Full disclosure I am a huge Elin Hilderbrand fan! Also full disclosure I started reading her books just last year when Paradise trilogy turned into a fan for life. Now I have a backlist a mile long (thank you Elin!) but once The Hotel Nantucket fell into my hands I just had to dive into Elin's latest.

Abandoned Hotel Nantucket gets purchased and renovated by a wealthy investor who has complicated reasons for wanting the new hotel to be a success. He hires a recently heartbroken Lizbet to run the hotel and in turn she assembles a colourful cast of characters to work together with her. As the hotel opens for its first season, some of the guests and staff might be bringing with them lots more excitement (and maybe romance) than Lizbet signed up for. Not everyone is who or how they appear to be. At the heart of it all is a ghost of a chambermaid who died in the hotel in 1912. Will Lizbet and her crew manage to pull a miracle? You'll have to pick up a copy of The Hotel Nantucket to find out!

I've never been to Nantucket (but after reading this book definitely hope to change that) but this story was the closest thing I came to travelling without moving. Not only did the characters start feeling like long lost friends but I felt like all of my senses were engaged while reading. Some of the food and drink descriptions most certainly had me drooling (and my stomach rumbling). I love getting lost in the stories I read and this one delivered in a big way in that regard. Yes this is a perfect beach read but it's also a well written character drama that will make you forget about everything else and make you feel like you're a part of the story.

Grateful to NetGalley and Little, Brown and Company for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review!

While this wasn’t my kind of book I know a million people will love it, it’s Elin Hildenbrand after all. The book focuses on a refurbished hotel in Nantucket. There is a huge cast of characters and most seem to be harboring secrets. A few are…Chadwick, a rich kid who has done something so terrible (we don’t know what) he decides to slum it and clean rooms at the hotel as penance. There’s Alessandra, who is clearly sus and works the front desk. A mom of 2 who shacks up at the hotel paying all in cash. And a ghost who haunts the hotel. Hildenbrand tries to infuse current day verbiage and lots of name brand hotels into the mix and I think this is part of her brand so it didn’t really bother me but I’ve seen people comment on this. For me this book was fine. It’s a beachy read without anything too deep. Even potential rape scene are glossed over quickly. None of the characters really spoke to me or had me feeling much emotion for them unfortunately and while I was interested in learning some of the secrets nothing was particularly stunning.
In all I’m glad to be done so I can move on to my next read but again I’m not part of the Elin fan club so take my review with a grain of salt if you are.

Summer would not be summer without Elin Hilderbrand transporting us to Nantucket Island! So pour yourself a fun beachy drink, stretch out by the beach (or chill out under the air conditioning), grab yourself a copy of Hotel Nantucket, and get ready for the best read of your entire summer.

Hotel Nantucket is packed with everything you’d expect for an amazing summer read: relationships, summer romance, drama, mystery, and even a ghost!

The Hotel Nantucket was in ruins for years. Despite its rich history, nobody was up to the task of saving it. Not until a mysterious billionaire snaps the property up. No expense is spared in the renovations in hopes to make it better than it ever was, (and to impress two women). The very existence of Hotel Nantucket is now the talk of the island.

You’ll be introduced to a very eclectic cast of characters including: Lizabeth, Edie, Margot, Alessandra, and Gracie the resident Ghost. They all come with their own drama and secrets, and all have their own motivations for the grand renovations to be a success. Things will go wrong, secrets will be revealed and drama will unfold.

This book is absolutely amazing and I loved every single part of it! This is a must read for summer!

Thank you to Netgalley, Elin Hilderbrand, and Little & Brown publishing for the chance to read this digital ARC for my honest thoughts.

Thank you to NetGalley for providing a digital copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. I'm sure I'll be the only one to say this, but the story did not grab me like every other Elin Hilderbrand book I've devoured. Partly because I wasn't into the storyline of the ghost haunting the hotel, partly because there were many micro-stories among the various characters - hotel employees and guests - that I wasn't really invested in them unfolding. I can usually finish her books in a weekend and I found myself cleaning my house instead of reading, which is telling for me but I was determined to finish, I owe that to her other books. :)

Happy Pub Day!! Elin Hilderbrand has done it again by delivering the perfect beach read at the beginning of summer. The character development was top notch, like all of Hilderbrand’s books. And I normally don’t like paranormal aspects, but Grace the ghost was the perfect amount of real and supernatural. I loved the drama, the heartache, the mystery, just everything!! This was such a fun read.

Because, why would you not want to travel, via book, to Nantucket this summer?! This book was fun and I enjoyed the whole thing. I loved the way Elin Hilderbrand creates multiple story lines with various characters and ties them all together throughout the book. Another great summer read and I think you all should pick this one up on June 14th! There was also a unique twist to this book that I kind of loved, but I don’t want to spoil anything!

It's officially summer when I've read an Elin book!! If only I had saved it for poolside!!

In her usual fashion, Hilderbrand delivers a fun novel full of complex characters, Nantucket charm, love stories and breakups, and of course DRAMA! I loved the twist in The Hotel Nantucket with Grace - a ghost who has been haunting the hotel for the past 100 years in the hopes that someone will pay attention and solve her murder.

The descriptions in this novel were transportive. Hydrangea blue may be my new favorite color and I'm pretty sure I'll be judging every hotel I ever step foot into from here on out always searching for that five key property! The Hotel Nantucket and Blue Bar sounded like literal paradises. If only they were based on real places like so much else in Hilderbrand's novels!

I always think it's fun how Hilderbrand ties in characters and pieces from her prior novels. It feels really authentic to me with Nantucket being such an intimate island. I haven't read The Blue Bistro yet, but after attending a reading with Hilderbrand last year and learning it's her favorite novel and then hearing so much about it and meeting Mario in The Hotel Nantucket, it's officially overdue that I pick it up!! That being said, it's also excellent that you don't need to have read those novels in order to appreciate the current one because they are not true series.

I will say I was a bit confused on one point regarding Shelly Carpenter (which I won't elaborate on so that I don't give any spoilers) that I wish had been better clarified. I made assumptions and it certainly didn't take away from the storyline, but I definitely wish it had been addressed.

All in all, this book was stellar and it's one I hope to see at many beaches this summer! If you've loved Elin's work in the past, this one will be no exception and you absolutely must pick it up!

Thank you to Little, Brown and NetGalley for the copy.

4.5 stars. This is a great summer read. The Hotel Nantucket comes to life in this book and seems like a real place with real people. Elin Hilderbrand's writing is so smooth, with a rich development of the characters (who all seem to have some intrigue that is revealed in the course of the book), along with an endearing yet tragic ghost. This book actually was able to lighten my mood every time I picked it up--it was like a relaxing beach vacay in my mind!

Thank you to Little, Brown and Company and NetGalley for this e-ARC.

Hotel Nantucket has a reputation. Not a good one, mind you. It has been through quite a few owners, scandals, and disasters. When billionaire Xavier Darling buys it sight unseen, he wants it to be the “it” place on Nantucket. He pours in all the money needed for renovations and then hires Lizbet to manage the place. Lizbet and JJ have just broken up after 15 years together. She I ready for a new start. Running a brand new hotel, hiring staff, and working ungodly hours herself for leaves her little time to think about her own issues.

There are many fantastic characters in this book! Even a ghost, Grace, that I ended up really liking. This is a fantastic beach read that I will definitely recommend to my bookstore friends as they prepare for summer vacations.

Elin…thank you for always giving us stories we can enjoy and that will stick with us for awhile! Now I want to plan my own trip to Nantucket!

The Hotel Nantucket is undergoing an extensive renovation. It’s new owner, Xavier Darling, has declared that the hotel itself and customer service is top notch. He is determined that they achieve a highly coveted 5 key review by the elusive Shelly Carpenter, an Instagram famous reviewer. Lizbet is fresh off a devastating end to her relationship with JJ, her long-term boyfriend, with whom she had run a very popular restaurant, The Dock. Becoming General Manager of Hotel Nantucket is her chance to make a fresh start and move forward to making a success of the Hotel Nantucket. Assembling the right staff and dealing with guests is no easy task. Not every person or situation is as they seem. And then, there’s Grace, a young chambermaid who died in a fire at the original hotel some 100 years ago. She is still there, in her ghostly presence.

Elin Hilderbrand has given us a wonderfully crafted story about renovating and operating a high-end Nantucket Island hotel, it’s staff and guests. I especially loved Elin Hilderbrand’s version of The Blue Book, which highlights some of her own favorite Nantucket restaurants, places to go, and things to do. What a lovely way to honor living or visiting Nantucket.

✨ {eARC} BOOK REVIEW ✨ The Nantucket Hotel by Elin Hilderbrand

~ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ~

Happy pub day to this summer gem 🌞 While it was chilly here in Chicago, I was able to escape to Nantucket in this book!

From the resident ghost, Grace to the Nantucket hotel staff, these characters were so ~for the most part~ enjoyable. I adored being fully transported to Nantucket and embraced the stunning ambiance of this hotel. I feel in love with the long-time guests - Kimber, Louie and Wanda ♟ and constantly craved more of their story. The emotional depth was *chefs kiss* 🤌🏼 - just the right amount for a beach read.

I’ve always heard Hilderbrand is the QUEEN of beach reads, but had yet to pick one up and omg that statement couldn’t be closer to the truth. If you’re looking for your next beach or poolside read, look no further! The Hotel Nantucket is out TODAY 🥂

👏🏼 Thanks to NetGalley and Little, Brown & Company for the eARC in exchange for an honest review.

London based billionaire Xavier Darling has invested $30 million in the Hotel Nantucket which is in pretty bad shape. He has hired local Lizbet Keaton as his general manager.

In 1922, Grace Hadley, a chambermaid, died in a fire in the hotel. It is now believed that she haunts the place by making problems with the hotel and making life miserable for guests she feels deserve it.

Lizbet interviews people and hires some good employees. The hotel has been transformed to an elegant place with the best of everything offered to its occupants. Now, Lizbet has promised Xavier that her employees will keep up the best standards.

They all worked so hard to make the hotel a huge success. But when the owner decides to sell it after just one year, what can be done to keep it running?

This is a delightful story that introduces us to a lot of characters, their backgrounds and their problems. I admire how the author intertwined them all so well. There is also some humor in the book, especially with Grace, the ghost. I loved her! We read about delicious food that made my mouth water. This is the first book I have read by this author but it certainly won’t be the last. Enjoy!

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC of The Hotel Nantucket. I had saved it for our yearly beach trip and it just made the trip perfect. I look forward to our yearly fix of EH’s book drop every year by February. And this one did not disappoint. I loved the way she intertwined stories but one of the best parts of this book wasn’t necessarily the actual story. At the end of this book is her recommendations for visiting Nantucket. For someone who has never been but has always wanted to it was a fascinating read.
Thank you for my yearly book-I’m going to be very sad when it ends.

Great beach/summertime read. I loved this one. Everything I’m looking for in a book. Well developed, likeable characters, great storyline with a bit of mystery and a blast from the past. Kept my interest all the way through.

Is it even summer without the newest Hilderbrand book?? Elin is one of my all time favorite authors and I cannot WAIT for her new read every summer and Hotel Nantucket did not disappoint. I felt like I was on the streets of Nantucket drinking at Cisco Brewery and watching the sunset on Madaket Beach. Hotel Nantucket was a perfect escape with characters that I loved with a glimpse into the hotel industry and also a ghost! I read this one in one day and is perfect for the beach or the pool or the plane or the couch or to sneak read while at work! I highly recommend and one of my favorites of the summer!

This was such good juicy fun: great food, interesting characters, insider industry stuff, a way-too-influential Instagrammer, a ghost with a score to settle, and all set in the beautiful (and by now, pleasantly familiar) world of Elin Hilderbrand's Nantucket. This was so much fun—especially on audio as narrated by Erin Bennett. I loved it.

Is it really summer before a new Elin Hilderbrand novel is on the shelves? HUGE fan! I’ve been reading her for years for the perfect escape novel. I was thrilled to receive both the digital and audio versions of this book and enjoyed it thoroughly. I can’t say enough about her fun writing style and summer in Nantucket settings. It was a perfect summer escape with a likable characters, a little romance, a little bit of mystery, a little bit of conflict and a lot of relationships that build like found family. My favorite sections were the ones narrated by Grace the ghost.
Highly recommend this novel by @elinhilderbrand for your beach or poolside reading!

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Little, Brown and Company via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you for the opportunity.

This was my first Elin Hilderbrand novel, and I really enjoyed it! We follow along as the Hotel Nantucket is rebuild by London billionaire Xavier Darling (I just LOVE that last name.) The Hotel Nantucket originally burnt down 100 years ago, killing Grace Hadley, a chambermaid. Grace has been haunting the hotel ever since! Many people owned the hotel before Mr. Darling bought it and spent 30 million dollars on the renovation, but clearly it didn't work out for the others. Mr. Darling's goal is to impress two women, a travel blogger that gives out key ratings, and another.

Lizbet Keaton is the general manager of the hotel. Lizbet has been on the island for 15 years with longtime boyfriend and co-owner of The Deck restaurant, JJ. At the end of the last summer season, Lizbet finds out JJ cheated. She leaves The Deck and applies for the GM position of the new hotel. Throughout the story, we learn more about Lizbet and her staff, and more about Grace! Will the hotel succeed? The locals are skeptical.

This book did take me a little bit to get through, but I really enjoyed the plot line and the various characters. I am not typically one to pick up ghost stories, but this was as different approach and I felt like I was reading the adult version of Casper, as Grace was only trying to help out and have others understand that she was murdered! Various characters led to various backgrounds and storylines which kept the plot interesting. The last half of the book went by quicker, because I was excited to see what was going to happen! Overall, it was a fun read and it made me want to immediately book a trip to Nantucket! It is for sure on my bucket list now.

Thanks NetGalley and Little, Brown and Company for the ARC in exchange for an honest review!

What fun!

I think I have read all of Elin Hilderbrand's books now, and she definitely writes a great summer read. But, there are always twists! This new book is a tribute to Nantucket and hotels and, maybe the supernatural. Definitely worth your while in your beach chair, the cottage on a rainy day, etc etc.

Thank you to the publisher who lent me a time-constrained e-arc via Netgalley. This review is optional and my own opinion.

Thank you NetGalley, Little, Brown and Company, and Elin Hilderbrand for this early copy of The Hotel Nantucket.

This book was unlike anything that I expected….a ghost? Didn’t see that one coming! I thought I had figured out Elin’s writing type, but here I am just flabbergasted.

This book was interesting and entertaining, yet odd at the same time. There were things in the end that I didn’t see coming, but then I felt like it was just wrapped up too nicely with a big bow too. The characters were intriguing, but also all over the place. I’m not sure I’ve ever read a book like this one.

I did like that Elin added her own suggestions for Nantucket at the end, essentially creating her own little blue book.

This book has made me want to read more of Elin’s books to see if there are others like it that she’s already written.
