I wanted to like this book, the description made it sound amazing - but I struggled to get into the story and characters.

To me it was a forgettable story.

I have long-awaited this book two, after reading and enjoying Storm. It was worth the wait! The first half of the book was a bit slow for me, but it picked up in the second-half. I love the originality of the plot and the writing is unique.

This is Book Two of the Storm series that began with Storm: It’s a Curse to Remember.

The story is incredible. Paranormal, a little bit evil, but also a lot of good. As I stated in my review of book one, while the story is gripping, the execution is less than. There is a lot of editing that could take place to bring this story to a better place.

This story is compelling and riveting and a wild ride that is really fun to be on. I want to know where things go from here.

Thank you so much Netgalley, Twisted Press and Gurpreet Kau Sidu for the ARC of this book.

I didn't realise this was the second book in the series so I found myself a bit lost at first. The plot is so intricate with lots of layers and so much details. Although a bit slow in the build up there is so much to the storyline that keeps you invested.

This was totally different to what I expected but was an enjoyable read

Shadow is pregnant with her first child. She and Evan are excited about meeting their boy, whom they plan to name Bright, and being a happy family. But the nightmares are still following Evan. Derek is still haunting Evan. And Evan is terrified about what he sees happening with Derek and Samantha, Shadow’s doppelgänger.

The SEA has tormented all of the Storm family for years. Father Bruce, a former operative for SEA, is back in the picture, trying to repair his lives with his kids, Evan and Denise. Venice is still having her visions of the future of the Storm family. Shadow’s father, the person she loves and remembers caring for her, is the head of the SEA. And Marvin, who nearly took some of this family’s lives, is still wreaking havoc with all of them.

Bruce and others have a plan to bring the SEA back to the right side of things, and end the reign of terror that the SEA had begun years ago. Sky, still an operative with the agency is going to lead things up. But as the SEA has always done, they seem to be one step ahead of the side of good. Right now, their focus is on Shadow and Evan, and the impending birth of Bright.

This is Book Two of the Storm series that began with Storm: It’s a Curse to Remember. Going back to my previous review of Book One, I see a lot of similarities with my critique. The story is incredible. Paranormal, a little bit evil, but also a lot of good. As I stated in my review of book one, while the story is gripping, the execution is less than. There is a lot of editing that could take place to bring this story to a better place. Again, some of the elements are a bit too Marvel-like. I’m not sure if this book is supposed to emulate a graphic novel or comic book, but some of the written elements are just not up to par. That said, I do feel that book two is superior to book one in many ways.

But as I said after reading book one, this story is compelling and riveting and a wild ride that is really fun to be on. I want to know where things go from here. So as I did previously, I will continue to follow the Storm family through their journeys.

Having not read book 1 and not fully realizing this was a 2nd book I feel I missed out on some character developments in this book.

This thriller is good but, it is rather slow. I’m not really sure why it took so long for me to read but it wasn’t a bad book.

A tale rich with atmospheric plots. Blending past and present with the use of reincarnation.

If I had read book 1 I am certain I would have given this book 4 stars.

Thank you netgalley for this e-arc read.

In this multilayered thriller of secrets and family, eyes are everywhere, and safety might only be another illusion. I didnt realize this was the second book in a series so I think I was a bit lost at time.

An intense thriller! There is a lot going on between the first book and this book and sometimes I had to reread some things but the twists and turns kept me engaged throughout the book! Really an interesting concept

It's a thriller of secrets. Evan and Shadow welcome a new life into theirs.
Their son, Bright, provides hope so they can move forward from the past.
But that won't happen..

A threatening appearance from Evan’s 19th-century self and fearful visions. The family takes refuge in a safehouse provided by Evan’s father, Bruce, and he plots to bring the Secret Eye Agency down,
Will the past catch up to the present?

Shadow’s ex, the SEA agent Marvin, won’t stop his pursuit until they surrender to his demands. Evan’s nephew is the first to fall victim.
Enraged for vengeance, Evan goes to Bruce, seeking clues that will lead him to Marvin. What he finds will only entangle his new family and secrets of their parents and grandparents. That won’t all be welcome.
And there are the dead who don’t stay dead.
From twisted histories to the SHADOW continues a story it’s impossible to forget
Took me awhile to finish but a very good thriller.
