him? Worth a look for a first volume -- we'll see how things develop in volume 2!

I found this title to be really cute! The twist that the extremely put-together man is so obviously in love with his extremely oblivious person of affection is nice. Normally, this kind of character would be the love interest being chased. It's also fun that the supporting cast sees what's going on and clearly want the two of them to be happy. Now, if only our main could learn to speak the same love language! I don't know if this premise can sustain a lot of volumes, but this first one had me rooting along with the assistants! The dynamic between the two works well!

This is a hilarious story, following the unrequited love that Yoshida has on long time friend and crush Shimakaze, who is a walking disaster. The story is told through the POV of Rin, a young boy who is a mangaka apprentice.

I found this very entertaining, and the character interaction was not only one that supports each other with regards to Yoshida's crush but how they try so hard to help Yoshida and set him up in ridiculous situations with Shimakaze.

I really enjoyed the energy that the energy the characters had and the whole vibe of the story. Looking forward to the next volume!

This comic was very short and easy to read. There were some parts which made me laugh out loud. But mostly it was boring. The plot was nonsensical. The characters were also flat and two dimensional. I just didn't see the purpose of this comic. It wasn't bad but wasn't good either. I found it easily forgettable and boring.

I absolutely LOVED this manga. I initially knew it would be about Shimakaze and Yoshida’s “relationship” but I was surprised when some of the story was told through the POV of Rin, the young boy mangaka apprentice. This is also a manga that’s low-key about how to create manga the analog way. It was really interesting to learn about! The highlight of the manga was definitely the mangaka crew though, they are so fun and it’s just so heartwarming because they are like a little family. I love how supportive they are of Yoshida’s crush and how they try so hard to help Yoshida and Shimakaze into situations where she can possibly realize his feelings for her. There’s a bit of fan service as well, but it was portrayed in a very fun way. You also really find yourself rooting for Yoshida along with the rest of the mangaka because it’s so painful to see how Shimakaze is so clueless about his feelings for her🙈 Overall, this is a highly entertaining manga and I need the next volume. This manga definitely made me laugh a ton and I loved the energy and vibe of it.

The Transcendent One-Sided Love of Yoshida the Catch, Volume 1 by Shizuki Fujisawa is an absolutely hilarious workplace comedy. The story revolves around a bunch of characters who work for a manga-ka named Sena. Among them is Yoshida, a good-looking office worker who is in love with Sena. Despite working a full-time job, he also works part-time for Sena, because of his one-sided crush on Sena. But is Sena actually ignoring him or is she just oblivious to his affections?

Overall, The Transcendent One-Sided Love of Yoshida the Catch, Volume 1 is an adorable rom-com that will appeal to fans of Horimiya and Bakuman. It will appeal to fans of Horimiya with the hilarious gags and interactions between Yoshia and Sena. It will appeal to fans of Bakuman, because it similarly is a meta-take on manga, revealing behind-the-scenes looks of the manga-making process. One highlight of this book is that it is truly a "found family" story, with each character given their own chapter to shine. The main character isn't the main couple but the whole workplace. If you're intrigued by the description, or if you're a fan of workplace comedies, I highly recommend that you check out this book when it comes out in February!

This was quite a cute and funny read. As the title explains it, this is the story of Yoshida being in a one-sided love. However, don’t expect something naïve. Yoshida is always scolding or arguing with Sena. Because she is so much focused on her work, takes everything literally and is a bit clumsy, it creates funny situations. The story is told from a third point-of-view to really show how Yoshida is in love, and everybody can tell expect Sena. I enjoyed it. I wonder how the relationship between the two is going to develop.
I recommend to people looking for a funny romance.
