This preview is such a tease and makes me want so much more! I love Luc and Oliver's relationship and find them to perfectly balance each other. I absolutely loved the first book and cannot wait to get my hands on the full sequel.

this was great ! I’m so excited for the whole book :) the characters are just amazing and I love the writing style.

So excited to be back with these characters. I can't wait for the full book! Luc and Oliver are the perfect couple and ready for their next step. It's always a fun ride with Alexis Hall.

It was so nice to come back to this amazing world of Luc's disasters. I love the first book with all of my heart so reading this excerpt was like coming home from a long day at work, it was just splendid. Alexis Hall's writing is absolutely incredible as usual, full of wit and magic. Some people really dislike pop culture references in books, but I appreciate them, especially when something I know and love is mentioned.
I think that the first five chapters are nicely paced to make us excited and impatient for what's to come. At least I personally can't wait to get my hands on this book in August, because I already know it is going to be a hell of a ride, with the theme of Four Weddings and a Funeral theme we've got going on.
I'm really grateful I was able to read this in advance because now I know that I don't have to worry about the lower quality of the sequel (I feel like it's a common trend that the sequels are often disappointing).

I loved Boyfriend Material by Alexis Hall, so I was thrilled with the chance to review the first 5 chapters of Husband Material. This story picks up two years after the end of Boyfriend Material with Luc and Oliver still happily together. But drama ensues when Luc's ex, who sold their life together to the press, returns inviting them to his wedding!
Luc and Oliver, despite having matured and built a stable happy life, are still the fun, neurotic characters they were in the first story. Reading the first five chapters felt like I was returning to a favorite vacation spot, fun and familiar, but a little different and exciting.

I really enjoyed the first book in this series, and the preview of the sequel has me PUMPED! It has all the characters I loved in the first book, and it's full of my secret favorite thing... weddings! :)

It goes without saying that I'm jumping up and down in my room to get my hands on this book! August cannot come soon enough.

I feel like I was one of the only people in the world who wasn't absolutely blown away by Boyfriend Material, so I came into this preview for Husband Material without any sort of bias.
I loved the distinct and engaging voice used by Alexis Hall. It's a lovely LGBTQ novel for adults without feeling like, well, a boring adult novel. I feel like a lot of LGBTQ novels are for teens/young adults, and as someone who's older, having a novel aimed at my age-range is a relief.
Charming and entertaining!

I need this book and I need it now. I simply adored the first book, so I was ecstatic when I found out that there was going to be a sequel. And now, after reading this little preview, I am desperate to have the full book in my hands or on my e-reader. The tone, the characters, the dialogue, argh, everything was just perfect.

Truly, fully devastated to not have the rest of this book yet. The first five chapters had no right to make me so invested.

A bit difficult to review a preview, but this taste sure was tantalizing! I loved seeing these characters a bit later in time. They're all on the edge of caricature, like a '90s rom com, and I'm so fond of them. I definitely want Bridget to be okay, and I'm curious to see what the central difficulty will be for Luc and Oliver. An auto-buy for sure!

I don't really know how to review a preview except to say YES, THANK YOU, MORE PLEASE. Can't wait to read the rest of this book in August!

THIS MADE ME SO EXCITED TO BE BACK IN THEIR LIVES!!!! I will definitely purchase this book once it comes out. The characters, the humor, the writing: 10/10

This was a great little teaser and I can't wait to read the rest of Husband Material to see how Luc and Oliver get on!

I enjoyed Boyfriend Material, so I was super excited for Husband Material! The book starts out strong with familiar characters and Alexis Hall's typical humor. It's a lot, but also hilarious. While there is a timejump before the book starts, it playing about two years after the previous book, it was easy to slip right back into Luc's mindset and his vibrant, fast-paced life and thoughts. Can't wait for the book to come out!

I requested this preview simply because I could not wait to read this book and really loved it. Even with the access to only a few chapters, I really liked the direction that this second book seems to be taking and I can barely wait to get a chance to read the entire story.
Thank you to NetGalley and Sourcebooks for this preview.

Reading the preview for this book has made me even more excited to read the rest, which I didn’t think was possible. I love Alexis Hall’s romances, across the board, and Boyfriend Materiel was the first I ever read, so I am thrilled to get to see what happens next to Luc and Oliver.
In the preview, we get to see that they are still the same people even 2 year into a healthy relationship. Luc is still struggling with his self esteem issues, but I love getting to see him rise above his past and be a good friend and honest boyfriend. The problems they are dealing with are so real and normal, and it’s just works. The book includes the ruined jokes and Dick pics from the original in ways that already make me smile.
I think it’s vital to read Boyfriend Material before you read this book. And boy, are you in for a treat, because it is wonderful, and this looks to be just as good if not better!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced preview of this book. It contained the first 5 chapters. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher.

Boyfriend Material is one of my favourites from Alexis Hall, so I was both intrigued and sceptical by the idea of a sequel. Having read the first five chapters, any worries have been alleviated, and I eagerly await the full release.
Husband Material takes place two years after the end of the first installment. Luc is still cynical and crisis-prone but has matured in his relationship with Oliver. We are plunged straight into their extended circle, which Hall manages to reintroduce as if we had just finished the first book.
A brilliant opening, and I look forward to the complete publication.

I was doubtful when I heard that there would be a sequel to Boyfriend Material but I nevertheless enjoyed the first five chapters (and I need the rest of the book ASAP) Even though there is a time skip, it feels like picking up where you left off. Luc is just as chaotic, sardonic, and self deprecating as before. And Oliver is just as adorable, insecure, and supportive. I loved seeing their queer friend group again! Their relationship is so cute and healthy, but I think that the sequel reopens some plot points from the last book that I felt were finished. I do think that bringing a certain someone from Luc's past back into the picture will be very intriguing and test Luc and Oliver's relationship and hopefully provide Luc some closure and an ability to move on with Oliver. This book seems like a great sequel, so if you enjoyed the first book I'm sure you'll like this one too.
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for providing an early preview of the book!

These first 5 chapters were really fun and enjoyable to get through! It was great to return to such lovable characters. I can’t wait for when the rest comes out!1
