Great book and a well told story that kept me enthralled with Reid and Lucie. While Reid used the excuse of helping Lucie feel better about herself, he soon let it be known there was more to it for him. Knowing she wanted to date a doctor, Reid didn’t let that stand in his way. While a little predictable, I enjoyed that, there was no angst between the characters and it truly made for an enjoyable book.

It has been a while since I've read a sports romance, and I really enjoyed this one. Seducing Cinderella is equal parts sweet and spicy. Reid is an MMA fighter; while Lucie is a Physical Therapist. These two have such good chemistry and are clearly very comfortable with each other right off the bat.

What I really loved about this book is that BOTH characters learned to love themselves for who they are. In the beginning, they saw themselves one way, but throughout the book they accepted all the different parts of themselves and were able to accept it bc the other person made them see the truth.

Unfortunately, for me this book was a bit predictable. I knew from the first chapter where this book was headed. Depending on how you look at it, this could be a pro or con.

Read if you like:
+ Sports (MMA) Romance
+ Brother's Best Friend
+ Friends to Lovers
+ Learning to Love- She needs to learn how to seduce another man she wants, and he is going to teach her

Lucie Miller is a physical therapist with a crush on an orthopedic surgeon at the hospital at which she works. She is surprised one day to find her brother's old best friend, Reid Andrews, in her office for an appointment. Reid is an MMA fighter with a shoulder injury and in need of physical therapy. In exchange for daily PT, Reid offers to teach Lucie the art of seduction to capture the attention of her crush.

This book started off strong and I loved the premise, however, the attitude and behavior of Reid seemed stuck in the mid-2010s, Christian Grey era. He was controlling and not in a cute way (chose and bought Lucie new clothes, as well as ordered her drinks at restaurants without her consultation). Lucie seemed so naïve, almost unbelievably so for a career-driven woman. The sex scenes were hot and I did love Lucie's supportive best friend Ness. I was not a fan of the "big misunderstanding" either - Reid decides that Lucie should not be exposed to all the media pressure of being a girlfriend of an MMA fighter and decides to break it off with her before a big fight. This was republished in 2020; it's long past time for women to decide these things for themselves.

Reid Andrews is a MMA fighter. As he has been injured, he has to go to physical therapy. Saying he is not happy about it is the understatement of the year. But he needs it if he wants to come back to the cage for a very important fight in just two months.
What he wasn't expecting was the therapist being Lucy. As in his best friend's little sister Lucy.
Reid offers her a job as his 24/7 therapist and they make a deal she can't refuse.
I liked this book. It's not really original. I have read books similar to this one many times. But I enjoyed it.

A good story with a few spicy scenes. The characters were developed rather well and the story was fast-paced.

Cinderella and the MMA fighter. Lucie is the hidden beauty that just wants to get noticed by her crush. Reid is the brothers best friend who wants to help Lucie come out of her shell to get her crush. I'm sure you can imagine what happens next. This was a cute, fast paced read. There are no surprises with this storyline but I did enjoy watching the tough Reid cluelessly falling in love.

Reid and Lucie have known each other since they were kids and he was her brother's BFF. Now years and years later she needs his help to catch "the love of her life" eye. He agrees to help, but falls in the love with her. Some drama ensues and he leaves, but true love wins in the end.

Seducing Cinderella was an all-around fun, fast-paced read! Set aside plenty of time to read in without a workday. It had my head spinning, hot and steamy!

I loved the way it was written and the revelation the female protagonist has. The language was easy and simple; I loved the story line as well. I gave 3 out of 5 stars because it was a good plot with well developed and well rounded characters. The characters were supposed to have grown up together but most of the story there is no familiarity like people who grew up and knew each other have. They hinted at a strong bond but I saw no evidence of this throughout the story, so although it was good there were some things missing for me.

Lucy was burned by passion once before. Now, she is looking at the perfect-on-paper orthopedic surgeon she works with, convinced that if he took a second look, they'd have a perfect life.

Enter Reid: brothers best friend, successful (but injured) MMA fighter, and her new seduction teacher.

Reid offers to help her catch Mr. Perfect if she heals his injury for the championship. Of course, Lucy quickly realizes that passion with the right person can lead her to happy ever after.

I had trouble getting into the book and staying with it. While I wasn't hooked, it was a simple romance read with solid spice. I enjoyed the ending which made up a lot for the slower beginning/middle. Not a very dramatic read, but had some funny moments.

3.24/5 stars
2/5 spice

I really enjoyed reading this story. Although the whole guy teaching girl how to seduce another guy was a little off putting at first once the story continued and it didn't seem to come from a bad place I fell in love with both Reid and Lucie. I think their chemistry was undeniable and very spicy. Overall a quick fun easy read with a lot of heart.

This was a fun, steamy read.
Lucie and Reid grew up together with Reid and Lucie's brother being best friends and Lucie having a childhood crush.
When Reid is injured and his normal trainer is called away on a family emergency, Reid has no choice to use another physical therapist. It just so happens that his new trainer is Lucie who he hasn't seen in years.
Lucie has been desperate to get the orthopedic surgeon to notice her since they are perfect on paper.
Reid is desperate to get back into the ring to defend his title in just 2 months, so he promises to help Lucie learn the powers of seduction to get her surgeon if she can get him back into the MMA cage.
Aside for a few stupid comments, this book was a good read.
The existing relationship was good. The premise was ridiculous but that is to be expected in a book like this. There are a lot of sex scenes since Reid is suppose to be teaching Lucie to bring out her sexy.

This Took me a while to finish this book because I wasn't in the mood to read. Which is a damn shame cause this is a great book to binge. It's nothing special and yet I immensely enjoyed it. It was just so wholesome.

In this book we meet Lucinda "Lucie" Miller & Reid Andrews. When this book opens we find the doctor that Lucie has wanted wants her best friend's number instead. The new client she has is none other than her brother's best friend. One look at this man and she is say doctor who, but he is a client which is another no go right? Reid can't believe that he was hurt not in the ring but trying not to hit a little old lady. He just wants in the ring to get his title back and he will pretend to listen to the new PT that he was sent to. Can these two find a HEA or will outside forces make sure that will never happen?

Such an amazing story. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.

Seducing Cinderella by Gina Maxwell

Steamy romcom about an injured champion MMA fighter Reid Andrews and Lucie Miller the shy physical therapist sister of his best friend. Who has had a crush on him since she was a child. She is trying to catch the eye of a surgeon she works with. Reid offers to show her how to get the attention of said surgeon if she’ll get him fit for an up coming fight.

The book is a fairly easy steamy read if somewhat predictable.

This book is about Reid, an MMA player and Lucie, his best friend’s sister. Reid is injured and needs to get into shape in 2 months before his next big fight. He goes to a physical therapist, and it turns out to be Lucie. He and Lucie and Jax (her brother had been close as kids), but he and Lucie drifted apart. Turns out Lucie wants to get the attention of a doctor and Reid wants her to take 2 months off and get his shoulder fixed. He strikes a deal with her to help her get the doctors attention if she helps him with the shoulder. This edition is redone and updated with an epilogue and bonus chapters.

I really enjoyed this book. The author’s writing was fabulous and polished. She covered all small plot points, e.g., the question of was how Reid and Lucie didn’t know who the other was before they met (I find too often that authors gloss over details that don’t make sense). The characters were fleshed out and real and they both grew during the book. I loved the development of their relationship. The author did a great job of showing the different sides of Reid and it was so nice to see a hero who wasn’t just alpha but had more facets to him. I laughed out loud at and found myself smiling through most of the book. I saw someone gave this 1 star and I honestly don’t know how. I have read a ton of 1- and 2-star books but this isn’t one. I will say if you are into dark and angsty stuff, this is not the book for you. It’s a straightforward, beautiful, and enjoyable love story. I especially loved the bonus features at the back. I highly recommend this book.

Thank you to Net galley and author for a copy of this book.
'He was the exact opposite of her taste in men, yet somehow she found him utterly delectable'
'Could it be that his innocent Lucie had a little devil in her?'

so Lucie is a sports therapist and has a crush on her colleague who never notices her.
then she meets her brother Jackson's bestfriend Reid who comes in with an injury and he walks in on her crying her heart out. together they hatch a fake dating plan with seduction lessons.
Y'all i called it! i KNEW Reid would fall first and i honestly LOVE books where the MMC falls first. Reid was/is SO HOTT!! the only problem i had was not having a scene where Jackson find out about this whole thing and that was rectified with the bonus scene!!
I look forward to reading more from this author.

In book 1 of the Fighting For Love series, physical therapist Lucie Miller is pining over the surgeon she works with and wishes he would see her as a woman, instead of just a colleague. After he asks for her best friend’s phone number, she’s crushed and feeling horrible about herself until her big brother’s sexy best friend walks into her office.
Injured MMA fighter Reid Andrews needs a therapist to get him back into fighting shape for his next big fight. Lucie is still the same shy, awkward girl he remembers, but she’s not a little kid anymore. He offers her a deal—help him get back into shape, and he’ll teach her how to gain confidence and how to seduce a man, so she can get the one she wants.
Lucie and Reid have great chemistry and fell for each other pretty quickly, but they both have their fair share of trauma and insecurities to work through, especially Lucie. Even though her naïveté was annoying at times, I loved seeing her break out of her self-imposed shell and finally greet the world with open arms.
I enjoyed Ms. Maxwell’s writing style and the snarkiness she infused in some of her characters (Lucie’s friend Vanessa was a hoot!). The pacing flowed well, but some of the sex scenes (which were super hot) were a little long for me. I don’t read sports romance often, so I wish there would’ve been a scene with Reid in the ring with an opponent. Instead, the MMA sport was only talked about, not shown.
Anyway, I definitely liked the book and would love to read more from Ms. Maxwell.

(Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for the eARC in exchange for a honest review)

Publication date: 15 March 2020

Plot:

Since Lucie was not attractive enough to be brought to a ball by her colleague, she then confides in her new patient Reid who coincidentally walked right in to see her crying. She stares at Reid with different lusty eyes after she sees his tattoos and shoulders, warnings of him being her brother's bestfriend ignored. Reid gives Lucie a deal: her being his in house physical therapist and him being her love guide.

Thoughts:

It felt like a big part of the book was missing and that is how were Lucie and Reid during childhood since that's where Lucie's crush began from. It was hard to keep an interest in this book because of how forced the connection between them was. Both seemed to have a goal in mind and just because it aligned, they thought they have a connection. I couldn't feel the butterflies or the passion and electricity the characters felt for one another. I requested for this ARC because I read the review that it had "hot sex scenes" but they were a complete turnoff because of how cocky Reid was. In all, it just felt like a fairy tale.
