This board book gives both adults and kids vocabulary words in Spanish with pronunciation too. There are flaps to reveal pictures and Spanish words! The ducks are adorable.

Things I do is a part of the Canticos Bilingual Firsts collection. It is a great children's book which teaches different things that children do and the words associated with them, such as "I draw, I play, I smile, I cry, I hear and I see. The text is in English and Spanish and the illustrations are bright, eyecatching and colourful. This is such a cute book, which all children will love and adore.

Many thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Things I Do / Las cosas que hago is a colorful bilingual board book that will help readers learn about verbs. With illustrations of adorable chicks, readers will learn verbs through action such as draw and play; along with feeling verbs such as smile and cry. This book is a great choice to help little ones develop a larger vocabulary.

Special thanks to Netgalley for the eARC in exchange for my honest review.

My kids love the Cánticos books, so we read the latest books in the series. Things I Do helps to teach children about verbs, senses and feelings. All phrases are written in both English and Spanish, and helpfully comes with correct pronunciation guides. The books have flaps to lift to discover what the chickies are doing! My kids really enjoyed these and would like to learn more Spanish!

This is an interesting book to have for those who start learning Spanish, regardless their age. I myself would love to have such a book, to help me remember vocabulary of things I do, I feel or my 5 senses.

What a fun way to learn a new language!

The artwork was super cute, and I loved that it had the words written out how they are spoken. Learning a new language can be challenging, and I think this will make learning more fun for children. And maybe adults too?

I love languages, and learning new words, and as a 24 year-old, I think this book was really helpful. I recommend it!

Happy reading!♥️

I love how simple this lift-a-flap book is, each section starts with a short sentence, and the pages following have a two word response with English on the outside of the flap and Spanish on the inside. The illustrations help support the text making learning more fun. There is also a YouTube channel where you and your kids can learn even more! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCFJJziTVsiIVSyRKvXHX37g

Those ultra-cute chicks are here for another lesson in how to present bilingual books for the very young. This one is the most word-listy of the three, as it asks us to explain what we do, and then shows the gallery of characters doing it in English, with the Spanish equivalent – complete with pronunciation guide – to be revealed when we lift the flap. So this clearly is for someone with English, learning Spanish – although the opposite could equally apply, but those students won't get the pronunciation, of course. It's just a prime lesson in a couple of two-word sentences, based on activity, emotion and the senses, but could easily be a springboard for so much more language use. And did I say it was cute-looking? All the examples of this range I've seen are well above four stars.
