Five chapters were not enough!
Boyfriend Material is one of my favorite books and this early taste of Husband Material by Alexis Hall left me hyped for August.

If the first five chapters are any indication, I'm going to relish this book. Luc and Oliver are back and it feels like catching up with old friends.
One worry I have with sequels is that the characters will regress, or have wholly different personalities. It's clear that these characters remain flawed but determined to display the emotional maturity gained in Boyfriend Material.

As with the first book, Hall has me on the edge of my seat with anticipation to what our loves will get up to in this installment.

What a perfect taste! Boyfriend Material was one of my favorite books that I read in 2021 - it is so fun to be back with Luc and Oliver. CAN"T WAIT FOR THE REST!

I loved Boyfriend Material, so is there any doubt that this preview sampler would be anything less than 5 stars? As much as I loved seeing Luc and Oliver again, the introduction of Miles in the first two chapters is giving me pause-- something is being set up here, and I can't wait to see where Alexis Hall takes us!

I am so excited to read the rest of this book! A lot of romance series will introduce new characters in the second or third book as the lead romantic couple, which is great, but it is also nice to see the story of characters that you loved continued. Definitely looking to finishing this book when it comes out!

I really liked Boyfriend MateriaI and was so excited to see there was going to be a sequel. I was lucky enough to be able to read the first 5 chapters of Husband Material and I can not wait to see where these characters go!!

they gave us domestic bliss, I had no idea how much I'd missed luc and Oliver it's like going back to your childhood house and using your fav blanket again, it's home it's fun im sure there will be more drama but I for one can't wait to see them again

I missed the window to get my hands on a full ARC for Husband Material but luckily I was able to get a small preview to satiate my hunger for this book.
Falling back in to Luc and Oliver's story has been the best feeling! I've missed these two so much and this preview was 100% not enough to hold me over until August.
First of all, Miles is a prick. I barely know the guy and I hate him with a fiery passion. Second, Jojo could be great but I hate him too. Luc deserves the best and I really hope he and Oliver find the time to have all the wonderful, adorable, coupley dates they want because I want these boys to have a world full of happiness.
This preview was amazing, I'll always be a big fan of Alexis Hall's writing and how witty and fun the characters in this story are. August better come quick!

Husband Material, at least the five chapters I was able to get, are dropping readers immediately back into Luc’s very addled basket case of a brain and I AM HERE FOR IT.
Luc is still struggling. Oliver is still patient, but I’m wondering if that patience is running out?
Already I can see that Hall is dropping major foreshadowing with lines like “no matter how hard I try” and by sliding Miles into two of the five first chapters!

Good lord, I'm so excited for this I can barely put it in words.
With the first book in the series, Boyfriend Material, having been runner up for my Book of the Year 2021, I've got to say my expectations for the sequel are high, but the first five chapters have already knocked it out of the park.
Alexis Hall's humour is incredible, her writing and especially her characters have you hooked from the first page.
If I had to give a single criticism it's that the formatting and font of the text messages makes them a little hard to discern from the normal text, but that's literally the only negative thing I have to say about this.
Also, pro tip: If you're into Audiobooks, Boyfriend Material is on Spotify and Joy Jameson does an incredible job reading it.

Finding out Boyfriend Material was going to have a sequel was the greatest news I’d heard all year. The next greatest news was that there was going to be a sneak peek on NetGalley. I am so ready for the next installment of Luc & Oliver. First five chapters are amazing and I can’t wait until August.

It's not been long since I read boyfriend material and i was so excited to read the preview! It has exactly the same charm as the first book, with the perks that we get to see the two in their developed relationship. It's hard to say yet where this book will go but I am very excited to read the entirety when it comes out!

This preview wasn't enough to placate my soul. I need the whole book asap!
I love these characters and knowing there was going to be a sequel could mean there was going to be some drama. I know there's going to be drama. Boyfriend Material hurt me so much towards the end of the book. I'm hoping this sequel won't do this to me!

This preview was awesome, I totally need the book when it get out, the story continues with all its twists and problems as a good rom com should, I can't love this series more Luc and Oliver are so adorable and I want to know how this will be finishing for them.
Love the overall characters on this one and I do have my theories on what's happening or want to happen already, so let's see what it got in stores for us on release day.

Sweet, hilarious and just all together wonderful, this little taste of Husband Material left me craving so much more.
I found myself missing Oliver and Luc after finishing Boyfriend Material, needing more of their special brand of crazy - and my wishes have been answered! I loved this sneak peek and I'm counting down the days until I can get my hand on the rest of this story!
5 stars and a bad conductor

Loved this sneak peak of Husband Material. I think the dynamic of brining back issues of exes while also showing how much Luc and Oliver have grown is going to make for an excellent sequel. Can’t wait for the full book to come out later this year!

5 chapters is all i get? So far this is super fun! The build up is good and the characters are funny! Alexis Hall writing style is witty and grabs your attention. The opening line about a hen party was unexpected and wanted to read more and more. Sad that this ended so quickly!

Sometimes I'm scared to read sequels about established relationships but I'm pretty sure it won't be the case with 'Husband Material'. The banter, opposite attraction, British humour and hilarious group of queer friends got me so excited to read more of it.
Thank you netgalley and publisher for the preview arc

I read the first few chapters and I already feel like it's going to be a book I'm going to enjoy. When I finished "Boyfriend Material" I needed a second part, I wanted to know more about Oliver and Luc's relationship, and in just a few months we will be able to meet them, which makes me very happy. I feel that this book is going to continue to have the freshness of the previous one, and it only grabs you from the first pages. It will be a pleasure to meet again with such beloved characters once again. August is coming fast!
