This was my first book by Erin Hahn, but I had heard really good things about her YA books, so I was really looking forward to reading this!

Overall, this one was very meh and didn't really work for me. I'm not positive how best to explain what I didn't like, but there was a lot of history and backstory with our characters and I felt that not enough of it got fully fleshed out and there was a bunch of random stuff thrown in for drama without really serving a purpose. My overall impression was that it was messy and immature and the pacing of the story didn't help.

Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

The definition of "fine" - an inoffensive but essentially forgettable read. I love books with a reality show aspect but this one fell a little flat for me and I wanted more from the main couple's chemistry.

I am a huge sucker for HGTV and any home Reno tv or videos. So add that to a romance book and Im in.

I loved that this romance did not have that dreaded third act break up part. Sometimes those drive me nuts. So this was a welcome reprieve. However, I do hate miscommunication I felt like there was a lot of that in this book which led to rating.

I loved getting Shelby and Camerons point of view. I think dual POV always make a romance book that much better. I also liked the maturity of both characters.

Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for an e-arc of this novel! I was unfortunately not able to get far in this novel, and feel it would not be appropriate to provide a review at this time.

I have been struggling to finish some books and this was pleasant surprise.
Shelby Springfield, Cameron Riggs and Lyle Jessup starred teenage drama together. Shelby and Cameron were secretly together until he left the show and went to college. Shelby was so lonely and became star couple with Lyle until he broke up with her publicly and wrote songs about their relationship. When Shelby needed someone, she would text Cameron and he would come right away except he left every time.
Now they are older and hopefully wiser. Shelby left Hollywood life and settled in Michigan, refurbishing furnitures. When home improvement opportunity comes along, she is willing to try again.
Cameron always loved Shelby but their timing was bad. Now this pilot could give him what he needed.
Cameron and Shelby kept their feelings to themselves and this could be their second chance at happiness since they really didn't get their proper chance.
It is cute and I really loved how Shelby and Cameron would support and loved each other. I really enjoyed reading this one. If you enjoy second chance with home improvement show, this book is worth it.
Thanks to Netgalley and Griffin for my copy.

This book was a quick and entertaining childhood sweethearts second chance romance. The characters reunite to work on a home reality show, and quickly realize that they still have feelings for each other. The book was cute and the characters definitely have chemistry.

Blah. I hate immature characters with a passion. The synopsis made it sound so adorable and promising yet in reality I couldn't stand the characters and thus the plot was ruined for me.

Erin Hahn is an auto-read, auto-buy author for me for her YA novels so clearly I was going to fall head first into the adult version. Unfortunately, I found this to be a bit lackluster and missing a certain appeal that her YA novels do. The characters felt very surface level and didn't seem to get the same rich voice compared to her YA and I couldn't have cared less about the MMC. I'm writing this review after some time has passed and I barely remember him, but I do remember the FMC. I think this speaks to characterization and how little I invested in him as a character.

It’s not “sweet” in the closed door, cloying way, but rather more of a heart-warmingly real way. I love he falls first/he pines for years, and Cam has that under wraps. Shelby’s BFFs Maren and Lorelai are the ultimate badass supporters of the real her, and we love to see it. (We see more from Lorelai in my other recent favorite from Erin Hahn Friends Don't Fall in Love.) Shelby’s dad’s love for Cam, including stepping in to give him fatherly advice and fill that void, tugged at my heart strings. I could have used a little more spice if possible? A few scenes were more implied than frankly spice. The writing had a light, bubbly quality that I really enjoyed! Definitely will be reading more from Erin Hahn, I frankly can’t wait for Maren’s story!

The cover is so cute and drew my attention to this book. Built to Last has such a fun and creative storyline! I really enjoyed Shelby and Camerons characters and their history adding into the storyline. And then of course, I hated Lyle (barf!). This book would be perfect for those would love some HG-TV. Erin Hahn did a wonderful job on this one being her first adult romance book! 3.5 stars rounded to 4!

Thank you to St. Martin's and Net Galley for a gifted copy in return for my honest review.

Child stars are reunited as adults in this rom-com. Put together to do a home improvement reality show. Will they be able to most beyond their pasts to make the show work, or is it doomed from the start?

In Erin Hahns rom com debut, readers are invited into a second chance romance that will keep them flipping pages until the end. Childhood sweethearts Shelby and Cameron find the sparks and sawdust flying when they work together on a show called Homemade. Hahn gives great character development so I felt like I knew these people as friends and could root for them. Terrific back story and character development. Will look forward to reading more.

This was definitely not bad, but not for me. I’m apparently just really not into reality tv and the drama of that, former child stars, and ex partners who dominate the entire book…so I liked the characters and such, but it just really wasn’t a me book which is fine. It happens.

I am a fan of Erin Hahn's books, and I was so thrilled to get a copy of Built to Last. And, who doesn't love a second chance romance story?

I was drawn in by the chemistry of Shelby and Cameron, and potstirrer Lyle adds a comedic element.

Many thanks to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for sharing this book with me. All thoughts are my own.

This book is a heartwarming tale about second chances, youthful love, and rekindling that spark in adulthood. It's a definite 5-star read for me!

Cameron and Shelby, once young stars in the public eye, navigated the turbulent world of Hollywood fame. But as it often happens, external influences, including those from unexpected quarters like Shelby's mother, played a part in their separation. Shelby has since left the spotlight and now finds joy in restoring furniture with her dad. However, when an offer to star in a home renovation TV pilot, spearheaded by her ex and former co-star, comes up, she takes it to help her dad retire, not realizing it would plunge her back into the drama of TV life.

The story beautifully unfolds their past and how it shapes their present. It was my first book by this author, and I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Teenage acting costars to lovers + redoing a house on reality tv + second chance romance + the cutest family vibes + the steamy romance = Built to Last by Erin Hahn! My only wish is that there was more of Shelby and Cameron's romance as costars on a tv show! But I loved the emotional reconnection and the growth between the characters and watching their love story blossom.

Definitely recommend this one for an end of year cozy read.

I received this Arc from Netgalley. Thank you for the chance to read this book early. My review is honest and 100% my own thoughts about the book.

I really enjoyed this really cute second chance romance. It was well written. I loved how a once child star, Shelby, is reunited with Camron, the childhood sweet heart, to make a remodeling show together. There is a slight love triangle going on.

I love the chemistry that Shelby and Camron have. I would say that is I slightly a slob urn and would love a little more back story. However I really did enjoy the book in a whole. Definitely a really cute second chance romcom! This book has Spice, interesting family dynamics, fun banter and growth through help from a therapist

Back in the day, Lyle, Cameron, and Shelby were the child stars of a Boy Meets World style sitcom. Lyle was the lead, and Shelby and Cam were... totally crushing on each other from the start. 5 years after the end of the show, Shelby gets dumped by Lyle in a fiery demise of their relationship, and Cameron comes running to help her pick up the pieces, only to leave her in the lurch again. 5 years after THAT, Shelby and Cameron get conned into a conversation about starting a house renovation reality show... And Cameron's still-there/never-left affection for Shelby gets him signing on despite having no experience whatsoever. And so we begin...

This book is WONDERFUL. It's so sweet, and I could not put it down. I finished it in 36 hours.

Full disclosure, I was given access to this book through NetGalley a year ago. But I missed the download date, so couldn't read it through their system. I've been busy with so many other books lately, I didn't go hunting for it right away.

GUYS. I HAVE REGRETS!!! I could have been talking this book up FOR A YEAR, and getting it into people's hands for ages, and I haven't been, because I was a lazy slob that requested more than I could handle.

Shelby is a tough chick now that she's grown into herself and she's so fun to cheer on. Cameron is the bearded book-boyfriend hottie everyone needs in their lives. Lyle is a big fat asshole and watching his smackdowns from the MCs and everyone else around him, is a damn delight. The romance is sweet and also steamy. The chat about woodwork and building are decently accurate and not boring as they're discussed. The background characters are wonderful and interesting and I want more. And I'm so excited to know THERE IS MORE! There's a sequel with one of Shelby's besties and I'm absolutely going to get that book as well.

I am such a dummy for sleeping on this book and I'm absolutely RUNNING to tell our library buyer that he NEEDS to get these books ASAP because i need to start getting this book in more people's hands. I love it. So. So. Much.

I received an Advanced Reader Copy via NetGalley in return for sharing my thoughts on this book. Thanks to the author and publisher for this opportunity! I'm sorry for my delay in finally getting this book reviewed!

What sets "Built to Last" apart is the richly drawn backdrop of the home renovation show, which adds an interesting layer to the narrative. The supporting cast of characters adds depth to the story, with their own unique struggles and triumphs.

Overall, "Built to Last" is a delightful blend of romance and self-discovery, filled with genuine emotions that will tug at your heartstrings. Erin Hahn's engaging storytelling and well-crafted characters make this novel a joy to read
