The Hotel Nantucket was one a local gem but after a fire in 1922 that took the life of a chambermaid, the hotel fell to despair. It has recently been purchased by a rich businessman who has dreams of returning the hotel to its former glory, and he has hired the perfect team see it through. The hotel is rumored to be haunted by the ghost of the dead chambermaid, but no one can confirm nor deny her presence in the hotel.

I really enjoyed this one and the audio had me hooked! This book is the perfect palate cleanser - it is more substantial than a lot of romcoms but not as heavy as most historical fiction reads or thrillers. I found it the perfect in between! This book could honestly be a movie or miniseries and I would watch it - I loved all the different characters and typical to Elin's books there was no shortage of drama. I also loved the overlap with characters from Elin's other books, especially the Quinns from Winter Street! I love that series so mentions of them were very welcomed.

My only nit picky comment with this book was all the pop culture/social media references - it felt a little forced/try hard for me, like a parent trying to connect with their teenagers. Overall I'd recommend this to anyone who is looking for a fun book with a vibrant cast of characters.

I am never disappointed in reading a book by Elin Hilderbrand and The Hotel Nantucket came flying through for me. I have a habit of reading long involved books so when I pick up one from Elin I know I can sit back and just enjoy the story. There were some plot twists that will keep you guessing to the end. Pick up a copy and sit back and enjoy.

I'm actually quite shocked Hilderbrand wrote a book with a ghost. It seems beneath her. I've read all her other books and love the setting of Nantucket. I definitely wanted to visit the glorious hotel. But I'm worried about where her books are leading. Golden Girl also had the ghost of the mother looking down. Perhaps she's changing style?

Another great read from Elin Hilderbrand. I loved the ghost perspective, it was different and new. I loved all of the characters and their different personalities.

A beach read like this is just what I needed right now with all the craziness in the world. There is a reason Elin Hilderbrand is the queen of beach reads. Loved the balance of drama and mystery as well as the Nantucket setting. I will absolutely read more of her work soon!

A summer of buzzy scandal. A storied hotel. A breeding ground for gossip and mystery. Lizabet is hoping for a fresh start and the management position should be that start. If only she can charm their elusive owner. It’s full of behind the scenes drama. A celebrity chef, a restaurant that should be doing better than it does. Locals who resist change. It’s fast paced and a quick read all the elements you want on hot summer days.

A great read, for the beach or when you want to be transported to a beach town in the middle of winter. There was scandal. There was mystery. There was laughter. There was a little bit of everything you could ask for from Elin Hilderbrand.

The whole book I was guessing about who the esteemed Shelly Carpenter was, as the Hotel Nantucket was trying to earn a “5 Key” rating. I guessed wrong for everyone I assumed, which is always fun. I loved every character in this book (and there were a lot). They all had something amazing to contribute to the storyline. Everything wrapped up so nicely at the end and maybe, just maybe, there could be a sequel?

P.S. I especially loved the recommendations in “The Blue Book” at the very end. I’ve been to Nantucket, once, for a day trip, and now I can’t wait to go back and maybe have a longer stay to see more of the things recommended by Elin!

This book took me a little time to get into, and while it wasn’t my favorite by Elin Hilderbrand, I still liked it and would recommend it. At times I found it difficult to remember which character was which, but once their storylines got more developed I found it to be more enjoyable. Thank you, NetGalley, for the ARC!

I love Elin Hilderbrand! Another fan favorite and easy to devour summer read. This novel felt like it was lacking in plot compared to her other narratives - a bit too many characters to follow and not enough connection between the character's narratives for me as the reader. The desire for a hotel review felt a bit superfictial - felt like this novel lacked depth in plot.

Set in Hilderbrand's usual setting of Nantucket, this had all of the elements I love in a book: a terrific boutique hotel setting with lots of behind-the-scenes descriptions, appealing characters (even the less-than-appealing people were interesting), and even a resident ghost with a good backstory. I was invested in the various plot lines but the stories started getting a wee bit convoluted and a couple of the storylines seemed to wrap up too quickly. But I would recommend it for anyone needing something to read when the flight is delayed.

Hilderbrand has done it again with an easy, breezy summer beach read that will melt all of your worries away. The Hotel Nantucket was once a grand hotel that had slowly fallen into disrepair, until billionaire Xavier Darling swoops in to renovate the historic hotel. Xavier hires newly single Nantucket sweetheart Lizbet Keaton as his general manager, and Zizbet is determined to revive the hotel to the glamour of past days. Lizbet assembles a dynamic team to help her run the hotel, and it slowly becomes the place to stay in Nantucket.

What Lizbet doesn't count on is a ghost.

Grace Hadley was a chambermaid who allegedly passed away from a fire in the hotel 100 years ago. However, Grace cannot rest easy until the truth about her mysterious death is revealed to all. In the meantime, she will continue to encroach on the lives of those in the hotel until the truth surrounding her death is acknowledged.

The protagonists in the story are simply marvelous. You will find yourself rooting for Lizbet as she navigates her new single status and love life, and also find yourself laughing at Grace's shenanigans. What Hilderbrand lacks in originality, she more than makes up for in nostalgia, laughter, and light-heartedness. This book is a gem for sure and should not be missed.

You really can't go wrong with any of Elin's books - when you want to hold on to summer a little longer, this is the way to go. Good characters, a location that you'll want to visit - this really transports you there. I read it through so quick because I wanted to stay within the pages.

Another great read by Elin Hilderbrand. I really enjoy the atmosphere that she is able to create in all of her books. The coastal town, close knit community, and of course, the drama. Yet another great book, looking forward to reading more.

Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to review this book.
Synopsis: London based hotelier Xavier Darling has his eyes set on buying and refurbishing the historic Hotel Nantucket. They are anxiously awaiting a visit and review from famous travel influencer Shelley Carpenter. With hard work and exceptional customer service, what could go wrong? Enter the ghost of Grace Hadley, a maid who died when the Hotel Nantucket caught fire in the 1920s. All Grace wants is to have her story heard. Can the staff at the hotel help bring Grace rest before the hotel is doomed forever?

Thoughts: Elin Hildebrand is an auto-read author for me. I gave this book 5 stars and I am naming it as one of my favorite reads of 2022. First of all, Elin Hildebrand writes her books with a beautiful sense of place. Nantucket and the Hotel come alive as characters in their own right in this book. Her writing has me so in love with Nantucket (bonus: a travel guide is included in this book) that I am now planning a visit there! The characters in this book are richly written and I found myself deeply invested in their humanity, trials, and development. The ghost story element of this book is an added bonus and enriched an already fantastic read. I cannot say enough good things about this book!

For Fans of: Books set in coastal New England, Nantucket, any Elin Hildebrand books, rooting for the underdog, historical ghost stories, historical buildings with a story.

Elin did it again!! I tried to read The Hotel Nantucket as slowly as possible to savor every page but I found myself speeding through it so I could find out what happened. The Blue Book at the end is truly a love letter to Nantucket. Elin made it so easy to plan a trip to Nantucket! I’m thinking girls weekend September 2023, because September is still summer! 5+ sunshines

Elin Hilderbrand is an author I trust with my time. I love the way Nantucket is always it's own character. She never fails to paint a beautiful picture. Makes me want to jump on a plane and see it when I finish one of her novels. I didn't love or totally buy the paranormal storyline as much as some, but otherwise it was a good read.

Elin Hilderbrand remains one of my favorite authors after reading “The Hotel Nantucket.” This book is the beach summer/beach read and the story of the hotel. I was hesitant at first with addition of the ghost but she was just as endearing as the other characters. I highly recommend “The Hotel Nantucket” especially if you want to be whisked away to a beach town.

Thank you NetGalley and Little, Brown and Company for the digital arc in exchange for my honest review.
