Silly yet interesting! You'll definitely learn a new thing out of this! A tiny one with cutest illustrations!

The only reason I won't adopt this for the classroom is because it seems geared towards much younger students. This book is very light-hearted and is good for call and response, which keeps the child engaged. I love that this is a series and I would be curious to try with my future children when they're little. I also LOVE that this uses a dyslexic font. As someone with dyslexia, it makes a world of difference!

One interesting book, definitely for younger kids, the knowledge on why chicks don't eat candy. I myself just know this fact after all these times, and this book explains it beautifully. With somewhat hilarious facts (but true), this is a must have book, moreover if you have kids and chicks.

This was a cute silly book perfect to teach the little ones about the world. Very simple, but fun. The artwork could be refreshed up a bit.

I always learn something new when I read this series of animal books, and in this one I learned that chicks don't have sweet taste buds on their tongues, so they can't taste sweet foods. I was quite surprised at this. This book is fun, it is easy to read and it has nice graphics. It is an enjoyable book, which young children will love.

Many thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I was not familiar with this series, but the idea and the execution is great for young children. Taking a look at the function of taste buds (and who has them, and who doesn't), this is a fun way to explore biology while still keeping it simple and relatable.

Find out what a chick eats as this book navigates through the possibilities. With the colorful illustrations my six year old daughter read this book with no difficulties. She can't wait to see what's next in this series!

Thank you Netgalley and BooksGoSocial for the opportunity to read this book.

Chick Don't Eat Candy is a cute book that breakdowns how taste buds work, what various animals eat and why they do so, as well as the differences and similarities in how humans and chicks learn to eat. The illustrations are adorable and gives this informative book a silly feel.

Special thanks to Netgalley for the eARC in exchange for my honest review.

This is an amazing series by Kelly Tills. These books should be a part of all children's libraries. The author shares interesting facts in a clever and entertaining way. I can't wait to find out the subject of her next book.

Another great entry to this series! This is a cute exploration of baby chicks and how taste buds work. It's a fun, easy way to learn a bit of science while also making practicing reading enjoyable. This would be a great book for early independent readers as the text is fairly simple and is broken up in manageable chunks. As with this entire series, the book is presented in a bottom-heavy font with extra spacing that may make reading easier for kids with dyslexia or other information processing differences.

Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review!

Chicks Don't Eat Candy is the sixth book in author Kelly Tills' Awesome Animal Series. It is a wonderful children's nonfiction book that highlights the function of tastebuds in a fun and entertaining way.

The illustrations are cute. Though I seem to think that they could use more color so that the illustrations would "pop" out from the pages. But, the message is clear -- humans have sophisticated and discerning tastebuds for tasting different flavors.

Overall, Chicks Don't Eat Candy is a delightful book that is sure to please a toddler or preschooler. Four fabulous stars.

I received a digital ARC from BooksGoSocial through NetGalley. The review herein is completely my own and contains my honest thoughts and opinions.

I love these books, I’ve already reviewed a few. They’re such fun. The illustrations and little chick are cute, as is sharing the book together, and finding out what chicks eat. Nicely written and presented.

Thank you, NetGalley, for an e-ARC of Chicks Don't Eat Candy by Kelly Tills.
Chicks Don't Eat Candy is a simple non-fiction book that introduces the concept of taste to young children. The book uses simple text and humor to teach the concept. I look forward to using this book during preschool storytime and anticipate my library purchasing all the titles in this series.

This was such a short and sweet read! The cover and title were intriguing, and as Kelly Tills is one of My favourite children's writers, I had to request this book. I found the concept of taste buds difficult to understand as a child, and this simplified it so much. I wasn't aware of this fact about chicks, but I quite liked it and how it was explained in deferment kids. Short, catchy lines with simple drawings is the perfect combo for kids. If you want to buy something for kids, please buy this book along with the rest of the collection!

I LOVE this book. The drawings! So cute! I want to hug the little chick ... and all the human foods it can't eat ... well, that's just too much.

This was a lovely book. It describes food preferences and was easily descriptive which made it easy for her to understand. My daughter read it easily and found the pictures funny. She said she liked the story.

I LOVED this one! How cute is this little chick? This book tells us what chicks don't eat, and what they should eat. But then it goes one step further and gives us some information about how chicks taste, and how they have a more limited sense of taste, compared to humans, because they have fewer taste buds. WHO KNEW? I loved the illustrations and the large swaths of color. It was simple but amusing and would easily hold the interest of a child listening to it. This would be perfect for an Easter basket!

A fun, short, story that teaches children about taste buds and why we can taste certain things. Children will love reading this book and answering the questions asked. The author balances the facts presented with enough fun and silly content and illustrations to keep kids engaged.
A 4.5 star read for me as I wasn't keen on the illustrations, but I do think kids will like them.
