I absolutely loved this manga and can’t wait for Volume 2! This gave me Fruits Basket vibes so i’d definitely recommend this to lovers of Furuba. Toma reminded me of Yuki and Shun reminded me of Kyo for sure!
It has some of my favourite romance tropes like Friends to Lovers and a spectacular Love Triangle. This also has an intriguing Amnesia plot to give the story depth and intrigue.
Overall I can’t wait to pick up Volume 2!

I enjoyed the first volume of this story. The love triangle and the mystery behind the connection of the characters has me intrigued. I already know who I'm rooting to get together and hope I'm right. The art is wonderful and is easy to follow. It will be interesting to see how the cliff hanger at the end of the first volume plays out but I'm guessing we won't learn more about it for a couple volumes. Anyone who likes high school romance manga but with older characters will enjoy this one.

Lovely manga with a good love triangle and a great mystery.
I do wonder what happened to Honatsu and what’s going to happen next.

How do you fall in love? Is it fast, blindsiding you? or is it slow, accumulating over time?
This story follows the MC Honatsu as she tries to define what love is to her and how she feels it.
Is Honatsu falling in love with her childhood friend Toma or the new kid Shun Tachibana? And how does Shu tie into the past she can't remember?
According to the author, this story was originally a thriller before their editor suggested adding an element of romance, which makes it an odd combination of thriller/romance.
Overall it had some love-triangle and miscommunication (the MC is left out of the loop) tropes, which I generally despise, however, the added thriller aspect kept me on the edge of my seat and I look forward to reading more of Honatsu's story and the decisions she will make.

I fell in love with this manga by the end of the first chapter! It was absolutely perfect. I loved the dynamic between each of the friends, along with the smooth character introductions, and how I was instantly introduced to the plot without too much backstory or exposition.
I loved the art, and character designs as well. I was drawn to the book based on the title and cover art, was incredibly pleased to find that this was both a romance and mystery. I liked reading about the authors creative process in between the chapters, and had fun imagining what this first volume would've been like had it followed the original mystery-drama idea. I'm super glad that's still in there because it is a genre I absolutely adore!
I don't want to give any spoilers but I'll definitely be buying a copy of this book once it's available at my local bookstore!

I absolutely loved Falling Drowning 1. It had a sense of mystery which kept me wanting to read more. I also love love triangles so this was perfectly done. The characters were so mysterious and I definitely want to keep up with this series. It was simple, short and sweet.

Just like the title, Falling Drowning hinted at a story of high school love between Honatsu and Toma, her childhood best friend.
However, when aloof transfer student Shun Tachibana appears, Hanatsu finds herself in a predicament as her head and heart pull in separate ways. What more when there's something about Shun that seems to connect to Honatsu's past that she can't remember.

First of all, there's just something about a best friend-to-lover manga that hits different. It's always so melancholic and put me on the edge; which is what this book is basically about — but with a little mystery to add a cherry on top.

This manga offered readers a slow-paced build-up as the mangaka was establishing the groundwork for the characters rather than delving into the mystery of Honatsu's accident when she was eleven. This strategy works as I truly looking forward to finding what's in store for the rest of the volume. The love triangle presented also makes it hard for me to choose a party to root for.

Falling in love is an emotional upheaval at any age, but for adolescents the feelings are likely to be even more difficult to manage. Although some of the thoughts from Honatsu was bemusing — I find it suiting of her age as she tried to figure out what she wants, at the same time, working on her self-growth.

Another bonus point for the manga is that illustration is superlative and really up to my alley. Couldn't wait for the next volume! I need it ASAP! (ಥ﹏ಥ)

I’m not sure if it’s the title or the artwork that caught my eye first—perhaps both—but what I know is that falling/drowning for this story seems to be really easy.

With a gorgeous art style and a particularly interesting love triangle, Yuko Inari drags readers into a plot filled with love and drama. The thing I love the most is that Falling Drowning is not your typical high school shōjo—where romance sometimes can be a bit predictable—but one that takes quite an unexpected route with secrets surrounding the characters and amnesia . . . The new student shouldn’t be that ‘new’, but Honatsu’s memory loss doesn’t let her realise that, and Shun is not that inclined to let her (re)discover much about him. What is he hiding? What really happened when Honatsu had the accident that changed her life eleven years ago? And what do you mean we have to wait for more after THAT final line?

A lovely shōjo with a suspenseful twist! My curiosity has been piqued and there is no going back! Except for Honatsu’s memory, something I hope she will get back . . .

I received an ARC of this manga, and I am voluntarily leaving a review.

Everyone seems to think Honatsu is dating her childhood friend Toma, but they're really just friends. However, Honatsu can't help but wonder if she loves Toma or not. As she struggles to figure out her feelings, a transfer student appears and makes things even more complicated. Meanwhile, Honatsu is missing some of her memories due to an incident that occurred years ago...

I didn't expect to enjoy this manga as much as I did! This volume has already sucked me into the story, and I will definitely be continuing the series!

To be honest, I almost didn't even want to read this one. I dislike love triangles, so I normally try to avoid reading them. I ended up deciding to give this a try since some of my friends were looking forward to it and the art seemed pretty. But this ended up being so good!

The love triangle isn't as obnoxious as most are. It's not a huge issue yet, but I suspect it will get more intense in future volumes. Both love interests are fine, but I have chosen a side already! It will be interesting to see how the romance plays out alongside the mysterious plot.

I also like Honatsu's character in general! You can tell how hard she's trying, and she makes you want to root for her. I like her determination to look after herself and try new things!

The plot has to do with the truth about Honatsu's past, which Honatsu can't remember. The other characters seem to know about it and are withholding information. I just expected this to be a shojo manga series, but the mystery/suspense aspects are excellent!

I can't wait to read the rest of this series! This volume ends on a suspenseful note, so I'm even more eager for another volume now! I would recommend this to those who like romance with a bit of mystery, along with love triangle fans!

Thank you so much to the publishing company, Kodansha Comics and Netgalley for providing me with a copy!!!

This was a very cute read which I expected nothing less of. I’m a huge shojo fan and this is well delivered. I’ve read so many shojo and I love how unique this storyline is. And the art is just so well done. Thank you to the author for going beyond the shojo pattern and captivating us readers with the added suspense and mystery.

This manga follows Honatsu, our main character dealing with the struggle of high school while having lost 11 years worth of memory…And things take a turn when she tries to connect with the new student (who may or may not have been from her past).

You can tell with this series we will be getting great character development. It is interesting seeing Honatsu discover herself and the world around her. I just enjoyed seeing her grow as an individual. I can tell there is so much more to come and I’m all for it. The cliffhanger ending has me excited for the second! (which I WILL DEFINITELY BE CHECKING OUT)

Honatsu seems like your typical teenager she just got back to school after being sick for 2 weeks, her classmates tease her about Toma a guy she's been friends with since she was a kid but is trying to figure out if she loves him. She hears there is a new transfer student but hasn't been to school either. It turns out that Honatsu has amnesia and couldn't remember her past will this new transfer student be a key to unlocking her past or will she finally love Toma?

This Manga really is great I can't wait to read the second volume.

I don’t have a lot of experience reading manga, but I really enjoyed this! I like both of the love interests a lot, but am always secretly rooting for the bad boy so this is perfect. I did find it hard to follow at times, but other than that I liked this more than I expected!

This manga was super cute and I loved the aspects of suspense. Overall it was incredibly well written and I love everything about it. It was such a great quick read I would recommend it to anyone out there looking for something to get them out of a reading slump. The three main characters are super adorable and it touches on topics that I feel like I don’t often see in manga like amnesia and moving on from that loss of time. Our main character starts up school again after being out of it for a while and navigates love and being a second year highschooler while also trying to figure out who she is in a way. The suspense was well paced and the romance gives you just enough to keep you wanting more

4,5★

The manga is about a girl who lost her amnesia due to an accident, since then her friends became overprotective of her. Having lost 11 years worth of memory Honatsu tries her best to make up for it but after a mysterious transfer student arrives her peaceful life gets shaken up again. Somehow he seems to have a connection to her past aswell. of course that’s not all, honatasu‘s guy bestfriend Toma has a crush on her but she’s confused about her feelings since it’s the first time she felt something so close to love.

OH MY GOD !! I’m literally speechless. The last two pages left me on the edge of my seat i just can’t. The art - wow: Tachibana and Toma are so beautifully drawn. I love honatsu our main character so much because she is unlike any other shoujo girl. She wants to overcome her fears and learn and that’s why i love her so much. The plot is so interesting that I would definitely buy the second volume!

This is definitely for shoujo lovers who are tired of the clichés. This is the one!!!

Thank you to Netgalley and Kodansha for this ARC in exchange for a honest review

I feel like this manga definitely missed the mark for me. There were some cute moments and the artwork was good but I just didn’t really care about the characters or the story line. There were certain scenes that seemed to just be randomly thrown in. Maybe if I was the target audience, I would have enjoyed it more. This just wasn’t my cup of tea but I’m happy I was able to read it for review.

This was cute. I liked that there's obviously history between all the characters even if it's not all spelled out yet. The tension between her and Shun is amazing. I'm also very interested to learn what the accident was and how her dad died.

3.25 Stars ( I received an e-arc from Net Galley in exchange for an honest review)

I enjoyed this first volume in a series, it was a change up from the usual manga I have read. The tone of the story has quite an angsty vibe, though when the main character has no memories of her life before a major accident. There is always the feeling that she doesn’t really know who she is, but she has a couple of great friends who help her out. Which includes Toma her childhood friend and seem to be developing feelings for. Then there is a new male student who may have a connection her past and awakens new feelings in her. The emerging love triangle is extremely well done and very subtle, curious to see how it further develops. A couple of twists and somewhat of a cliff hanger ending, this a great start to my reading of manga/graphic novels.

WOW, I can't wait for volume 2! (This becoming an anime would be amazing)
We follow Honatsu Tenma, starting the new school year in the same class as her two childhood friends, Toma and Akine. She finds out there's a new transfer student, Shun Tachibana, who is also friends with Toma. We follow Honatsu being unsure about her feelings for Toma and Shun, whilst the boys hide secrets from her past.
I love the art style so much. It fits perfectly with the book. I also really like the plot, even though it had a few clichés but I'm not complaining. I really like the characters. The moral of the story is I liked everything.
