I’ve always loved Elin Hilderbrand’s Nantucket books, and "The Hotel Nantucket" was no exception. The story follows Lizbet, a local trying to rebuild her life after a breakup, as she takes on managing a glamorous but troubled hotel with a haunted past. The ghost of Grace, a young chambermaid who died in a 1920s fire, adds an unexpected layer—I wasn’t sure about the supernatural twist at first, but Grace’s mischievous presence grew on me. The hotel’s staff and guests all have their own secrets and heartaches. Hilderbrand has a gift for making even minor characters feel vivid and real. That said, with so many storylines, some threads felt a bit rushed, and I wished for more depth with Lizbet’s romantic subplot.

It’s not my absolute favorite Hilderbrand (I’ll always be partial to "The Blue Bistro"), but it’s a perfect summer escape—light enough to devour in a weekend, with just enough drama to keep things interesting.

I will preface this review by saying that I feel like when I pick up an Elin Hildebrand book, she always gives me what I want and I'm never disappointed in that regard. Her writing is light, fun, airy, and just a good and easy read. I've read many of her works and will continue to read her backlog as well as anything she writes in the future!

That being said, her writing is not without fault and I think this one fell a little short. There were far too many characters to buy into any single storyline (except for I really loved the character of Magda!) and I wasn't keen on the supernatural element - sometimes I think writers experiment a little too far out of their norm and this is an example of something that just didn't work. Not my favorite of hers, but still read with a smile on my face and a wistfulness as I said goodbye to some of my favorite Nantucket characters.

3.5 stars!

The Hotel Nantucket was a fun and engaging read! The mix of history, mystery, and a touch of ghostly mischief kept things interesting, while the cast of characters—especially Lizbet—made the story feel lively and heartwarming. Watching the hotel transform alongside the staff’s personal growth was satisfying, and the setting itself was beautifully described. The ghostly element added a unique twist without overpowering the main storyline. Overall, an enjoyable read with just the right amount of drama and charm!

Hotel Nantucket was another opportunity to be transported back to Nantucket,MA and live vicariously through the many characters and scenes of the island. Like many of Elin Hildebrand’s books, it falls into the category of a beach/summer read, fast-paced, and charming. There are some other-worldly elements that make it unlike some of the other books written by her, which was a fun and somewhat unexpected twist in the plot.

This was a delightful summer read, transporting you to the picturesque setting of Nantucket. Her books always leave me wanting to take a trip to Nantucket! The story revolves around Lizbet, who is taking on the task of restoring a historical hotel on the island. I really enjoyed following the stories of the hotel staff she hires and the quirky guests. Every character had a well developed backstory and it was easy to get wrapped up in all of their journeys.

I am so late reviewing this amazing book. I'm not sure why I put it off for so long, but oh my! What a great book. It has a bit of everything, and makes you feel like you are part of the family. The characters are so well defined, even the ones you want to hate, you just really want to give them a hug.
I highly recommend tucking in for this lovely read, you won't want to put it down!
Thanks to netgalley, the publisher and author for the chance to read this awesome ARC.

This book is quite possibly my favorite Elin Hilderbrand book. The setting, the characters, and writing style were *chef's kiss*. I absolutely love how the house itself was a character in the story!

Confession: I adore books about hotels and restaurants. The Hotel Nantucket is set to open after a massive renovation, funded by London billionaire. The novel covers its first summer and the way the staff, guests, and island residents interact. There's so much classic Hilderbrand here, including a few familiar faces. It's a great entry point to the Nantucket universe for newbies and a refreshing next chapter for her devotes fans.

Elin Hilderbrand has earned her reputation as queen of the beach read for a reason. Year after year, she manages to put out a fabulous new book, with new characters, and a new story line, usually set in her beloved Nantucket, without things getting too predictable. I absolutely loved Hotel Nantucket, the different characters, and storylines, and the friendships portrayed. This was a great quick read, which was a perfect "palate cleanser" after finishing a heavier book.

Super late to the game on this one, but now I know why Elin Hilderbrand is so popular! This was such an enjoyable read. The modern day struggles, friendships, and romance tied up with a plucky ghost--I loved every minute of this one. Definately recommended and I will be reading more of Hilderbrand's books.

This is the first Erin Hildebrand novel I have read and I was not disappointed. I loved all the characters and how their storylines developed. My favorite was Grace Hadley, of course! I am looking forward to reading more books from this author in the future.

2.5. Grace the ghost was the shining character of this book. Frat boy Chad had an interesting character arc. Every other character and storyline was rather boring.
