My kiddo got really excited about her taste buds after I read this to her. She was amazed that her tongue is designed to taste different flavors and now I often catch her with her tongue out in front of the mirror, trying to see her taste buds. Anything that gets her interested in learning more about how the body works gets a A+ in my book.

This is a cute concept to teach a child about taste and taste buds. My hesitation in rating it higher was the artwork was a bit disappointing and there was one like about "pancakes make it hard to poop" that was a little bizarre.

Pros: I'm constantly looking for books to share with my favorite kids, and I love this series of books about awesome animals. This book is charming and interactive and would be a fantastic read aloud book for a preschool class. It also teaches children about the sense of taste.

My favorite thing about this series is its use of dyslexia-friendly type-face. This feature was something I did not know to look for before reading this series. I so appreciate when publishers make reading more accessible to children.

Cons: None that I can think of!

My baby chick loves this picture book series, and this one is a cute new addition to the Awesome Animals series.

You can learn something new and funny thing about animals like geckos, pigs or chicken. Each book uses a different colour, and I quite like this purple. The information is easy to digest, the accompanying illustration is simple, and these books are ideal for reading out or cuddling up with your kind and reading together. Having read this book we went for the bathroom to check in the mirror what taste buds look like... haha.

Many thanks to NetGalley and BooksGoSocial for an Advance Reading Copy.

Very cute quick read that's also informative! Spaghetti worms should get their own book too! I enjoyed the illustrations as well.

Cute and quick little children's book. Well done, and fun. The book is about, quite simply, the fact that chicks don't eat candy. I feel bad for the chicks. But, if I were still a little kid, I'd delight in this book. While eating some chocolate kisses.

A simple little book with a fun color palette!

Will definitely entertain the kids and teach them not all taste buds are created to taste certain flavors. I didn't particularly like when it mentioned pancakes make it hard for the chicks to poop. But other than that, it is an okay pick for a children's book.
