I lived the humour and touching romance in the first book, and I really, reallyyy can't wait to read this one.

I absolutely LOVED Boyfriend Material and I screamed at everyone who wanted to hear about it and also everyone who did not. They were all forced to read it, no exceptions.
I really hate samplers, because they always just make me want more. This one was no exception.
I need this book NOW!

I loved Boyfriend Material and I feel so happy to have had a chance to preview Husband Material. I'm legitimately desperate for the rest of it. Please put the full egalley up to request. Please?

This was an amazing start to Husband Material! It had some great fluff, yet was full of emotion and left me wanting more. There was some angst between Luc and Oliver that left me wondering what would happen and if they would be okay. The fact that Hall shoved this much emotion into this small preview was amazing and I need to read more!

It's hard not to enjoy this preview because I really like Luc and Oliver, and it's fun seeing where they're at two years later. But I can't say I'm thrilled with the setup of Miles serving as a similar story arc as Luc's father in the first book, and the preview ends on a not-great moment between Luc and Oliver that has me worried about what kind of second book this is going to be. I prefer ones where the characters work and grow together over ones where they break up before getting back together, and I'm afraid this is headed towards the latter. But I'm still excited to see where things go!

I missed this characters so much! This was a really good preview and I can't wait to read the whole book!

The chokehold this book has on my heart is unbelievable. Even in just these first five chapters, I was laughing out loud at almost every line! The hilariously witty wordplay, the incredible accurate inner monologue, and the adorable yet realistic relationship dynamic that exists between Oliver and Luc are all ingredients in a recipe for perfection.

I'm very excited to read all of Husband Material. From the looks of things from this preview, Luc is going to continue to struggle with his trust issues and his struggles with self-worth. Ideally, I would have loved to have gotten more of Oliver's viewpoint in this, but the story is told through Luc's point of view, so obviously we get more of him. My main critique of the first book though was that Oliver didn't get enough room to shine and I hope that isn't the case in the full novel. Still, I'm excited to read on and find out what happens next!

I’ve already preordered this book. I loved Boyfriend Material so much and I can’t wait to get further into Luc and Oliver’s lives. What I love about Alexis Hall is that he can make me laugh out loud multiple times in the short five chapter preview. The humor is excellent and I truly love the progress Luc has made as a friend and boyfriend. I think the way Hall writes banter is unmatched. It’s fast paced and witty. I can’t recommend reading books by Hall and I hope people are just as excited as I am for Husband Material.

Thank you to NetGalley, Alexis Hall and Sourcebook Casablanca for a preview of "Husband Material."
I just recently listened to the audio of "Boyfriend Material" which I loved and I can tell from the preview that this one will just be as charming.
We flash forward 2 years from where "Boyfriend Material" leaves off and the cast of characters are all back!
I am really looking forward to see what happens with Bridge, Miles' wedding and of course how Oliver and Luc fare. They both still seem to fall in old habits but you can tell that they are still mad about each other.
There are times when I am on Oliver's side of rationale and then there are times when I am proud of Luc sticking up for himself and saying his thoughts. They will constantly be tugging my heart back and forth and I just want both to be happy.
Looking forward to the release of this one in August!

Luc is at it again. Being his self doubting nervous self and as usual Oliver and him are a treat. I only read the first 5 chapters from the book as a preview and can’t wait to be back with the crew ! It’s a wonderful promising start and hilarious too!

Oh God, I swear that if time doesn't pass faster for this book to be published, I'M GOING TO EXPLODE! I NEED IT IN MY LIFE!
5 chapters and I already know that as soon as I get my hands on it I'm going to devour it completely because AAAAAAAA Luc and Oliver are beautiful and I love them so much!
I missed them too much and seeing them now so mature, at this stage of their relationship where despite having difficulties they trust and talk to each other and solve their problems as a team is... Wonderful 💗 My heart can't take so much, they are incredible and a beautiful couple!
Even so, with these first chapters I already have many theories about what is going to happen and now I'm worried because Lucien is going to have to face the person who hurt him so much in the past and the trauma that boy caused him. I honestly don't know what's going to happen but I really hope that our precious Luc can deal with this and come out free, happy and calm.
Also, OLIVER IS AN AMAZING BOYFRIEND! Not only an amazing boyfriend, he is AN AMAZING PERSON AND I LOVE HIM SO MUCH! The way he appeases Lucien, listens to him and says just the right thing to cheer him up and let him know that everything will be okay is beautiful. Precious baby Oliver is all we need in life.
With your permission I'm going to wait patiently for Husband Material to come out because I'm sure that as soon as I get my hands on it I'm going to devour it completely 💗.

This preview of the sequel to Boyfriend Material was amazing! It teased enough to let us know that although the characters have grown and are in fact boyfriends, there is still work to be done in terms of communicating and having a healthy relationship. One of the aspects I liked most about Boyfriend Material was seeing Luc and Oliver being forced to talk about their feelings with each other, and it looks like that continues in Husband Material.. Can't wait until August!

I absolutely LOVED Boyfriend Material so I was thrilled to get a preview of the sequel! I really like Alexis Hall's writing and these first few chapters have me desperate to know what happens next! I'm so excited about getting my hands on the whole book that I’ve already pre-ordered my copy!

Chapter 1-5 preview was ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This cast of characters absolutely warms my heart. The witty banter. The pick-me-up humor. And now I can’t wait for August for this book to come out!!
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for an ARC!

Irresistibly hilarious from the very first page! I'm so delighted to be reunited with my favourite fake-boyfriends-turned-real-boyfriends, and I'm more excited than ever to read the whole book!
In this preview of Husband Material, we quickly learn that Luc and Oliver have reached that age where everyone around them are getting married, or getting engaged, or thinking about getting engaged. Luc and Oliver are not engaged (yet?) but their relationship of two years seems to be reaching new levels of stability - so there should be zero issues between them when Luc is confronted with a past trauma that he thought he'd put behind him, and forced to consider the best way forward when no option seems free of regret. Right?
As much as I can see trouble looming on the horizon for Luc and Oliver, I'm so excited that we get more of their story! Alexis Hall has such a good handle on their personalities and their quirks, and that really shines through even in this preview - they're both instantly recognisable from Boyfriend Material, and I'm so stupidly excited to see them again! I've missed Luc's intensely witty humour and Oliver's profound sincerity, and I feel that same sizzling energy between them on the page that I loved so much in the original. Even five chapters in, I'm completely hooked! I can't wait to keep rooting for these two when the full novel is released!

Readers of Boyfriend Material rejoice! Reuniting with Luc's witty inner dialogue and rampant self-doubt, and spending time with his endearing, over-the-top group of friends and coworkers, is as much fun as in the first opus of this series (duology?)

In the first five chapters of Husband Material you'll find:

- a non-gendered-bird do

- the return of CRAPP

- accidental misuse of social media

- ex-boyfriends being as entitled and dickish as ever

- Oliver's amazingness making up for all past dickish ex-boyfriends

- an early 2000s romcom marathon

- and genitalia shaped crochet hats

Luc's voice is, as in the first book, hilarious, witty, and self-deprecating. Alexis Hall has a way of making me snort out loud at every page that makes the opening of Husband Material as addicting as its predecessor. I know a great summer read when I see one... Can't wait for this book release!

Reader, I laughed out loud. These first chapters reminded me of all the reasons I loved Boyfriend Material. Not all of the jokes were funny (the one about Rhys’ OnlyFans account landed with a thud) and I’m worried about Hall’s ability to sustain enough believable conflict between Luc and Oliver to carry an entire novel. They’re supposed to be in a good place (good enough to get married perhaps…?) and even they can only have so many misunderstandings to be tearfully resolved. I was also a bit alarmed to see Oliver going vegan—his character in the first book was some of the most accurate eating disorder representation I’ve seen in genre fiction, and I hope Husband Material can do more with that than a few jokes about beans and tofu. Only time will tell—can’t wait for August 2!

When I saw this suggested I knew I needed to have it! Even if it was just the sample!
But now I regret it because I need more! I need to know they are okay and I need to know where Tom is and I need to know how long till Rhys realises he’s on a porn site!
I missed all the characters and need more!
This was only 4 or 5 chapters but so Hugh has gone on already!
Thank you for netgalley and the publishers for allowing me to read an ARC of this book

Loved the first book in this series and this one is just as good! I need the rest of this book ASAP!
